Kakashi POV
"Stop fighting you two!" I told Naruto and Sakura. They had been at each other's throats since we had left the bridge builder. I looked over to Sasuke, who ran next to me. He was silent and in thought. Why couldn't the other two be like him? We scurried through the trees, aiming to get back to the village as quick as possible. We were about half way back when Sakura spoke.
"Kakashi Sensei!" Sakura told me. "Look to your right, just ahead of us."
I looked to the right and saw a young girl laying against a tree. Blood stained the grass below her. She looked barely conscious and you could tell she was in a lot of pain. Injuries covered the young girl, including cuts gashes on her arms, legs and stomach as well as burns on her back and arms. She pulled a kunai out of her leg, the girl gasping in pain after doing so. She tried to sit up slightly, using the tree as support, before her hands went a very weak green, which I recognised to be a medical jutsu. The light quickly faded as she slumped back against the tree. It took her a moment, but when she looked up at us, she seemed to panic as she tried to hide herself. She picked up two of the kunai's on the ground next to her and throw them at me. I dodged them easily and continued towards her, knowing she needed urgent help. She grabbed multiple kunai again and started chucking them at us, having quite poor aim as she did so. Dodging them for both my team and I was easy, but who could blame her seeing as she was very badly injuried.
She then proceeded to try and get up, leaning against the tree again for support, but her bloody legs gave out under her, making her fall to the ground in pain, blood oozing from her wounds again. She lent against this tree that was stained in blood and spat up some blood as she tried to move away from us. She blinked at us a couple of times as we came closer. Next thing we knew, she had drawn a long blade, determined to fight if needed, but the blade soon fell from her hand as she slipped unconscious. I hurried forward and jumped to the ground, my team following in suit. Taking a closer look at her injuries, I noted the large gashes down her left forearm and some gashes on her legs which were all worse than I thought. I knelt down next to her, trying to think what would be best thing to do.
"Who is she?" Sakura asks. I shrug.
"I have no idea." I slowly moved some of her hair out of her face. I noted to myself of the eye patch over her left eye and the bandages on her arms. She had on green cargo pants with a belt full of different weapons. A scroll was strapped to her leg along with a book I recognised to be similar to a bingo book. A mask covered the bottom half of her face, just like mine did.
"Sasuke, pass me a couple of bandages, burn and a bottle of water. Sakura and Naruto, stay on guard" I told them. Sasuke stared at me and dug the bandages burn cream out, along with the bottle of water and passed them to me. I nodded at him, then slowly started to clean the injuries. I quickly cut up a bandage with my Kunai, then poured some water onto the bandage and carefully cleaned away some of the blood. Then, I carefully moved her so I could wrap the remaining bandages around her different wounds once I had cleaned and burn creamed all the injuries that needed them. Once I was done, I carefully lifted her up into my arms.
"Team Seven. I want Sasuke and Naruto to watch for unknown attackers and Sakura to take up the rear. We have to get this girl back to the village as quickly as possible. She has lost a great amount of blood and needs medical attention. Can we do this?"
"Yes Sensei!" Naruto yells and takes off to his new position. I sigh at him. Always a loud mouth. Sakura and Sasuke nod and head off to their positions too. I headed off right after them, making sure I could see them and that I wasn't hurting the girl anymore then she already was. We headed off quite fast and reached the village just before nightfall. I said goodbye to my team and headed straight off to the hospital. I ran into the administration.
"Medic!" I called out. One of the medical ninjas at the desk looks up at me and then to the girl. She hurries out to meet us.
"Kakashi! What happened to her?" She asked me.
"I don't know. We found her like this on the way back from our last mission. She has a stab to the stomach as well as a lot of other cuts and gashes. On her back and arms, there are burns as well. She has lost a lot of blood. She needs medical attention." I told the nurse. She nodded to me.
"Quickly follow me." She told me.
I followed her and through the crowded hallway and into one of the first emergency rooms. I placed the girl down on the bed I was told to. A medical ninja and another nurse entered the room and came over to the girl. After looking the girl's injuries over, the doctor came to me.
"She will be going into emergency surgery any moment now. Please leave the room. We will contact you when we are finished," The doctor says to me.
