The police showed up about 10 minutes later. Mrs. Bitch was safely put into the back of a cop car and was on her way to jail.

John and I sat in front of an ambulance, getting out wounds checked. Both of our ankles were ripped up thanks to the chains. I wondered how the heck they hadn't gotten infected to the point where we had to chop them off. I took John's hand, smiling at him. He grinned at me, hazel eyes glistening in the afternoon sun.

One of the men, whose name I figured out was Brendon Urie, walked up with an officer, "Hey, do you guys know if you're still up for adoption?"

"I think so," I said, "But who's going to sign the papers?"

"I can call a lawyer down," The cop said.

"Cool," I said.

The cop walked off on the phone and Brendon turned to me, "How are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling great," I said, "Thank you,"

"Of course!" He said, smiling.

He was here with a couple of his band friends, and they had all wanted to adopt. The other guys' names were Pete, Patrick, Joe, Andy, Tyler, and Josh. Only Pete, Patrick, Tyler and Brendon wanted to adopt though, and they had said they were all looking for teenagers. What a lucky coincidence. They all seemed pretty chill; Theresa got along swiftly with Patrick, Seth just adored Tyler, John enjoyed Pete and I really liked Brendon.

Speaking of, the three other men came over to Brendon.

"You all chose?" He asked.

"Heck yeah!" Tyler said, grinning. I smiled. Pete winked at John and the teen grinned.

The cop walked over, "The lawyer should be here in a few. Since the other children have already been taken to another orphanage, I must be going. But don't worry, there are other cops here as well."

"Thank you," Pete said. The cop nodded and walked over to his cruiser.

"So!" Patrick said, clapping his hands together, "I call Theresa!"

"I get John!" Pete called.

"Dibs on Seth," Tyler said, smiling.

"And I will adopt you, Mari," Brendon said, smiling. I grinned and hugged him. It wasn't long. It wasn't short. I felt his breath gliding down my back, I almost shivered. The world was a scary place, but I felt safe in his arms. Something I hadn't felt in a while.

He pulled away just as a lawyer showed up. He walked up to our group and pulled some papers out.

"Hello sirs, ma'am, my name is Peter Allan, now, let's get this paperwork done and I can send you all home as families,"

The process took forever. I looked around the entire time, taking my surroundings in. It was bright as day outside (probably because it was in fact day). The outside of the orphanage had paint peeling off the sides. We had never been allowed outside, so needless to say the four of us got sunburned a few minutes into the paperwork. One of the ambulance workers allowed us to go into the ambulance and put some aloe on while the boys worked.

It ended up taking them 3 hours. The sun was starting to go down. We were playing with whoever else was there with us (so Joe, Andy, and Josh).

"How long were you there?" Joe asked, leaning forward. His poof of hair wiggled a little everytime he spoke.

"Theresa and I were only there for a few months," I said, trying not to remember why I was there in the first place. I didn't want to have a panic attack in front of them.

"Seth and I have been there our whole lives," John said. The ones we spoke about had passed out, both of them laying their head on someone's lap. Poor Seth, he was always scrawny, but now that we were under some good light I could see the bones showing through his skin. Theresa was the same, none of us were fed much. But how did I look? I could only imagine. I was the last one to show up in the group, so I might have a little bit of fat left still. John was just as skinny as the other two.

"That's crazy," Andy mumbled, trying to tame Theresa's mess of hair. I laughed to myself, that wasn't going to happen.

"Yeah," John mumbled.

There was a shout for joy outside and we opened the back door curiously. Brendon was running around, the lawyer and his car were nowhere to be seen, and the other three were still reading the paperwork. I guessed they were done and clambered out of the back of the car. The paramedic came around the side frantically, probably about to kick us out. Joe picked Seth up and brought him out, and Andy brought Theresa. Josh helped John out and suddenly I was hugged from behind.

I screamed slightly, trying to fight for a second. Once I realized it was Brendon I relaxed. He laughed, pulling away and tugging me to a car. "Guys meet up at my house! We're going to throw a par-TAY!" I laughed softly, getting into the passenger seat. I was really nervous.

"Aight, see you guys then!" Brendon got in and started the car.

"Where are we going?" I asked as if I hadn't just heard him.

"Home, I'm going to throw a party for all you teenagers and we're going to have so much fun!" Brendon said, grinning. I smiled at him, leaning back in my chair. Since I didn't have anything, I didn't have to go into the house to get stuff. And Brendon didn't have to go out of his way and help me.

"Cool," I said.

"What kind of cake do you like?" Brendon seemed a little hyper.

"Red Velvet," I replied, playing with a string on my jacket.

"I'm gonna get you one!" He picked up the phone and started a call. What about everyone else? I wanted to ask.

"Alright! Let's get this party started!"
