Wow. I am so sorry this took so long to update. It's hard to end something like that and then not know how to continue on from there. BUT I got it now! This is really just a filler of Soul getting adjusted to his new life in the boarding school. This is about 5 pages less than last chapter and I'm sorry for that, but as the story gets moving again they should get longer.
Thanks for being patient!
Disclaimer: Nope.

The snow haired boy gazed her from across the room before taking another step forward. "Is that really you?"
Maka let out a small huff of air, her mouth turned up into a surprised smile. She bobbed her head as tears started to weld in her eyes. "Yeah. It's me."
They hadn't even realized they had moved so close to one another. But within a second Soul's arms were wrapped around her tightly. Maka let her eyes drift shut as she wrapped her own arms around the boy. He squeezed her waist as he buried his nose into her hair. "You have no idea how glad I am to see you."
She giggled sloppily from her tears running down her cheeks. She merely shook her head at him. "I might have a little idea."
"I can't believe you're really here." Soul whispered into her blonde locks.
She sighed, "I'm pretty sure that I should be saying that to you. I've been going to school here for five years and suddenly you're here. I can't believe it either…"
He lifted his head from hers and tilted her head up to his; he gave a soft smile before pressing his lips to hers. She responded eagerly, moving her arms from around his chest to his shoulders. She raised herself on her toes to achieve better access. Slowly, Soul began pushing her backwards until her knees hooked on the bed and she fell back on her butt. He leaned over her, pressing kisses to her lips over and over. Just as he moved to press her down to the bed, she stopped him. He pulled back and cocked a brow, "What is it?"
Maka lowered her voice, "We can't. Not now. The dorm adviser is going to come in here soon to make sure everyone is getting along with their roommates. I think we'll be getting along a little too well."
Soul nodded and gave a small gulp, "Yeah… that wouldn't be too great."
Her lips inched up, "I'm sure you can wait, right?"
The snow haired boy gave a small groan, "I guess so."
Maka ran her fingers through his hair, "Good boy."
"Let me get this straight, this is the guy that banged you? And he's here at our school now? And he's your roommate?"
"Black Star, I swear to God if you don't stop calling it that then I am going to smack you with a dictionary." Maka growled.
The teal haired teenager raised his hands in defense, "Hey, I'm just trying to get things cleared up. I mean, those are really extreme odds, aren't they?"
Maka nodded in response, "They are, but it happened. I'm not going to try to change it."
"Ooh la, la someone's gonna be up all night fucking each other's brains out. I'd hate to be in the dorms near you guys. I bet Maka's a screamer-ow!"
"I told you I was going to hit you!" Maka screeched as she placed her book back down on the bench.
"Come on, Maka, lighten up. You're the one who had sex last. Don't be a sour puss about it. I'm just giving you the same treatment I gave everyone else. You are the only one being a pansy." Black Star taunted.
"You are so lucky we're friends, or else I would've killed you in your sleep years ago."
The boy held up his hands in defense once again, "And for that I am grateful. I swear."
"Maka." Soul finally spoke up.
"Yes?"
The white haired teen flopped an arm over Black Star's shoulder, "I like this guy."
"Ugh!"
Maka sat in the dorm lounge with Tsubaki. The two shared a bag of chips and watched the TV together. Tsubaki glanced over at Maka, "Hey is everything going to be okay with you rooming with Soul?"
Maka shrugged, "I don't see why it wouldn't be okay."
"Well with you two being," Tsubaki dropped her voice, "sexual active things could get complicated."
The blonde looked at her confused, "What do you mean?"
She sighed, "I know you're new to the relationship thing, Maka, but you just need to be careful. You need to use protection and you have to be discreet. If you get caught, you'll be expelled. You know that, right?"
Maka sighed, "Yeah I know. I think the sex we had was more of a spur of the moment thing. I don't know if I'm ready to do it again."
"I understand, but you really think you won't do it again?"
The blonde girl shook her head, "Not right now. I know Soul would like to, but I'm here for school not for Soul. He just comes with the package, I guess you could say."
"More than one package…"
Maka's mouth dropped her friend as she gasped, "Tsubaki!"
Her friend just giggled, "I think I've been around Black Star too long."
"Yeah. I think so too!" Maka sneered.
"So Soul, how do you like school here?" Black Star asked as he grabbed a soda from the mini fridge. "Want one?" He asked, gesturing to the soda.
