The rays of sun coming through the window hit Tulio's face and woke him up. He went to the kitchen to see what his dad was doing. When he entered the kitchen, he noticed that his father had fallen asleep on the kitchen floor.
Tulio returned to his room, just as his father awoke. He had a major headache, due to the amount of wine he had drank the night before.
"Ugh, Tu- Tulio, where are ya?" stuttered his father. "Don't make me come in there! Come here!" continued his father.
Tulio knew his father would beat him, but it was too late for him to run away. He decided to hide next to the bed. It was the only place he could think of.
Meanwhile, his father walked in, visibly tired, looking for his son.
"Tulio! TULIO! Where are you?! I'm your father! You can't ignore me!" stated the abusive man. Instead of looking for his child, he collapsed on his son's bed, and fell asleep once again.
Tulio was still hiding next to his bed, breathing heavily, trying his best not to be seen. He didn't want to be around when his father woke up again. So he decided to spend the day outside.
The boy began to walk down the street, alone with his thoughts.
"What should I do? I can't stop him! What's he going to do when I go back? Will he realize that i'm gone? Should I run away? I can't run away! Where will I go? What will I eat? What w-" Tulio's thoughts were interrupted when he bumped into a blonde teen on the street.