"Keep her under strict supervision once out of surgery. She could be a threat as she had no sign of a village that I could see," I instructed before I left the room and sat down on one of the chairs outside. I hoped the girl would be alright. I quickly headed to the bathroom to clean up the blood from my hands, then went straight back to the wasting room. After the first couple of hours, I grew tired and headed home. I promised myself I would come back to check on the girl the tomorrow. The surgery finished not too long after I had left and from the report I got when I returned, they had healed majority of her wounds, but the rest were bound.
When I came back in the morning, the girl sat awake on her bed, flipping through her brown, leather book. Her semi-long hair was up in a ponytail and her seaweed green eye looked at the book in thought. She had a thoughtful look spread throughout her face and seemed to near silently mutter to herself as if she was in a conversation. I opened the door the rest of the way, the door squeaking, giving away my entry to the room.
"Where am I?" she says quietly, but showing signs of annoyance and frustration..
"You are in a hospital in the Hidden Leaf Village." I told her. Her eyes flickered in my direction, glaring, before she looked back to reading the book and muttered something to herself afterword.
"Why though?" she quizzed, folding the leather book back up and slipping it back into her pocket.
"Cause my team and I found you bleeding to death in the forest on the way back from our mission with a lot of severe injuries which seem to be all better now."
The girl rolled her eyes at me before finally making eye contact with me. "You did now? Hmm. I was wonder what that awful smell was."
I ignored her comment. "You are welcome. Now, what is your name and where are you from?'
"You have no need to know my name or anything about me Copy Cat," She said smirking, but then dropped it as she looked to the wall, muttering to herself,
"I'm guessing you know me. But I don't know you." I asked her.
"Correct. Now, can I leave? I have somewhere I am supposed to be and I have a bastard to hunt down like a dog," She asked with a blank face. I couldn't tell if she was joking or not. Yet.
"No. The doctors want you to rest for a couple more days and the Hokage wants to speak with you." I told her.
She glared at me, jumped up and appeared at the end of her bed, picking up the bag Naruto had found last night. I was impressed by her speed. I would pin her as a genin or very newly made Chunin, but a genin seemed more likely. Quickly looking her over, I noticed she was looking better than she was yesterday. There was no blood on the bandages around her stomach, so took it as a good sign.
"Look, I'm fine. If you won't let me leave, I'll leave via the roof," She replied with another eye roll and flicked her fingers up to the roof.
I looked her up and down, attempting to get anything on this girl. Who the heck was she and how on earth would she be able to get out via the roof? Only option I could think of was the possibility she is of a clan holding a Kekkei Genkai or she knows how to do brilliant illusions, but a Kekkei Genkai seemed more likely.
"You leaf ninjas are suspicious. Forgot about that," She mutters as I see her sitting on her , her legs crossed and eyes closed. I raises an eyebrow at her.
"You know what, let us go see the old man. Oops. Hokage I mean," Her voice says before she jumped off the bed and disappeared from sight. I turn around to find her behind me. She smirks and walks off in the direction of the Hokage's office. Not that I had told her it was that way. Suspicion was one of my main feelings towards this girl due to the fact she had appeared out of nowhere behind me. Not something a genin or chunin can do with ease.
We walked in silence as we walked towards the Hokage's office.
"Names Ryoko Morimoto, formerly of the Morimoto clan," The girl said suddenly. I looked at her, interested to why she choose now of all times to tell me that.
"You may know me by the name of Copy Cat, but I'm actually Kakashi Hatake. I'm the current jōnin leader of Team 7." I told her.
"Hm, didn't know that. Though, you are stronger than your average Jonin aren't you?" She says. I stop walking. For someone I hadn't met, this girl seemed to know a lot about me.
"I'm sorry. I have no idea what you are talking about," I told her as I started walking again. She shrugged and followed.
We arrived in front of the Hokage's office. I knocked on the door. There was a grunt then a growling voice told me to enter. I pushed open the door and stepped into the room, to find Ryoko leaning against the wall.
"Lord Hokage, I have brought the girl to you," I told him. The Hokage nodded.
"Hello Gramps," Ryoko says. The Hokage raises an eyebrow at her.
"Come on. I use to live here." She says then laughs fakely.
"Oh well. It has been awhile though. Nearly four, maybe five years. But come on," She says smirking.
