The tinkering went quicker when Levy helped him, he didn't have to do it all by himself, and in lack of a third arm that always seemed to be an issue. Plus her tiny hands worked well when there were tight spaces that needed tinkering, Gajeel had rather big hands. Not to mention the piercings that got in the way.
"The screw-nut is rolling away again." Levy giggled and reached out. Gajeel sighed and caught it and handed it to her. "Thanks!" she smiled and continued to look focused as she worked. Gajeel knew that he should concentrate on building together his bike and not focus on looking at Levy as she worked. But he really had no control over himself, he stole looks at her constantly. At one point as he soldered two pieces together he soldered them to him instead of the bike. He was stunned that he hadn't felt the pain and the burn, but he thought that was what he would get for not keeping his focus on what he was doing.
"We only need to air it out now, test the breaks and then we should be good to go if the son of a bitch will start." Gajeel muttered and stood. Levy stood as well and grinned wide.
"It will start for sure!" she grinned and walked over to where she had left all her stuff when she had gotten here. "I've got some things I need to look into, I'll be back in no time!" she smiled, threw her purse over her shoulder and walked towards the door. "Don't you dare test-drive it without me!" she smirked before she walked through the door.
"Wouldn't dream of it." Gajeel muttered to himself when she left and the ringing was back in his ears. His heart was pounding and his hands were all sweaty. Gajeel had never experienced withdrawal from anything before, but he imagined that it felt like this. The steady flow of her scent had made him all mushy and now when it went with her it slowly dripped of him as well. He could work quicker and concentrate harder, now with the scent still being a soft mention in the air he could relax. He worked fast and by sundown the bike was ready for its test start. He wanted to wait for Levy for that and decided that a drink would suit well as an ending of a relatively good day.
He walked to the little bar inside of the clubhouse and got out a soda of his liking, he put some money in the drawer under the cashier box and opened the soda. He walked around and sat in one of the big sofas and just relaxed. Out here he couldn't smell her scent at all, it was both nice and bothersome at once. He wanted to smell it all the time, it was like a drug to him, but the constant exposure to it was a little tough. He closed his eyes just a little and fell asleep in a heartbeat. Soft hands patted his chest and he opened his eyes and looked in to two big brown ones. His heart skipped beat when she was this close, her scent hit her like a bulldozer and he let out a groan.
"Are you alright?" Levy asked, Gajeel could hear worry in her voice and he nodded. Instinctively he put his hand over his nose and mouth in an attempt to not breathe her in as much. The scents effects travelled through him and his entire body got goose bumps and he let out another groan. To Levy It might seem like he was in pain, but the fact was he was experiencing just the opposite. "Hey, what's up?" she asked, still with the worry tainting her words. Gajeel just shook his head and tried to calm her.
"I just got startled when you woke me up." He said, it wasn't really a lie. He had been startled, but it was not the whole truth.
"Oh… sorry." She mumbled and looked away. "I changed clothes, it was getting darker outside…" she said and looked at her hands. "So… I figured it would be cold to ride in the dress." She said and giggled a little. Gajeel scoffed.
"You should get longer dresses." He said, it was a little muffled though his hands and he had to bite his tongue not to say anymore.
"Eh?" Levy said and looked at Gajeel and her eyes winded and a bright blush crept over her face. It made Gajeel's situation worse, but he tried not to react and remove his hands. He reached for his soda, which he didn't even get to drink before he fell asleep. "Did you see my panties?" she asked after a little while of silence.
"Yep." Gajeel said and looked at her with a strange calm, he couldn't fuck up more than he had in the past. It really was a wonder that she didn't hate him. His head felt like it was filled with cotton and his entire body itched.
"Lucky I wore hipsters today then!" Levy giggled, but the blush on her face deepened even more. She stood and looked at her clothes now. "This is more fitting for riding a bike right?" She said and did a little twirl. Gajeel looked at her and smiled when she lightened the mood a little.
"Yeah." He answered.
"Maybe my dresses are a little short, but they're cute right!?" she giggled and started walking towards Gajeel's garage.
"Sure." Gajeel answered and stood. He followed her to the garage and the bike. He didn't say any more about her clothing, he didn't want to say that it wasn't that it was cute. It was hot, it was daring and it made him fight with his reason constantly. He really couldn't say that, she'd murder him or worse…
"The bike's done?" she asked as she walked around it and inspected it. She pretended like she knew what she was looking for, she had some idea but really not enough to determent if the bike would start or not.
"Yep, just the test run left." Gajeel said and was happy they could talk about the bike and not her panties or dresses. The shock and her scent made him dizzy enough, he didn't need to think about her underwear.
"Well then, start it!" she smiled wide and took a step back. Her face shone like that of a kids on Christmas. It was funny to see, for Gajeel it felt a little same. He hadn't gotten to ride for a long time and it was a nice feeling, he looked forward to it. He looked forward to experience it with Levy for the first time too.
The bike started just fine and since Gajeel wasn't a fan of the muffler it was really loud. Levy had jumped when it started and her face had lit up even more. Gajeel motioned for Levy to get on, he didn't have an extra seat for a passenger, but she was small enough to fit on the same as him. She got to sit behind him as they tested it and on the way back later she'd get to be in front of him. He pushed the bike of its supporter and started rolling it out of the garage. He left the doors open and thought someone from the club would close them for him later. Or they'd be open when they got back, he really didn't care! He wanted to ride! He got on, shifted the bike into gear and drove off. It was wonderful. He loved the wind on his skin, in his face and in his hair. He loved this even more, Levy hands were tight around him and he didn't know if she liked it or not. He felt her heartbeat against his back, it was beating like crazy and it might be because she was scared or that she enjoyed it.
"Hold on tight!" Gajeel yelled over his shoulder when he shifted gear. He tried the acceleration, it worked just the way he expected it. A month of constant tinkering made the bike work better than fine. Now there was only the road before him. He enjoyed this more than he had expected as well. A pat on his back snapped him out of his little daze. He stopped on in a little pocket in the road and looked back at Levy. She had a huge grin on her face. "What's up?" he asked and looked at her with his hair sticking widely around his face.
"I'm getting cold and your hair is kind of whipping me in the face!" she giggled. Gajeel turned the engine off and pulled the supported down, got off and helped Levy off as well.
"Sorry 'bout that." He said and pulled his hair back in a low ponytail.
"Let's take a little walk, we're at the beach anyway, maybe I'll get warmer after a little stroll." She smiled and looked back at Gajeel.
"Sure." He said and looked at the bike and then at her. He had wanted to ride more, but he couldn't do that when she was feeling this cold, and the way back would be colder. "Let's take a walk."
