Author's note: whoohoo! So happy I had gotten views and a review seriously guys, thank you. I really want to thank the reviewer. Because of you, I decided to carry on with the next part of this little story.

Now note the end of this chapter defines A LOT standards and information needed to know about Rin in this story. And those who concern pairs, this chapter includes some RinxOliver. So RinxLen lovers are just gonna have to wait a while before that portion is added later.

Disclamer: I, in no way shape or form own Vocaloid characters. Hell, I don't know if it's real, but I also don't own Zed's Records. Heh, be funny if it was a real place. Probably is.

ONWARD TO LE STORY! [Edited]

-5 years later-

21-year old Rin Kagamine was casually making her way to a corner coffee shop. Her long, waist length hair flowing behind her in the warm spring breeze, her dazzling sea-blue eyes shinning bright as the sun. As she enter the shop, she quickly scanned the small area and located the mess of blond hair that belonged to her boyfriend. With a mischievous smile, she sprinted to him and engulfed him into a hug.

"Oliver! I missed you!" Rin muttered into the side of his neck, right before planting her lips over his. He quickly squeezed her small body in his slim arms and happily returned the kiss.

"Mmm, missed you too. So how much time do we have before you have to go to class?"

"Well….like five minutes" she said with a playful smirk on her lips that quickly transitioned into a pout.

"Midterms are so not the ideal plans for a Friday. I spent all of yesterday evening studying and yet, I very much doubt I actually retained any of the material."

"Ah, don't worry so much. Just think of all the free time we will get together once you finish it." He replies with a hint of mischief in his single visible golden eye, causing her to shudder slightly in excitement. Rin closes her eyes as she reaches up to once again to plant her lips to his.

In a guilty manner, she recalls the familiar act of affection with another soul from her pass. Rin quickly dismisses the thought as she pulls away, sighing.

"Well, better get going. I'm ready to get this over and done with. Still coming over this evening? I think Gumi mentioned something about cruising around town this evening."

"Of course. Someone has to watch over you loons." he chuckles as she playfully punches his arm. With one last hug and kiss, she was off to complete her exams.

A smile played on her lips, thinking of all the fun and trouble she could get her and her friends into over break.

Rin was far gone from being the pure, sweet daughter of Rinto and Lenka, and sister of Len Kagamine.

As she entered the cesspool that is the United State's educational system, Rin had this perception of herself, that made those around her feel the need to taint her in all kinds of way. Unbeknownst to her, Rin would find aid in an unlikely band of characters.

The group she befriended consisted of Gumi, a spunky and cheerful girl with electric green hair and signature pair of red goggles. Next was Teto, a sweet, yet sarcastic girl with twin pink drills resting on the sides of her head. And the fool of them all, Piko, a pretty slender fellow with shaggy white hair and a "big mouth" that often landed he and his friends in hot water. Oliver joined the group of friends a year later when he came to America from England on an exchange student program.

These five "misfits", including Rin, always seemed to conjure up trouble for themselves. Whether it was an altercation with a obnoxious classmate, or engaging in meaningless arguments with teachers or staff, each one of our beloved friends here suffered the blows of mundane society.

After high school, it shocked people to hear Rin, Oliver and Teto were attending college and that the two most troubled ones (Gumi and Piko) had found suitable jobs. All three students attend local universities or art institutions, while Gumi and Piko worked at a local record store called "Zed's Records".

Gumi, Piko and Teto had so much fun exposing little Rin to a whole litter on content when she first joined their circle of friends. They had introduced her to a vast variety of music, old fashion movies and cult classics, and some of their favorite authors. Rin quickly invested her time indulging in these worlds and alternative realities. However, she also picked up quickly on their often crude, dark and morbid humor from such materials.

Long gone was her childish appearance and conservative style choices. One would never have guessed that she use to wear cutesy dresses and skirts, pinning her hair neatly that her peers back in Japan often sported.

The most noticeable change was her...figure. It seems once she entered the country, she had underwent an metamorphosis that left her very womanly. .

Rin felt she had shed her old persona and life. She succeeded in reinventing herself. She now lived a life of excitement and promise. She had truly started over.

But deep down, almost ceasing to exists, she knew that there was a scared, guilty, ashamed little girl still living within herself. She had just gotten better at hiding it.

None of her friends, including her boyfriend, knew much of her life in Japan. They were told her parents sent to American to live with family friends named Mikuo and his girlfriend Meiko as to experience life aboard.

Mikuo and Meiko were amazing mentors to her. Not being a significantly more older than her, they did not keep tight tabs on her actions, but were always available to provide wisdom. They knew of the situation she was trying to escape. When she arrived, they were presented with a small and broken girl that had a broken heart full of pain and regret. But in the present, they can smile at the young women she transitioned into.

As said before, Rin was very pleased with the life she had made for herself. It was not an easy task to forget all the actions and emotions that lead her to create the biggest mistake of her life; falling in love with her brother, Len. She does not choose to discuss what had actually happen. You can bet your life that her four best friends in from America did not know what she has done, and as long as she can help it, they never find out.