"Im sorry, but your face is not familiar child and you aren't someone I recognise," the Hokage says as he raises an eyebrow at her.
"I'm joking. For Petes sake, you guys are too on edge. But I'm not joking either. I use to live here," She says again, but seriousness flashes through her face,
"Well, it is my duty to protect the village so I will need to ask of you for your name and village," The third asked her.
"My name is Ryoko, child from the Morimoto clan who lived on the outer edge of Konoha. I was previously in the Village of the Sky," the girl tells the Hokage, making him look up at her in interest.
"Morimoto clan? I thought they were all assumed dead or rogue," the Hokage stated, now looking suspicious of the girl.
"I'm telling you the truth and if you must check for safety or what bloody ever then do so. You damn lead ninjas are so suspicious all the time," Ryoko snapped before handing the Hokage papers, in which he took the time to read
"I see. Kakashi, may you step outside for a moment or two? I have something to discuss with the girl before I bring you back in," the Hokage asks of me before nodding, so I trusted the Hokage and left the room, waiting outside for a good 10 minutes, but I did take the time to read Icha Icha Paradise. Or at least some of it before being called back in.
"You understand now so do as you will," Ryoko said to the third as I entered the room.
"I'll place you on a genin team that recently lost one of their team members to an illness. Their sensei will test you and train you once we have you checked out by Ibiki. Do you understands? You will be watched for a few weeks or longer to make sure you are not of a threat. Do you understand?" The Third says.
"I dislike you for this old man, but I need food and sleep so I guess I have no choice. But as I said, I will not force myself to be all best friends with them. Now, may I... Can I stay at my old place if it's still around?" The girl snapped in annoyance, but when her house was mentioned, I noticed the change in her voice. Seems there was more to her then it seems.
"Oi Copy Cat. Stop trying to figure me out or you will get a headache," the girl says as she looked over her shoulder at me, right as my head got a slight ache in it, my eyes narrowing on her, but she just smirked.
"You can stay there, but only if you are fine with sharing it with your teammates," The Hokage says smartly, knowing that if she was actually dedicated to being a ninja of the leaf, she wouldn't attack or do anything against teammates.
"I hate teammates. I don't like other people in general but we made a bloody agreement. Stupid old man," the girl exclaimed, the annoyance in her green eyes again. She did this right as Kazuma walked into the room, a crutch under one of his arms. His hair was a medium length, done up in a style of spikes with the color being a dark red. His eyes were a dark green, one of them having a scar over one of his eyes. His skin was a light, cream colouring and he wore a simple black, short sleeve top over the top of mesh armor with dark green pants and a sandal on his feet. His leaf headband was tied around his left arm, his left leg holding his pouch and he had a small blade on a belt, the sheath sitting on the back of his waist. Bowing, he spoke to us in the room.
"Hokage san. Kakashi. And who might this girl be?" Kazuma says to the room, bowing at the Third and I before pausing as he looked to the girl.
"This is Ryoko Morimoto, a genin from the Sky. Now now point hiding this for certain reasons, but seeing as you are one man short, I'd like you to take her onto your team. Now I just discussed this, but I think it might be best for you to stay with her like you do with your team, along with the two boys you are teaching. Both a safety matter and a bonding method. Is this okay with you Kazuma's?" The Hokage asks of Kazuma. He looked thoughtful for a moment of two.
"That should be alright Hokage Sama. Where will the four of us be staying?" Kazuma says in reply to the Hokage.
"Ryoko will show you where you live. It would be best for the two teams to meet up and meet each other at some point and maybe have a sparring, arch against each other. Just a warning Ryoko. Keep an eye out as your teammates and one of the boys on the other team had the highest ranked scores in the graduation class in the Academy. Now Kazuma, could you take Ryoko down to see Ibiki to have a quick check from him on the girl in case of justus and such," the Hokage says. Kazuma nodded before turning to Ryoko.
"My name is Yagami Kazuma. Come on child. Let's go," He tells the mysterious girl. The two turned to leave after Ryoko refused for a few minutes, but the Hokage threw a headband at Ryoko, who caught it easily, the Hokage nodded at her reflexes.
(SUE ME FOR USING YAGAMI!! I LOVE DEATH NOTE))
Thinking I wasn't needed any longer, I went to leave, but I got stopped.
