"Hey Lara?" Sam asked from the door. She was reading, doing some research for the next hunt, when he appeared. She looked up at him. He was leant against the door frame wearing his usual shirt and trousers, but something was off. He was wearing a beanie hat, covering his long, brown hair.
"Yeah?" Lara asked, putting the bookmark down on her page.
"I was… well, I mean, if it's not too much… I would… I mean-" He sighed and she giggled.
"Sam, sit. Tell me what's up." He moved and sat opposite her at the table. He looked uncomfortable, but she wasn't sure why. She'd known the Winchester boys for years. They saved her and when they asked for help, she agreed to tag along. She never really stopped liking those boys. There was always something interesting going on.
He sighed again. "Okay, look." He removed the hat he was wearing. "I need a haircut."
He paused. Lara expected him to carry on, but he didn't.
"Okay?" She prompted him to continue.
"And I don't trust the barbers to cut it to the right length."
"Okay…" she repeated.
"So… will you do it?"
She hesitated.
"What?"
"You always cut your own hair, so I figured you had more experience!" He explained. "I just don't trust anyone else to do it. And Dean would just cut it all off. Please…?"
She thought about it. She wanted to, she really did! But she didn't trust herself. The teen looked down at her hands. They weren't exactly the steadiest hands in the world. The only reason she managed to cut her hair so well, is because it's so short, no one really notices if it pieces were at different lengths than the rest.
"Sam… I don't—", she was cut short when she looked up at him. He was giving her the puppy dog eyes. God damn it, she could never resist them. "Oh, fine. But just this once!" She warned. He smiled slightly as she stood to get the scissors.
"Sam! Lara! I'm back!" Dean called, carrying the shopping in by himself. He placed the bags down on the table. He heard no response from his two companions, but he could hear muffled noises from the back room. Confused and curious, he approached the slightly ajar door slowly. As he got closer, he started to make out some of the words.
"Please be careful!"
"Stop moving!"
"I can't help it; you're making me nervous!"
"Stop it, or I will lose my Shit!"
"Okay, I'm sorry."
"Just stay still…"
"Oh, I can't watch this."
Dean entered just in time to see the lock of hair fall to the floor.
"What is going on here?" he said.
"Dean?!" Sam sounded panicked. Dean's mind began wondering off in all directions as to what was going on here. He didn't want to think that Lara was threatening him, but it's a possibility. She DOES have a pair of scissors in her hand.
"You move and I'll cut your ear off." Lara threatened Sam before turning to Dean. "Sam doesn't trust anyone cutting his hair and wanted me to do it, but now he's being a baby and won't stop fretting." She explained to Dean. He slowly nodded his head and left the room after muttering a small "o…kay".
"Is he gone?" Sam asked.
"Yeah, now let me do this."
Sam let out a shaky breath. "Okay…"
It didn't take long to cut his hair. Lara managed to get it all in a good length and all even. Dean walked in with some sort of snack; Lara didn't know what it was, but it smelt terrible.
"Okay. I think I'm done." She said, standing back and placing the scissors out of reach. Dean looked over and watched for Sam's reaction, but he was yet to open his eyes.
"Sammy. You can open your eyes now." He said with a mouthful of food. Sam's hands were gripped tightly around the seat of his chair as he slowly opened his eyes. When he saw what Lara had done to him, he relaxed. Thankfully, she had cut it perfectly.
He sighed, turning his head in different directions to examine Lara's handiwork. "Ah, thanks Lara. That's perfect." He stood up and hugged her.
"Oh, uh, that okay, I guess?" She said uncomfortably patting him lightly on the back. He let go and looked down at the hair on the floor.
"I should clean that up." Lara said, going to fetch the vacuum cleaner, or Hoover as they called it in England.
"Oh, no. Let me. It's my hair, after all." Sam said, going to leave.
"Hey Sammy." Dean said, catching Sam's attention. "Looks good."
"Was that a compliment?"
"It's the only one you're ever gonna get off me, princess." He said going back to his food. Lara chuckled, shook her head and cleaned up Sam's hair.