"Nah, I'm good. But this school is much nicer than my old one, even if it is a school for kids with 'special talents'." Soul paused for a moment, "Speaking of which, what's yours?"
"You could say I'm a ninja."
Soul snorted, "You got into a high ranking talent school because you're a ninja?"
"Yeah, but it's actually because I'm a black belt in a few different forms of martial arts. According to this school, that is pretty impressive for a sixteen year old. They actually have a martial arts class here, so I guess it worked out."
Soul gave a shrug, "Wow. I guess that works. What about you Kid?"
The black haired teen remained silent, too focused on what he was writing down on his paper. Black Star rolled his eyes, "Kid's a genius. He's also extremely OCD. Everything has to be even and perfectly 'symmetrical' or the guy has a mental breakdown. His dad is also the dean."
Kid glanced upward at Black Star, "Excuse me for wanting everything to be perfect. You could never understand."
"I don't really want to understand." Black Star grumbled.
Soul snickered before leaning back in his chair, "So can I ask how Maka got into this school?"
The other teen seemed shocked at the boy, "Are you kidding? You can't tell the girl has a 4.0 GPA and lives in books? She's a genius too. I don't understand how someone can be so skinny when all they do is sit in the dark and read all day."
"Well it does explain why she is as pale as a sheet." Kid chimed in.
Soul held up his hands, "Hey now, this is my girlfriend we're talking about."
Black Star grinned, "We're not insulting her, just stating the facts. She's pretty pale."
"But she's a cute pale."
The teal haired boy gave a grimace, "Sorry man, I don't consider Maka cute in any way, and I've known her for years."
"Well I guess that's a positive, so I don't have to worry about you stealing my girl." Soul joked to the other guys.
"Ew man, I don't want Maka. She's such a nerd. I can't do nerds. But apparently you did her just fine."
"Har har, you're hilarious."
"I know, I'm the great and wonderful Black Star!" He screeched.
"I'm starting to understand why Maka finds you so obnoxious."
Soul was actually surprised as he headed back to his dorm. He honestly had no idea that grades were the reason that Maka had gotten into this school. He surely thought that she could sing or act or something like that. He genuinely thought that Maka belonged on stage. Maybe it's because she's extremely over dramatic about things. He knew she liked to read, but that didn't stand out to him as something that could refer to a talent. She was reading Shakespeare when they were at the beach, which has to do with theater doesn't it?
"What are you thinking so hard about?"
Soul paused in his steps when he heard the voice. He turned his head to see Maka sitting on a bench outside the front of their dorm with a book in her lap.
"Maka, I didn't even notice you there."
The blonde smiled, "Ha, yeah I'm used to being invisible."
The boy shook his head, "No, don't say that." He strode over to her and took a seat. "So…" Soul shoved his hands in his pockets, "Black Star tells me that you got into this school because of grades."
Maka closed her book slightly and twisted one of her pigtails with her fingers, "Yeah. I guess you could say that. My dad really wanted me to come to this school. He thought I'd be better off here."
"Oh, why is that?"
She sighed, "Because he works here."
Soul was taken aback, "Your dad works here?!"
Maka glanced away to the side, "Yeah…"
"Didn't you say he's an asshole and a man whore?"
"Shhh!" Maka hissed, "Don't say those kinds of things out here. He's everywhere. He'll hear you."
Soul snickered at the girl, "Wow. Paranoid much?"
The blonde let out a sigh, "You really don't understand. He appears from nowhere."
Soul let out a small chuckle before scooting closer to her. He gently took her hand, "Does your dad know about us?"
Maka shook her head quickly, "No. And he can't know. If he knew he'd tell the dean and we'd both be given new roommates."
The boy sighed, "Yeah, I guess you're right."
"Soul, I really hope you end up happy here. But we really can't let this relationship get in the way of our schooling, you know?"
He was slightly surprised at her saddened tone, "Who said it's going to be in the way? Maka, I really like you and I'll do everything I can to prove that to you."
Maka shyly slide her hand out of his, "Then we can't do this 'relationship' thing in public. I don't want anyone telling my dad."
"But… I…" he sighed, "Alright. Done. No PDA at all. I'll struggle with all my might to not be your boyfriend during the day."
"…Did you say 'boyfriend'?"
"Am I not your boyfriend?"