"Hold on a second Kakashi. I want to speak with you about the girl." He told me. I nodded and walked back to the centre of his room, somewhat wondering what he might need to talk to me about. I didn't know her what so ever.
"I understand you how you found the girl and all, but I will say, you seemed a bit put off by the girl. May I ask why?' the hokage asked me.
"When we found her, she had a book on her leg that reminds me of a bingo book. I felt suspicious about her cause of it. Only hunter-nin, jōnin and missing-nin have them. I saw her reading it this morning at the hospital. Additionally, she kept moving without being seen and for a genin or chunin, it is near impossible."The Hokage nodded as I told him."I asked her what her name was. She told me she didn't have to tell me and called me Copy Cat. I have only known hunters to know me by that name unless someone is challenging me for being copy cat, but she is too young to be a hunter. I ignored her calling me by that name. But on our way here, when she told me her name, she said she knew I wasn't your regular jōnin either. That is something that worried me."
The Hokage nodded. "Well, there is something I will tell you about that girl. Morimoto was her last name so what I'm about to tell you will explain a bit about a girl. I also have a job I need you to do," the Hokage informed me, so I nodded showing, I understood.
[Ryoko POV]
Three hours passed before I found myself walking down the streets that lead to the outer area of Konoha, kicking a stone along the dirt as I walked, my anger on the verge of overflowing after the amusing but frustrating meeting with Ibiki, the head of torture and interrogation.
"Why did I agree to stay with people anyway?" I mumbled to myself. "That crazy old man thinks it will help me but I hate people. This should be fun," I kicked the stone by my feet hard and watched it go flying.
Walking down the street, I began to order what I should do first before heading 'home'. Kazuma had gone off to find his team so I was left to wonder around in thought.
"I feel like some company. Especially with these people following me," I said quietly to myself. "Summoning Justu." I muttered and did a quick hand sign. There was a cloud of smoke and a white panther emerged from the cloud of smoke.
"Mistress, nice to see you again. Where are we this time?" the panther asked.
"Hello Messor. We are in the Leaf Village." I told my panther.
"Ah. Home!" She says with happiness. I glare at her and she drops the smile she had, but left it slightly on her face, making,e shake my head in amusement.
"Well, Okay. How may I be of service?" She asked.
"Well, the Hokage doesn't trust me, seeing as I can sense two jōnin following me, plus I have to join a team full of genin." I started to tell her. "And on top of that, I don't know what to do before heading 'home'."
The panther nodded. "I can take care of the jōnin if you want." Messor whispers me. I looked at her.
"I'm trying to gain their trust and fit in somewhat, not kill everyone...yet...plus I don't think you could take them on." I inform her, whispering the last part, causing her to smirk.
"Though it would be fun." She says. I rolled my eyes.
"Yes it ..." I stopped talking when I sensed someone coming towards us quite fast. I pulled out a kunai, ready to attack. The person jumped down in front of us. Messor growled at them and I was in a fighting stance, but slid the kunai away when I found an oxyn pair of eyes looking at me, some emotion in his face. He stood in front of me, a dozen steps away from he before sticking his hands in his pockets and turning right, walking away from me. I wonder what his problem is?
Setting off once more, I headed towards the shops. I passed some shops, quickly ducking into the medical store to get some bandages and medical supplies, the market to get some food, cookware cleaning items and the weapon shop to get a couple more kunai and shuriken. Heading towards the edge of the village, I walked over to the Morimoto compound which sat rat a close proximity to the abandoned Uchiha compound on the outer area.
Walking inside the compound, I sighed to myself as I made my way through the empty and messy area till I hit the only building that looked semi alright. Having not seen this place in nearly 7 years was sort of weird. Grabbing the key from below the dead rose plant, which I was surprised to find there still, I unlocked the door and walked inside after letting Messor in first then kicked the door closed behind me. I flicked on the lights to see cobwebs and dust everywhere. Seemed I had some cleaning to do sadly.
Getting the first of it done, I grabbed a broom out of one of the bags Messor had on her back and started to sweep the roof off of cobwebs while Messor started sweeping the floor for me. Once all the bottom level of floors were done, I started generally cleaning up, starting from one side of the house towards the other end. Cleaning, unpacking, fixing, making, walking, checking, more cleaning, shopping for more things eating was basically all I did for the next 6 hours. All the rooms were unpacked and set up, which I was very proud of.
