Chapter 2

She was staring out the window, watching a few little kids play Tag. She wore a white V-Neck, dark blue skinny jeans, and a pair of white flip-flops. She had her dark blond hair tied up in a loose ponytail. In all, she looked more beautiful than ever.

"Marissa?" I managed to say.

Our eyes met, she smiled, ran up to me, and leaped into my arms.

"Ryan! Oh my god, I missed you so much!" She Shrieked.

I felt the electricity run through my body when she was in my arms. It felt just like how it did in High School.

" I missed you too, Marissa"

We locked eyes for a few seconds, and then I thought of Taylor and knew it was wrong, so I looked away.

"So, Where've you been?"

"Well, after I worked on the Boat for an year in Greece, I loved it so much there, I moved in with a few of my girl friends I made there. I got a job, then I decided to move back here, because I missed yo- it so much"

That was close. I thought. I wanted to tell him the truth about coming back, but he seemed a little distant so I decided to play it safe.

"You're back? For good?"

"Yeah. I'm back for good!"

I looked down, and thought about how this would affect my relationship with Taylor. I didn't still have feelings for Marissa right?

He seems upset. I thought he'd be happy; I'm back for good. What's going on? Does he have a girlfriend? I thought.

"Is that goanna be a problem?" I quickly added.

"Uh no. It's just…I'm getting married… to Taylor"

"M-Married?" I stuttered.

"Yeah, look. I got to go, but I'll see you around" I lied.

I walked away, before she could say anything.

I just stood there, looking like a complete idiot. It felt like my heart had shattered into a million pieces.
