Author's Note: Hey guys! Here's chapter two done and ready! It's quite a bit longer than it was before but I think this one turned out great!

By the way, if you guys were confused as to why the other chapters disappeared, I deleted them because I felt that if I was editing some of them but left the other ones up as I went, it would become a little confusing to the reader to see two nearly completely different writing styles (both are still me I assure you, but the new one is vastly improved from the previous version in my opinion). Anyways, Let me know what you guys think! Again, all critics welcome! :)

They made it back to the castle in record time, even while avoiding the main roads so that no one would see what was resting now in Wolfram's arms. Günter was waiting at the gate when they arrived, and as soon as Yuuri hopped off Wolfram's horse he was immediately fluttering about asking a million questions at once. Yuuri by now had for the most part gotten used to his antics, but he did wish that Günter would just stop. That being said, Yuuri knew that it was just a part of his character so he usually kept his mouth closed and just let him rant away, knowing that just like with Wolfram, it would eventually pass. Wolfram though, didn't have the patience that he had and like always went off on Günter about getting to close to him. And like always Günter insisted on being close to Yuuri seeing as how he was an advisor, and that it was his responsibility to... Yuuri tuned out and glanced over at the bundle in Wolfram's arms.

After the fit she had at the shrine, she was now sleeping peacefully, not even flinching when Wolfram would jerk about. It did worry him a little though, so as kindly as he could, he spoke up.

"Hey Wolf?" Wolfram immediately cut off what he was saying and turned his attention to him. Yuuri was surprised how easily he could catch Wolfram's attention, but he chalked it up to the fact that Wolfram was just used to being attentive to authority with all of the training that he went through to become a soldier. "I understand you're concerned, but if you keep moving around like that, you'll wake her up."

Wolfram's eyes widened and he dropped his gaze to the infant, sighing with relief when he realized that she was still asleep. Yuuri would have been shocked that Wolfram didn't yell at him or something, but considering how loud she had screamed before, Yuuri knew that nobody wanted to incur her wrath , especially when they were trying to keep the child under wraps.

"Your majesty…" Günter trailed off, finally having noticed the new addition to the group.

"We'll explain once we get inside." Murata interjected, giving him his usual smile. Yuuri nodded in agreement, and together they headed straight for the office where Gwendal was waiting for them. Gwendal raised an eyebrow at the baby, but said nothing. Yuuri heard the door close behind him and he sighed in relief. He hated having to sneak around and keep secrets from everyone. He understood why it was necessary, but still.

Once they were all situated, Gwendal immediately began speaking.

"What happened?" Gwendal calmly, gazing steadily at Murata. Murata held his gaze for a moment before turning to the baby.

"This is the person who broke into the temple." Murata stated matter-of-factly, pointing his finger at her. Yuuri was shocked to say the least. Sure, they found her in the temple, but he figured that maybe someone dropped her off or she was abandoned by her parents or something like that. He never imagined that it could be the infant herself that had infiltrated the building.

"How could a baby break into the temple?" Wolfram questioned, echoing Yuuri's thoughts.

"The same way Shibuya and I came to this world, the water route." Murata replied simply. Yuuri balked at that. How could she have gone through the water portal? Not only could it be harsh on the body, but you needed magic to be able to go through it, and there's no way that a baby could open a portal by herself, so how did this one manage to do it?

Murata adjusted his glasses and continued. "Truthfully, we haven't figured out the details on how she got here. We were discussing some things in the temple when out of nowhere there was a bright light coming from the fountain pool and when we checked to see what was going on she was just floating in there. We took her out and sent a message to the castle immediately. The strange thing is, when we pulled her out of the pool, not only was she completely dry, her entire body was pure white and completely void of any recognizable features." He explained, eyeing the girl with mild curiosity. Yuuri suddenly flashed back to his own first encounter with the baby.

"She was like that when I first saw her too! Until-"

"Until Wolfram kneeled down next to you, then she somehow took on features from the both of you, under the illusion that you two are her parents." Murata finished for him. Yuuri blushed a little at that, still a little uncomfortable with the situation. He shook his head and tried to return his attention to the situation at hand.

"Is she demon tribe?" Gwendal asked, his face as stoic as usual but Yuuri knew that he was just as worried about this as the rest of them.