The dining room, the table was chestnut and cushions green with simple floor boarding. A few bookshelves had books and antiques that were previously there. The kitchen had chestnut everything with green cookware and plates such. Brown couches and green cushions. Additionally, there were bookshelves of more antiques and books. The bathrooms were all green and chestnut too. The whole house had that colouring. With the exception of the blue chestnut bedroom themes. Why my parents choose those colours, I'll never know. After all of my cleaning and sorting, all that I had left to do was return to the house after taking out the trash.
Coming around the corner, I saw the light on inside. I unlocked the door and let Messor run inside, which followed by a couple of screams from inside. Curious to who was in my house, I entered to find a blonde haired boy, a pink haired girl and Kakashi standing in the lounge room commenting on the strange clan symbol on the wall.
'Why the hell are you in here?" I yelled at them.
"Get that thing away from me." The pink haired girl yelled. I laughed evilly.
"That thing has a name! And it seems someone is a scary cat. No offense Messor," I declared to the pink haired girl before hitting her lightly on the head. "Don't be so disrespectful though."
I walked over to Messor, patted her on the head, before I sent her back home so she didn't try and kill someone.
"Copy cat, who are they and why are you in my house?" I asked, trying not to get angry.
"Ryoko, my name is Kakashi sensei. Not copy cat." Kakashi says with a sigh. I shrugged. I did not care for his name.
"Anyway, this is Sakura Haruno and Naruto Uzumaki. Two of the team members to team 7," He told me. I stared at him in disbelief, causing him to smirk through his mask.It was now that the hobbling Kazuma entered the house, a set of boys behind him.
"Kakashi, I see you are actually on time for something," the red haired man says as he sat down on the couch behind us, "Oh Ryoko. These are your two teammates! You get to know them while I talk to Kakashi and his team quickly!" The two boys bowed to me before the green haired boy spoke while the other walked off.
"Mizutani Takao, or Kao preferably, aged 11. I'm a member of the inner Mizutani clan, being able to use the Kekkei Genkai of the clan. I'll have to show you to be able to explain it. Thank you for having me," he says to me before bowing again. For an 11 year old, he wasn't too bad looking. On top of his head was a short, levelled, light green ponytail, some of his hair framing both sides of his face. His golden eyes watched and scanned the room, noting everything around him. A faded red scar ran from the eyebrow to the lip on the left side of the boys face, but it suited him. How he got it had me curious though. Taller then me he stood, but only slightly, the top of my head reaching his eyebrows. The boy wore a dark, black tied up t-shirt with a thick belt, coloured grey, around his waist, holding a few pouches and a holster for a long blade dagger, the handle being a braided black color with silver outlining. On his bottoms were dark grey pants, a pouch on his right leg and brown traditional ninja sandals on his feet. Attached to the grey belt around his waist was the lead headband and a clan symbol by the looks of it. Not bad looking at all.
My eyes wondered over to the other boy, his eyes scanning a lot of my heirlooms and precious belongings I had out on the shelves, but he stood now in front of a paint I did when I was younger with my parents. A small sense of sadness hit me, but I pushed it to the side as I focused on the people around me.
"So who is the brown haired idiot who is staring at my painting?" I asked of Kao. The boy chuckled at me before whistling, making the boy turn around and realise we were talking to him.
"Oh. Sorry. The name is Tsuruya Hiroyuki, or Hiro for short. I'm from the Tsuruya clan, who specialise in lightning and fire attacks. I can only do a simple fire attack though. I'm 11 years old. Thank you for giving us accommodation," Hiroyuki tells me and bows. He was a bit on the interesting side, but he didn't look unattractive I guess you could say. Brown, shoulder-length hair hung on the boys head, his leaf headband holding his hair from his face. Dead red eyes watched attentively over the room, taking in everything they could, showing he was the sort who noticed a lot of things. Freckles were spread delicately around his nose and cheekbones, standing out slightly against the sun kissed skin of the boy. He wore a a navy blue top with a medium cut, mesh armor beneath it. He had black, cargo pants on his legs with two pouches on his left leg, one on his thigh and the other on his calf, with three pouches along his back. He had a bag on his back, shaped in an arch shape that showed that I worked within archer now. I could live with that if they didn't annoy me and I didn't hate leaf ninjas generally.
