Alexander Wilson Alex for short is a demigod son of Poseidon who was trained in Atlantis by his father after his mother was killed by a powerful being he returned to the city to when his uncle accused his father of stealing and deciding to take it out on him and his half brother so Alex went to help prove his innocence while also protecting his mother last secret

2. Chapter 2

The staff of the sea chapter 2

Atlantis Alex is 18

It has been 6 years since Alex demigod son of Poseidon lost his mother to an evil force that called itself chaos in his anger and grief Alex let loose a surge of power so he was brought to Atlantis for training

Alex is in the arena waiting for his brother triton for sparring at first the elder son of Poseidon as did queen Amphitrite didn't like him but over the years he and triton became close once triton realized it wasn't his fault that he was born since that day which was after a year the two had become inseparable.

As for Amphitrite she was just angry at Poseidon cheated on her again Alex remembers how he told her the same thing he told triton but was happy that unlike Hera she didn't try to kill the demigods which made him happy because he like living

She found that funny and since then they became close.

He also discovered that he had powers of a witch or warlock as he liked to call himself and had been training himself after triton didn't like being set on fire by a misfired spell so Alex promised he wouldn't use his magical powers when they sparred water powers only.

A voice snaps him out of his "thoughts you ready to lose our tie breaker brother".

Alex turns to face his brother and draws his trident he has a sword and staff to channel his magic he also has a bow and arrow enchanted so they never miss but he prefers the trident when fighting in Atlantis to honour his father.

He held his trident "you sure you're going to win tri you had the lead the first then I took it now I gonna break our tie 11 to 10 I like those odds".

"You over confident brother let's see he charged Alex met his charge their tridents clashing against each other as sparks started to fly between the two weapons.

Alex smirked at his brother who he could see was struggling to hold the attack he pushed his blade when triton sweep kicked Alex and knocked him to the floor.

He rolled and flipped back to his feet and thrust out a hand a ball of water flew at triton who swatted it aside but Alex ran in and struck with his trident triton blocked but the spark of energy sent them both flying back.

Alex recovered first and walked over to triton who was on his knees breathing heavily he held his trident when the doors opened and two guards walked in prince triton prince Alex your father would like to see you".

Alex sheathed his trident and watched as triton did the same and they both walked out pushing each other playfully "next time tri I will win the tie".

Triton laughed "you wish brother you wish" Alex elbowed him again but stopped when in front of the throne room doors Alex pushed them open finding a very agitated looking Poseidon.

"Dad what's wrong" both Alex and triton said at the same time Poseidon looked up and smiled slightly at the sibling bond his sons seemed to share.

"We've got a problem seems I wasn't the only one who felt your little power surge my brother felt it too and he has dispatched artemis and her hunters to check out the sight of the source of power".

"So I need to know is there anything you know of that they could find that would lead to you".

Alex turned away from his father for a moment when a look of realization crossed his face he turned back to his dad "well I don't know for sure my mother kept all this from me but let me go and".

"No" Poseidon said immediately "if you're caught" "dad I need to do this if there is something hidden then only I will be able to find it plus I know there's some stuff which could lead to me besides I can cloak myself".

Poseidon sighed "okay but be careful" Alex nodded "always am" as he vanished in a sea breeze.

Poseidon looked at triton "if anything goes wrong go get him my brother must not find out I will go to Olympus to distract my brother"

Triton nodded as Poseidon vanished in a sea breeze triton looked at his mother "there's something did you see my brothers face when he spoke there's more to what happened".

Amphitrite stood up from the throne and put a hand on his shoulder "don't worry I'm sure he will tell you in time".

New York Alex's former home

He appears outside his house to see to his relief that the hunters have not arrived yet he went inside the house and was immediately affected by the memory of what happened here his eyes glowed but he calmed down and started searching he found nothing of any consequence downstairs.

So he went upstairs to check his old room he immediately smiled as he saw some of the books and games from his child hood he picked up one such item when a piece of paper dropped to the floor.

He picked it up finding a key he looked at it before reading he note

Dear Alex

My son if you are reading this then you know who your father is but also about me

I'm sorry I never told you but I was trying to keep you safe that is why I blocked the truth but now it is time to know the key with this letter you go into my room you will find the answer

Remember I will always love you

Your mother

Alex dropped the note it bursting into flames he made his way out of the room and opened the door he looked around holding up the key which started to glow and without warning flew out of his hand.

It stopped when it hit the wardrobe it opened Alex averted his eyes and walked over and grabbed the key and the box and turned the key in the lock and opened the box revealing a glowing purple stone he stepped back nearly dropping the box but steadied it he touched the stone and got a shock and fell backwards he stopped himself falling and carefully reached into the box and without touching the stone moved the sides that were silver up so they covered the stone.

He pulled the now sealed orb out and held it in his hand.

"Well now thank you for finding the stone now why don't you be so kind and hand it over".

Alex spun finding chaos behind him he scowled "I will never hand it over to you".

Chaos laughed "I wasn't asking" he flicked his wrist the orb Alex flew backwards dropping the orb which rolled across the floor chaos tried to reach it but Alex jumped to his feet and threw a fire ball which slammed into chaos that skidded backwards.

Alex twisted his ring before he pulled the orb back towards him and placed it on his belt.

Chaos got to his feet "impressive boy your skills have improved since we last met but you are still no match for me give me the stone or I will destroy you and take it"

Alex laughed "never you killed my mother I'm the guardian of the stone now so back off" he flicked his hand but chaos conjured a shield reflecting the blast and knocking Alex on his butt.

Chaos stepped forward and held his sword to Alex's throat "just give me the stone boy you are no match for me Alex didn't move.

Chaos pushed the blade into Alex who grabbed the blade to stop it chaos laughed "I can feel your life fading just give me the stone it's what your mother would have wanted".

Alex growled his eyes glowed and he pushed the sword out of him before punching upwards sending chaos flying back he got to his feet grunting as he summoned a wave of water to heal his wound.

Chaos got back up "interesting you are more powerful but I will get the stone right about now".

He threw out his hand and a dark wave grabbed Alex who was caught off guard and threw him straight threw the wall he landed outside he got back to his feet as chaos walked out off the house holding a ball of darkness in his hand.

"Prepare to lose boy you will die this is your end he threw the dark ball towards Alex