"It doesn't seem like it, but she's obviously not human either. I'm going to have to go back to the shrine to see if I can find anymore clues. In the meantime, keep a close eye on her. Since we don't know where she came from, we can't be sure that she's not dangerous" he said, his face finally becoming serious. Yuuri nodded in agreement, though he was still stumped as to why everyone at the shrine seemed so relaxed about it when they had arrived. Then again, a baby in any form can't be too much of a threat, can it? He wondered to himself, looking at the little problem herself right next to him. She really didn't seem like she could pose a real threat to anyone when she was sleeping so comfortably in Wolfram's arms. She twitched in her sleep, but immediately relaxed when Wolfram rubbed her side gently. Yuuri felt a smile trying to make its way on his face as he watched them, but refused to let it show. He didn't really understand why seeing Wolfram act so kind like that would make him happy, but it did. Then again, a kind Wolfram was better than a furious one, so Yuuri just assumed that he was feeling happy that he could relax for once since Wolfram was occupied with something other than him.

"I will help search for information about this in the library." Günter suggested, and Murata nodded in agreement.

"Please do." Murata replied, and with that Günter bowed and left.

"What should we do with the child in the mean time?" Conrad asked, making Yuuri jump since he had been so quiet so far. Murata smirked at him, making him a little flustered but he tried to cover the blush with a glare, but that only seemed to amuse him more. Murata's smirk changed into a smile suddenly, making Yuuri nervous. He knew that whatever Murata said next, it wasn't going to be pleasant for him.

"Well, since she seems to be so attached to those two already, I think it would be best to have her be with them for the time being, don't you think?" he inquired innocently, but Yuuri just knew that in the inside he was cackling maniacally like the evil genius that he was.

"But I don't know how to care for a child!" Yuuri couldn't help but shout, and immediately regretted it when he saw that his shout had startled the baby awake. Wolfram shushed her and rocked her, the movement slightly awkward. She let out a small whimper but didn't start crying this time, making Yuuri sigh in relief. Wolfram turned his attention to Yuuri, glaring harshly at him. Yuuri gulped nervously, knowing that Wolfram was not going to let that slip up go easily.

"Have you forgotten that we already have a daughter?" Wolfram hissed, the look in his eyes almost daring Yuuri to argue with him.

"No I haven't forgotten, but she was eight when we adopted her, not a baby! I don't know a thing about taking care of a baby." Yuuri replied, his voice cracking with anxiety. Normally he wouldn't continue to argue his point with Wolfram unless it was a dire situation, but he couldn't help but feel some trepidation with raising a baby. Sure, they had Greta, but when they had taken her in she was already at an age where she could pretty much take care of herself. This was a baby we were talking about! Babies needed constant care and supervision. They were fully dependent on their care giver for everything, and Yuuri knew next to nothing about taking care of a baby. How could he do this? He wasn't ready for that kind of responsibility! He was only twenty one! He was just barely old enough to be considered an adult on earth.

"So? Anyone can take care of a baby you stupid wimp! It's not that hard." Wolfram countered. Yuuri was about to say something else but stopped when he saw how stressed they were making the baby with their arguing. Her face was bright red and before anyone could say anything she started wailing at the top of her lungs. She was so loud that Yuuri almost had to cover his ears from the resonation of the room. Yuuri suspected that her voice, like her eye color, had been magically inherited from Wolfram, and if they didn't do something fast, their ear drums just might burst.

Oh yeah, he thought sarcastically, we're off to a great start!

"Hey don't cry." Wolfram comforted awkwardly, rocking her back and forth. The baby ignored him completely and just kept on crying. She began wriggling dangerously in Wolfram's arms, and Yuuri was afraid that she would wiggle right out of them if they didn't calm her down quickly.

"Hey, it's okay, nobody's mad anymore, see?" Yuuri tried, smiling widely. She calmed down a little, the cries turning into small whimpers and tears falling down her face as she stared back at him. Yuuri offered his finger to her, making sure to move slowly so he didn't startle her again. She grabbed at it and inspected the finger before pulling it into her mouth and sucking on it.

"That's peculiar." Murata said quietly, making Yuuri jump. He had been so focused on her that he had completely forgotten about everyone else in the room.

"What is?" Yuuri asked, not moving his hand from the little girl's grasp.

"Well, it's just that when the baby first broke in, she was about the size of a three month old, but know she seems almost twice that size. Coupled with her features changing so drastically when you arrived, it's rather intriguing." Murata said, giving the infant a once over as he was speaking.

"What do you think it means?" Conrad questioned gently, looking over the small bundle as well.