"So may we know your name and a bit about you?" Hiro asks of me as he sat down on one of the couches, Kao joining him a moment later. Reluctantly and knowing I had to because of the stupid old man, I figure out what to say.
"I'm Ryoko Morimoto, aged 11. I come from the Morimoto clan, being able to use both of the Kekkei genkais of the clan. I don't trust either of you," I told them in all honesty, making Hiro chuckle.
"You are just like Yukine. I guess that's a good thing," Hiro says but before I could quiz him on the matter, the blonde began to get told off by the pinky about some guy at my kitchen table.
Up I stood and walked over to the table, throwing a kunai into the centre of it, silencing The pinky from telling the blonde off for saying something bad or something about some guy. Even Kakashi and Kazuma, who were talking near by came into the room to see what was going on.
"You are in my house and by raising your voices so much, you are being disrespectful. Now shut up," I declared before turning to the two senseis in the room. "Kazuma or Kakashi. Care to explain who the hell these two idiots are?" Behind me, I heard Hiro snicker and gave him a glare, silencing the boy and making Kazuma chuckle.
"Well, this is my team. The three of them are my students. I jut told you that," Kakashi said briefly, before Kazuma spoke.
"Guys, meet Ryoko Morimoto, the new member of team 4. So introduce yourselves," he tells them. The blonde smiled widely before speaking first to me.
"I'm Naruto Uzumaki. I'm going to be Hokage! Datteboy!" He exclaims in determination before the pinky hit his head.
"I'm Sakura Haruno," she says with a half glare.
"That's two. So who is the other one?" I bored,y say. I wanted to seriously hit the only. She pissed me off already and I didn't know how I felt about this Uzumaki boy.
"That would be me," a male voice says behind me. I froze, before turning around to see him. Black hair. Oxyn eyes. The symbol of the Uchiha clan. The anger inside of me burst and my eyes showed anger.
"Get out!" I demanded of the Uchiha before moving away from him.
"Excuse me?" The guy says.
"Uchiha. Get your duckbut out of my sight!" I demanded. He stared at me in disbelief. When he remained unmoved, I grabbed the first thing I could, being a Kunai and threw it at him hard. It dug itself into the wall with a satisfying thump. The Uchiha boy looked from the blade to me with a smirk but quickly lost the smirk as another kunai barely missed his head.
"Ryoko. Let him go. He is not your enemy and my other student." Kakashi says. The Kunai didn't move from my hand, instead I started to spin it around my finger as I stared the Uchiha down. Kazuma somehow appeared next to me and took the kunai from me, earning a glare from me.
"This Uchiha is luck he isn't my teammate. Will I be nice to him? Hmm. Let me think. Maybe when hell freeze is over. I'm going to Ki..." I stopped speaking, realising that I shouldn't threaten him...yet. "I'm not working with him."
"Why? Because either way, you are stuck with him as our teams are working together," Kakashi says, smirking through his mask. Still glaring at Sasuke, I turned and walked over to my weapons that were embedded in the wall and pulled them out before walking past everyone and bowing to the clan sign in front of them, completely ignoring them.
"Kakashi, who the hell is this?" Sasuke asks, pointing at me while glaring at Kakashi.
"Sasuke. That's our new friend Ryoko who just got assigned to team 4," Naruto piped up.
I turned to the blonde boy. "Shut up. I am not friends with you. So get lost. All of you." I demand as my temper was getting short. Naruto looks at me sadly.
"One day, I will become Hokage and you will respect me!" He yells at me. I looked at him. Well, he had guts, maybe I could get use to him.
Sakura hit him on the head and told him to shut up.
"I'm leaving." I told no one in particular, the boys on my team going to move, but they stopped when Kazuma stopped the. I walked over to the window next to me, opened it and jumped out, climbing to the rooftops. Doors are too boring to exit through and that required going past the Uchiha again.
"This is going to be fun." I mutter to myself as picked up a rock, throwing it's hard as I could. Why did he of all people have to turn up? Why are I even here again?
