France and I were, in fact, not late. Everyone had had a rough flight over and they decided to postpone the meeting for a later hour. I took my seat beside big brother Ivan and pulled my notes out from my briefcase. The usual was happening, France and England were bickering, Greece was sleeping, northern Italy was going on about pasta, and everyone else, excluding Japan of course, was messing around. I watched Germany as he slammed his hands down on the table.

"Zhat is enough!" he yelled, "Since I am zhe only vone here who actually knows how to run a meeting, I vill go first."

I dozed off soon after this, seeing as how big brother Ivan always did the talking for me anyways, so I was shocked when I heard big brother calling my name. I looked around.

"What?"

"It is your turn little sister," Ivan explained.

"O-oh I didn't know it was my turn to speak," I apologized.

I droned on about what I was willing to do to help both my own country and other countries to help solve whatever problem we were speaking about.

"Zhank you Anzhelika," Germany said, calling me by my human name.

I simply stared at him and then remembered we were one of the only countries that were called by our human names because there were two of us.

"Da, you are welcome Germany," I replied politely.

After the meeting concluded, Italy ran up to me and tackled me to the ground with a hug. The room went quiet, everyone afraid that I was going to burst out and attack little Italy. I smiled up at the overly hyper country and returned the hug. Almost everyone sighed in relief. Unknown to them, I would protect the Italian with my life, he was the one true friend I had.

"Ve, what are you thinking about Anzhelika?" Italy said peering down at me.

His words brought me out of my thoughts.

"Just about how much you mean to me little Italy," I smiled kindly at him, unlike my fake smile that was plastered onto my face all the time.

"Really?! I didn't know I meant that much to you! I will try harder to live up to your expectations as a friend."

"Italy, you have already surpassed those expectations by simply being my friend," I chuckled.

Before he could say anything, Germany called to him saying they had to leave now. He mock frowned and walked over to him before waving goodbye to me. I waved back and turned to my brother.

"I didn't know you were friends with such weak countries," he stared down at me.

"It's better than your 'friends'," I said making air quotes.

"Let's go," he said, the feeling in the room becoming slightly darker.