"For now it means we keep a close eye on her until we know the details. I may have a few ideas, but until they are solid I want her to be checked regularly by Gisela every day, checking her weight and height along with her vitals. If she can change her size and features so quickly, we can only assume that she'll keep doing it. Then again she may not." The sage replied, moving towards the door. "I'm going to look for some leads. In the meantime, please try not to kill each other." He said with a knowing smile directed at the royal couple. Yuuri sputtered, unintentionally pulling his hand away from the baby in his surprise, but before he could come up with something Murata was already gone.

Yuuri sighed and turned to the now quiet baby in Wolfram's arms, noticing the soft smile playing on the blonde's lips as he played with the now happy little girl. Yuuri couldn't help but notice how pretty the blond looked when he smiled and how- Yuuri stopped the thought before it went any further, fearing where it could lead. Where were all these thoughts coming from all of a sudden? Okay, maybe they weren't so sudden, but they were certainly coming up more frequently than they had in the past. Not wanting to think about the implications of his own thoughts, he turned his attention back to the little girl. Now that everything had calmed down a little bit, Yuuri could see just how adorable she actually was.

"We should give her a name." he said out of the blue, catching everyone in the room off guard. Not fazed by his fiancé's randomness. Yuuri ignored them and just kept looking at her. Even if they didn't know what or who she was, it wasn't really fare to just keep calling her baby or 'it', so he wanted to find a name that would suit her. Wolfram scoffed at him.

"It just so happens that I have already decided what name would suit her." Yuuri blinked in surprise, not expecting Wolfram of all people to be thinking about something like a name. He was always suspicious of people and it took a while for him to warm up to strangers, so for him to be thinking of a name rather than thinking of a way to keep her away was a surprise. Then again, he had been opening up more and more with others, and had even quelled his prejudice against humans, though it sometimes resurfaced every now and again. You can't really change a way of thinking just like that after all. Yuuri wondered off handedly why it was that Wolfram had made these changes since they had first met.

"Oh? And what name is that?" Conrad asked, pulling Yuuri out of his own head and back into the conversation. Wolfram rolled his eyes at the amused tone in Conrad's voice, but answered him anyway.

"Melony." He replied. The baby gurgled happily, waving her hands around as if in approval of her new name. Yuuri chuckled and patted her head. The baby immediately reached for his hand and he gave it to her. He almost started laughing at how closely she was looking at his hand, as if examining a science experiment.

"I think she likes it." Yuuri said, smiling at the newly named Melony. She smiled back at him and took one of his fingers into her mouth again, suckling on it.

"Well of course she likes it! I came up with it after all." Wolfram replied snidely, a smug look overtaking his face.

"To be honest, I'm surprised you settled on that name. I would have expected you to give her a funny name like Esmeralda or something." Yuuri cursed internally at his slip up, knowing exactly what the blond would do next.

"What are you saying? That I am unable to give our child something as simple as a good name? That I am unfit to be a parent?!" Wolfram glared at him with a vengeance, making Yuuri wince. Me and my big mouth, he whined in his head, but before he could say anything to fix the situation, they heard a wail that immediately halted their bickering.

The baby, or Melony as she was named now, had huge tears streaming down from her wide emerald eyes. Apparently she was extremely sensitive to their emotions, and would cry if they started yelling at each other. He had heard that children could be pretty sensitive to their parent's emotions but he didn't think that a child as small as she was could pick up emotions like that from others.

Wolfram tried rocking the baby gently to calm her but she was having none of it. She just kept wailing, and before Yuuri could try anything, Gwendal spoke up.

"Take the baby back to your chambers and keep it quiet before the whole castle finds out." He growled. Apparently his affinity for cute things was completely over shadowed by his hatred for annoying sounds.

Yuuri nodded and without another word yanked Wolfram out of his seat and dragged him out of the room. As soon as they stepped into the hallway they both made a run for it, taking the short cut and dodging people as best as they could. Yuuri looked behind him and found that Melony wasn't crying anymore. Actually, she seemed to be enjoying the ride that Wolfram was unintentionally giving her as they were running around the castle. He had to admit that for a little intruder, Melony sure was adorable, albeit a little weird.

He turned away to watch what was in front of him, making sure that nobody was ahead of them. He saw a maid up ahead with a basket full of laundry and panicked. He yanked Wolfram to the side, hiding behind a pillar and waited for her to pass. He knew they weren't exactly quiet about it, but thankfully it seemed that she hadn't noticed them and had already left. Yuuri sighed in relief and was about to start running again when he realized that they were only a few steps from his bed chambers.

