A/N: In this chapter, you may notice some words are in Italics and are followed by a (?). These are human actions that the Personas are making even though they can't physically do it. The other Personas can tell what they're doing, kind of like how you can tell how your friends might be acting on the other end of a phone call or text message.
Example: Grin (?), He isn't actually grinning, for example Jiraiya doesn't have a mouth, but the other Personas can tell that he would be if he could.
Chapter 2
A few days later, Izanagi and Jiraiya were relaxing in the lobby, occupying themselves with their own thoughts. Izanagi had just finished a brief conversation with his user, and was mentally sorting and reviewing the knowledge they had gained about the Mystery and the TV world thus far. Jiraiya was idly fiddling with his magic, summoning handfuls of green flames that didn't produce any heat, so he assumed it was Wind-based magic. His mind was obviously elsewhere, if his lecherous grin (?) as anything to go on. He wasn't grinning, per say, considering his lack of an obvious mouth, but Izanagi could just tell. It wasn't helped by the fact that his room was stacked with magazines of… less than modest women. As a matter of fact, one such magazine was laying open in the frog-ninja's lap, and the Magician Persona stole an extended glance many times over the past hour, much to Izanagi's chagrin.
"Jiraiya, do you have to display that kind of material so openly around me? I have no interest in ogling indecently dressed human girls."
The Shinto god complained with a level tone, one that doesn't quite touch the combination of frustration and exasperation he held at the fact the Ninja had yet again ignored his warning about reading that kind of magazine outside of his private room.
"Hey, this is some quality reading material, Partner! Just relax a little; I'm sure you'll find something you like!"
The frog-ninja teased, waving the magazine at him at little. Izanagi just groaned and slapped a clawed hand onto his face, or the front of this helmet at least. The sound of the door opening got his attention as the entrance doors opened onto the swirling red and black vortex and a yellow-clad figure stepped though. Izanagi and Jiraiya both rose from their seats and walked over to introduce themselves. The sound of movement alerted the yellow figure to their presence, and she turned to look at them. The figure was definitely female, as evidenced by the skin-tight yellow jumpsuit and long black hair, and she wore a tall, pointed white helmet with a shaded visor, leaving only a faint silhouette of her face and a pair of glowing yellow eyes, and a white samurai-style armour skirt on her hips. Izanagi also noted the strange weapon she carried; a golden, double ended spear with curved, scimitar-like blades.
"Hey, the name's Tomoe, Chariot Arcana and Chie's Persona." The yellow ninja woman introduced herself.
"Izanagi. Fool Arcana and Persona of Yu. A pleasure." He said in a welcoming tone, holding out his hand for him to shake, which she did before turning to Jiraiya. The frog-ninja went for a handshake, not realising he was still holding his less-than-respectable magazine.
"You can call me Jiraiya. I'm Yosuke's Magician Arcana!"
Tomoe narrowed her eyes at the magazine before she realised what it was and glared at it. Jiraiya followed her eyes and saw what the object of her ire was. In his surprise, he dropped it and it landed open, on a double page that could make a paid stripper blush. There was a tense moment of silence as Izanagi covered his face with a clawed hand, Tomoe tensed in anger and Jiraiya stood shell-shocked.
"Jiraiya…" Tomoe began, shaking slightly. The frog-ninja looked at her nervously.
"I…hate…PERVERTS!" she shouted, swinging her boot straight into the poor Persona's crotch on the last word of her sentence. Hard.
At the same time, Human World:
Yosuke, Yu and Chie were discussing recent events at their not-so-secret meeting place, the Junes food court.
"So, what do th…AHHHH!" Yosuke started, before he yowled in pain and fell off of the bench, holding his crotch in agony. Chie looked shocked and Yu stoically leaned over the table to check on him.
"What happened?" he asked plainly.
The Magician shouted back in pain. "I felt like Chie just gave me a power-kick to the nads!" he cried, glaring at said tom-boy.
"Huh!?" The Chariot squeaked in confusion. "I didn't do anything!"
Yu just sighed and closed his eyes and asked Izanagi 'what just happened?'
Back at Hotel Persona, after a very quick conversation:
Izanagi gave a quick glance at the crumpled form of Jiraiya and the fuming Tomoe and sighed the exact same way his user did previously.
"While I enjoy seeing the fool being put in his place, can you refrain from being violent towards one another? It seems that anything that happens here also affects our users. "
Jiraiya had stopped rocking on the floor in pain by this point and looked up from his still-sitting position and raised an eyebrow (?). "How does that work? 'cause I feel sorry for Yosuke, getting' kicked like that."
"I am Thou, and Thou art I, remember? It stands to reason that the same goes the other way as well. If our users get hurt, we would feel the pain too." Izanagi calmly explained, arms crossed, before he turned his attention back to Tomoe. "I'll show you around."
After a quick tour, Izanagi brought her to the bedrooms. He explained how to generate her door, but she immediately spotted a problem; there wasn't enough space. The corridor was only long enough to fit one door on either side, so she couldn't add her own.
"There's a way around that." Izanagi stated. He raised his arm towards the end of the hall, and opened his hand. Lines of blue flames burst into life along the edge of the wall, where it joined the other walls, ceiling and floor. He drew his arm back a small amount and moved it forward with a pushing motion, and the flaming wall moved back with it as an extension built itself in the empty space. He flicked his hand and the flames disappeared, leaving behind a longer corridor with enough space for another door on each side.
Tomoe looked impressed, and asked "How did you do that?"
Izanagi regarded her for a moment before walking over to an empty space on one of the walls. "This place responds to our will, so we can things like that quite easily. I just simply willed a longer corridor to be built. You can do the same thing to get your room to appear."
She followed him and, with a gesture from Izanagi, summoned her door in the same way Jiraiya had before. Her silver plaque was edged with a yellow-gold colour, and had a pair of shoes engraved under her name Tomoe, strangely enough. A quick reflection on Chie's fighting style showed her skill in martial arts, particularly kicks, so it made sense.
Tomoe was in slight awe that something her just willed into existence was now in front of her, but Izanagi regained her attention by continuing his explanation.
"This is your room. You can do with it what you will, and there are not real restrictions, but it is wise to keep your room locked in case a more carefree Persona might wander in."
In his own bedroom, Jiraiya sneezed over his magazine, sending a glare at the wooden door separating him from them.
Izanagi summoned a floating key engraved with the numerals VII, or 7, the tarot number of the Chariot arcana, and handed it to her. "If you need anything don't hesitate to ask. My room is the only door on the left, and Jiraiya's is next to yours. If that's all, I'll be taking a rest in my room, so I bid you adieu." He said with a slight bow and crossed the hall to his door. He stopped with one foot in the door and turned back to Tomoe as she did the same, noticing he'd stopped.
"One last thing; Welcome to Hotel Persona."
