Wow, so this is long overdue. I swear, this seemed longer in my journal.

It was so black when I came to, I thought I was still asleep. I shivered as the coldness crept into my skin from the metal platform I was on. I tried to get up to find metal walls surrounding me. I was in a box! In the darkness, I could see the walls closing in on me. My breaths came in rapid gasps as I tried to kick my way out.

"Let me out! Please! I beg you! Let me out!"

I finally kicked the door open, hearing the end of a scream as I did so. As I climbed out, I could hear a plethora of footsteps marching in my direction. I quickly ran to the back of the room, my bare feet making contact with the cold floor. I armed myself with glass bottles and tubes before hiding behind a long table connected to the wall. I could hear an animal-like being across from me, but I didn't dare to make a sound.

With the sound of my hearts and blood pounding in my ears, it was hard to hear. I only heard the squealing of the creature next to me, and a voice shout, "Don't kill it!" As I heard them leaving the room, I considered leaving to find a new hiding spot, but the loud gunshot stopped me.

"Why did you do that?! It was scared!" the same voice said.

They killed it? Over nothing? If they killed that thing, what was going to happen to me?

I heard them bring the body back and heard two voices conversing about the being. One of them called it a mermaid, whatever that was.

"Wait, where's the other one?" a female voice asked.

"Other what?" the other voice questioned.

"The other alien. It was so weird, she looked like a human, but she had two hearts."

"... Two hearts?"

"I can prove it! Here's the MRI scan," the female voice said as I heard the sound of a paper rustling. "It's so weird though, MRI's aren't usually wrong."

"... They're never wrong… We need to find her!"

The clattering of a glass bottle broke the silence. I froze, realizing that I dropped one of the pieces of my arsenal. As a pair of footsteps quietly made their way closer to me, I armed myself with a long-necked vial, preparing for the worst.

Then, a head slowly poked its way around the corner of the table. He had a buzz-cut hair style and rather large ears.

I quickly tossed a glass bottle in his direction, but he moved out of the way and it broke on the wall behind him.

"Wait, stop!" he said.

"If I do, you'll kill me!" I replied, arming myself.

"Give me one reason why I'd kill a Time Lady."

"... How do you know that?"

"Will you put those down if I tell you?"

I hesitantly nodded and let go of the glass items. He slowly made his way over and grabbed a stethoscope from his jacket. He placed it in his ears and placed the metal part against my chest. I shivered at the cold piece of steel, but I don't think he noticed. As he listened to both sides, his smile became wider.

"I don't believe it," he said, taking the stethoscope out of his big ears.

He then grinned, grasped my shoulders, and said, "You amazing girl!"

He then cupped my face and said, "I thought I was the last one!"

Wait.

"You mean,... you're a Time Lord?"

"Yeah, listen," he said, putting the stethoscope on me and moved it across his chest. I heard the quadruple beating of his hearts.

My tear-filled eyes met his joyful ones and I embraced him.

"I can't believe it!" I whispered.

"I know!" he whispered back, lifting and carrying me like his new bride. The man stopped to talk to the woman from before, but I didn't pay attention. I was overwhelmed with the fact that I wasn't the last one. I wasn't the last Time Lord.

When the lady was distracted, the man snuck us out and walked towards a giant blue box.

"I'm the Doctor, by the way."

"Doctor what?"

"That's a first. It's just the Doctor," he said with a grin. "What's your name?"

"Lorna," I softly said, taking in the gigantic inside to the small blue box.

I was in another TARDIS!

A third chapter is in the works!