They hurried into the room and closed the door behind them. Yuuri locked it just in case, and leaned against the door for support as he tried to catch his breath. He was in great shape, but even he was exhausted from running from one end of the castle to the other, not to mention all the stress of trying to stay out of sight from the castle staff had made him extra tense.

"Man, even after all this time Gwendal still is scary." He panted, feeling his lungs ache slightly with the effort of trying to talk. Too bad that wasn't the only thing that hurt at that very moment. "Ow! What did I do now?"

"You idiot! You nearly made me drop the baby when you yanked me out of the hallway!" Wolfram scolded, his tenor voice absolutely ringing off of the walls of the room. He was still panting slightly from having run all over the castle, but his voice was still clear as a bell.

Yuuri's eyes widened comically, and immediately he rushed over to Melony. "Oh God! Is she okay? Is she hurt anywhere? Oh man, I'm so sorry!"

He knew he was rambling, but he was too worried to care at the moment. How could he have been so stupid! This is exactly why he didn't think he was fit for this kind of responsibility. Even he had to admit that he could be a bit of an airhead at times. He would just get tunnel vision and sometimes completely forget the world around him while he was focusing on what he felt he need to at the time. Could he really care for an infant with that kind of flaw?

"Yuuri calm down! Melony is fine, see?" Wolfram said, showing Yuuri that the baby was indeed healthy as could be. Yuuri sighed in relief, rubbing his index finger across Melony's head affectionately. "However, I am glad to see you are taking your parenting role seriously for once."

Yuuri rolled his eyes at that. Wolfram just had to make a snarky comment. Yuuri decided to ignore his impulse to retort, though admittedly it wasn't all that easy to do. Wolfram handed Melony over to him suddenly and walked over to the cabinet.

"I'm going to go take a bath before dinner." He said, pulling his spare uniform and an extra towel.

"What? You're going to leave me with her?" He could feel the nervousness and apprehension seeping through his veins. What if something went wrong?

"Wimp, all you have to do is watch her for a while, it's not that hard." Wolfram dismissed with a wave of his hand. Yuuri wasn't convinced

"But what if she gets upset and starts crying again? I don't think I can-"

"Yuuri relax, you'll be fine. She's pretty quiet right now and I won't be gone for very long anyway. You just have to watch her for twenty, thirty minutes tops, okay?" Wolfram comforted, putting a reassuring hand on his shoulder. Yuuri sighed, seeing no way out of it.

"Okay, I'll try." He said, his anxiety ebbing slightly.

"Good. I'll be out in a while." Wolfram removed his hand and headed towards the bath. Yuuri sighed as he felt the warmth of where Wolfram's hand had been recede. He nervously looked down at Melony, who was returning his stare with tearful eyes. Worry overtaking his nerves, he held her closer to his chest and tried to rock her.

"Oh no, it's okay. I'm here." Yuuri comforted, rubbing her side like Wolfram had earlier. She had seemed to like it at the time so he hoped that it would help him now.

"Daddy?" she whimpered, reaching her hands up. Yuuri bend his head down a little so she could reach his face.

"Yes, I'm here, Daddy's here." He replied, holding one of her tiny hands in his own. He felt a slight stirring in his belly in that title, similar to the time when Greta first called him 'Papa'. He was surprised with himself that he could already feel so attached to Melony when they had literally just met, but then again he had felt the same way when he interacted with Greta when they first met, so was it really all that strange? To feel an overwhelming need to protect the little girl at any cost? He figured that it was only natural to feel that as a parent, but then again most parents have a little more forewarning than he did, so should it really be this instantaneous?

He smiled when Melony gave a happy gurgle as she patted his face clumsily. He leaned his head down further and tickled her tummy with his nose, making her scream in delight. He lifted Melony just above his head, laughing and playing with her.

After about ten minutes of playing together Melony yawned, seemingly exhausted from all of the excitement they had earlier. Yuuri smiled and softly rocked her, humming a random tune. She quickly passed out, her hand slacking in his grip. Yuuri rubbed his thumb across the soft skin of her tiny hand, studying her face quietly. He could definitely see his own features in her, what with her black wisps of hair and the color of her skin, but her nose and eyes were definitely Wolfram's. She seemed to be a perfect mixture of the two of them, though he had a sneaking suspicion that her temperament would be similar if not match Wolfram's. It was crazy to think that she not only looked like the both of them, but had literally changed to look like a mixture of the two of them, as if she were genetically related to them. He wondered once again what she actually was. He supposed that type of ability could be seen as alarming and make others wary of her, but other than how she arrived and her change in looks she seemed to act like any other baby would, so is she really a threat at all?

