RoosterTeeth owns RWBY. Not me. It'll never be me. Let's just go to the story. Colt Remington is owned by Le Mao XVII. Check out his story My Turn cause it's amazing.
The first sense I regained was that of hearing, which informed me of people heading towards my position. Attempting to move any part of my body was a struggle though. It was as if all of my muscles were replaced by lead. The footsteps kept approaching, which caused me to let out an involuntary groan.
Slowly, I managed to grit through the pain and moved under a bush. And by 'move', I mean that I pretended to be a log that got kicked down a hill. Reaching the bottom, the pain seemed to remain consistent.
"Kid, you alright?" A female voice asked, causing me to glare at the owner. She had black hair that rivaled the night sky in the country. Soft blue eyes sparkling like the clearest body of water. Her clothes hugged her body and accentuated her curves. The way her flowing robes covered up the small pieces of armor caught my eye.
"What happened to you?" A male voice asked, earning another glare. His auburn colored hair was spiked up, while his ashy gray eyes seemingly looked into my soul. He was wearing a light red shirt that was covered with a piece of leather, while his gloved hands went towards the sword he had on his hip.
"Well, I died, met some Gods apparently, saw Death, and was told that I needed to stop someone from destroying the Multiverse. Nothing major. Just a basic Monday" I stated sarcastically, which earned a soft chuckle from the guy.
So, you're the one the Jury had to recruit. They did say you'd be a handful. We're part of the Sentinel Village that's housed in this dimension. We'll take you there and heal you. Everything will be explained there." The pair picked me up, causing the pain to flare up. Biting down a pained yelp, I allowed myself to look around.
There were at least four others who came with the two who spoke. Each one had a different weapon, obviously. But something seemed off about two of them. They looked like they were hiding something. As we continued, the beauty of the world was truly revealed as we passed a field of anemone and black roses.
Well, at least I knew what one of the flowers meant. Anemone flowers represent being forsaken or anticipation. Depending on how you wanna look at it, that could either be an ominous sign or a welcoming gift.
It took us another ten minutes to reach the village. It was situated near a derelict temple that was overran with moss and nature. According to Icarus Blaze, the guy who was with Amethyst, the female, when I arrived in the universe, it was once home to a powerful group of warrior monks. Kinda like the Jedi from the Star Wars universe.
"Alright. you'll have to recuperate for the next two days. Once they pass by, your training officially begins." Icarus stated before walking out of the hut I was staying in. It was completely different than what I expected.
It had two bedrooms and a full bathroom, along with a decent fireplace pressed up against the far wall. The kitchen was decently sized for a single person. Both bedrooms were big enough to be considered a master. All in all, definitely better than expected.
On the third day of me being in the RWBYVerse, my training really began. The first day consisted of me trying to create a barrier with my aura. It had to be strong enough to protect me and at least two others. Each screw up meant I'd have to add on an extra twenty-five push-ups.
By lunch, I was up to at least two hundred. Icarus wasn't taking it easy on me either. Amethyst just gave me the occasional soft smile of encouragement, but that was it. She didn't get involved unless it was to show me what I was doing wrong.
"You do realize that this isn't going to get easier, right?" Icarus asked, causing me to glare at him. Beads of sweat slowly rolled down my forehead, occasionally mixing in with the grime that coated my cheeks.
"I know. You do realize that I still have no damn clue how to operate my aura, right?" I shot back, and he rolled his eyes.
"That's painfully obvious. You need to stop thinking about how to operate it."
"What the hell am I supposed to do then!?" Amethyst let out a soft sigh before clearing her throat and bringing the attention to her.
"You need to focus. When you focus, you'll feel the aura surround you. Not just your aura either. It is similar to how the force operates in the Star Wars universe. Once your mind is clear of obstacles, it'll flow through you like a gushing river. If you don't, you'll never be able to access it to it's fullest potential." She sat back down, causing me to look back to Icarus.
"You heard her. Just focus, and you'll be alright." He launched an attack that I started to dodge. As his swings grew faster, I started focusing on the staff. As the barrier formed, it was too late as he managed to clip me on my shoulder.
"You focused on the wrong thing. We'll fix that though." Icarus quickly launched another wave of attacks, each one designed on breaking my focus. This time though, the barrier I threw up held against his last few strikes. He smiled at me as it dissipated.
"Congrats. Now let's see how long you're able to hold it up for." He launched a series of attacks, each one stronger than the one before. After a few minutes, the barrier gave way. Icarus just smiled at me, before telling me to do it again. It continued this way until the sun set.
"You're doing good Takeo. You're starting to get the hang of everything, but you've gotta start focusing more. This is just one of the many uses of aura that you have to learn" Amethyst commented, handing us a bowl of soup that was made for dinner.
"How many other uses of aura are there?" I asked, earning a soft smile from the beautiful woman.
"Well, aside from creating barriers, you can use it to heal a lot of injuries. Things like cuts, stab wounds, broken bones, sprains, dislocations are just some of the examples. Of course, if the person has a broken neck, you're not going to save them. Same thing with death blows. If you get lucky and can save a gunshot victim, then you've got a better handle on it than almost everyone."
"What about that temple?" Icarus cleared his throat, drawing my attention towards him. He wore a soft smile on his face.
"It housed a large group of warrior monks. Legend has it that their champion wielded a blade that could vanquish the worst evil. Of course, if your intentions weren't pure, it wouldn't work. Not to mention that they had a marvelous control over their aura to the point where they could use it to create humanoid beings."
"Yeah right."
"That's what the legends say, but we should get back. We'll continue your training tomorrow." We headed back towards the village, enjoying the peace and quiet. It may have been a tough first day, but I was looking forward to the next few days.
Hope you enjoyed chapter 2. I'll be posting more chapters ASAP.