Maka froze before chewing her lip. She took a moment before responding, "I guess you are."
"You guess?" Soul felt a bit hurt by her statement.
"I just… I've never had one before."
"Yeah, well, I guess I'll be your first for a lot of things then, right?" He replied with a wiggle of his eyebrows.
Maka scrunched her face, slammed her book closed, and smacked it across Soul's head. Her face flushed, "Don't say something like that!"
Soul clutched his head but smiled with wince, "There's my Maka."
She slapped him on the arm, "What do you mean 'your Maka'!? I told you not to be all lovey dovey in public!"
Soul slammed a hand over her mouth, "Maka, you're the one making a scene."
The blonde paused and noticed a few other students staring in her direction. Maka sunk into the bench in embarrassment and slowly covered her face with her book. She curled her body into a ball, away from Soul. Her only chuckled at her, "Oh come on, there's no need to run away. You want to head to our dorm?"
Maka nodded slightly as she continued to hide in humiliation. Soul grabbed her arm and helped her off the bench. The two made their way into their dorm room.
Maka plummeted onto her bed and groaned, "I'm so stupid."
"C'mon Maka, the only people that saw were a few kids. And unless they were eavesdropping, they have no idea what was going on. It's not like our relationship is in danger or anything."
The girl sat up quietly, "I'm not known for outbursts though."
Soul cocked his head in confusion as he took a seat next her on her bed, "What?"
"I'm Mr. Albarn's 'quiet genius child'. And I like being that. If I start acting outgoing or overly emotional, people will think there is something wrong with me."
The white haired boy let out a loud snort, "Maka, they probably think there is something wrong with you for not showing emotions. You need to come out of that shell of yours. You can't hide in it forever."
"Soul the only people I've really come out of my shell to is Tsubaki and…you."
Soul placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, "Start being yourself. It's not hard for you. You have an amazing personality. I didn't exactly approach you because you had a pretty face."
She stared blankly at him, "Soul. Did you just call me ugly?"
His eyes widened with panic, "What?! No! Is that how is came across? I'm sorry I didn't mean-"
Maka slammed a hand over his mouth, "Calm down, I know you didn't mean that."
"You bitch."
"Hey now! Name calling is not nice!"
"Well you're not nice. You tricked me into feeling bad. That's not a nice thing." Soul huffed with a cross of his arms.
"Soul?" Her voice was quiet.
"What?"
"Why did you approach me that day at the beach?"
"I told you, because you looked lonely."
She gazed at him, "Was that really why?"
He shrugged slightly, "Well yeah… I mean I did think you were cute, and I didn't think someone like you should be sitting alone like that. Not with all those other assholes that were at the lake."
Maka grinned slightly, "So you did it cause you thought I was prey to other men?"
"Sorta? But you were lonely."
"Yeah I guess I was."
"Aren't you glad I did? Because now we have each other, right?" He placed a hand on her leg, "I'll do whatever I can to make you happy, Maka. I promise. That's what cool guys do."
She snorted, "You're all about being cool, aren't you?"
"Well if I was uncool, I'd be a loser, like Black Star."
Maka laughed this time, "Now that's just mean. Black Star can be annoying, but he's not a loser."
"I know, it was a joke. How long have you two known each other anyway?"
She paused in thought, "Six years, I think? We met each other when we were younger. I've actually known Kid even longer because my dad works for his."
Soul nodded, "Yeah they told me that his dad is the dean."
"Yeah I really like him."
Soul was really done with all this small talk. She had pulled herself away from him, but now he knew why. He was going to take a chance here and if she rejected him then that would be okay. He lifted Maka's chin and turned her head towards him. He pressed his lips to hers gently, hoping she wouldn't run away. Maka actually melted into his kiss and wound her arms around his neck. His lips danced with hers and she responded eagerly. Soul reached for hair and threaded his fingers into it. He gently messaged her head as he held her. Maka shyly pulled her head back from his, a red hue on her cheeks. She opened her mouth awkwardly, "I…I think I should go to bed now."
"You sure?"
"Y-Yeah. I'm going to the bathroom to change." She said quickly as she scurried out of the room with pajamas in her hands.
Soul felt slightly abandoned, but he also felt prideful of the blushing, red face of his girlfriend. The next time he got further with her, he would prove that he loved her. Not spur of the moment "I don't know when I'll ever see you again" sex. Real love. He'd make sure of it.