He kissed her head and nuzzled his nose against her head, deciding that whatever she may turn out to be, he was going to try to raise her as he would with any child in his care and try to teach her everything he could about the world around them.

"I told you that you could do it." Wolfram commented from behind him, making him jump about a foot in the air. He clutched Melony closer to his chest protectively turned to look at Wolfram.

"Don't scare me like that when I'm holding her!" Yuuri scolded in a whisper, missing how Wolfram was smiling at him. He calmed down after a minute and turned back to Melony who was still sound asleep in his arms. "It's crazy how much she looks like us, isn't it?"

Wolfram hummed in agreement, brushing his fingers across her forehead. Yuuri looked at Wolfram for a moment. "Do you think she could really pose a threat to the kingdom like this?"

Wolfram paused for a moment, pulling his hand back as he thought about it. "It's still a possibility. But…" he trailed off, as if lost in his own thoughts for a moment. "If the Great Sage believes that she is safe enough to have us keep an eye on her than I suppose she can't be to dangerous."

Yuuri agreed with him. He didn't really want to think that Melony, or any child really, could be a threat when they are so young and assumed innocent, but he also knew that they couldn't afford to let their guard down in order to keep the Demon Kingdom and all its inhabitants safe, even if the potential danger was a child. His stomach churned at the thought. As king, he knew what his duties were, but as a person, it was really hard sometimes to treat someone like an outsider just because they were a stranger. It really went against his nature as a person.

Yuuri was pulled out of his thoughts by a gentle touch on his face. He refocused his eyes and saw that Wolfram was looking at him in concern. Yuuri tried to smile to cover his own worries, but he could tell that Wolfram wasn't buying it. Surprisingly enough Wolfram didn't say anything or try to make him talk, but instead carefully took Melony from his arms and set her on the bed, forming a nest around her with pillows and a quilt so she wouldn't be able to fall off.

"We need to get some baby supplies." Yuuri blurted, not really knowing how to start their conversation again. Wolfram didn't seem fazed though and tilted his head in thought.

"I don't think any of the shops in the market would be open at this time of day." Wolfram said, looking out the window. Yuuri followed his gaze and was surprised that it was already this late.

"What should we do then? We can't have her sleep in the bed with us, and the room that we were fixing for Greta still isn't done yet." Yuuri asked. Greta had a room made for her when she first arrived, but when parts of the castle were destroyed when Shouri lost control of his powers a while ago her room was no longer in livable condition. Though the construction was finished, they still had to fix the leaking ceiling and clean the mold that had grown over time because of its lack of use.

"I don't want her to stay in Greta's room anyway since it's too far away from here and we wouldn't be able to hear her if she cried in the middle of the night or something." Wolfram replied. Yuuri nodded in agreement. "But it could be possible that my mother kept some of the things from when my brothers and I were children, so we could probably use that for the time being until we can go to the market to pick up what she'll need."

"Do you think she would have kept it for so long?" Yuuri wondered aloud. Cecilie was a good person and all, but when it came to material things she had a tendency to cycle through a lot of items as new things caught her interest.

"I'm not entirely sure, but she can be rather sentimental at times so maybe she did keep them." Wolfram answered, and he had a point. Though she was a fan of material things, she was a true romantic at heart so for Cecilie to have kept her sons' baby things all these years wouldn't be that far out of the realm of possibility. "You should change before we head to dinner."

Yuuri nodded and immediately took his jacket off as he headed for the dresser. His nose wrinkled in disgust when he felt his undershirt literally peel off of his body, but he knew that he wouldn't have time to bath right now so he just took a cloth from the bureau and wetted it with soap and water to quickly wipe off the sweat. He dried himself off quickly and pulled a clean shirt on quickly and grabbed a new jacket, planning on putting it on as he walked to save time. He turned and found Wolfram waiting for him by the door, Melony already in hand. He walked over to join him when he noticed that Wolfram's face was a little flushed.

"Hey Wolf, are you okay?" He asked innocently. Wolfram scowled but refused to look at him.

"Hurry up and put your coat on idiot, we're already late." He muttered and walked out the door. Yuuri tilted his head in confusion but shrugged it off and quickly yanked on his jacket before hurrying out the door to catch up with Wolfram. He wondered briefly why Wolfram had seemed so embarrassed but decided to not dwell on it and instead focused on making sure that the castle staff didn't see Melony as they headed to the dining hall.
