Hello all! It's been years and guess who is still obsessing over tyzula. Anyway. I'm back and here goes.
As usual, I own none of the characters.

The sun poured into the room illuminating the decorated walls and floors of the bedroom, and spreading a new warmth throughout. The raven haired beauty groaned softly in her place, tangled up between the sheets and blankets before rolling over onto her stomach and burying her face into the pillow. Just another moment to hide away from the world, it was all she'd become accustomed to these days. Finally after one more minute of lounging lazily about, Azula rolled over onto her back and let out a sigh as her golden eyes searched the cracks on the ceiling. It had been months since her arrival on Kyoshi Island, and she had not quite created a routine.

Sitting up, the firebender let out another sigh as she stretched her arms up over her head. Today seemed different, she actually felt the urge to go out and explore. Usually she just hung around the house and waited for Ty Lee to return home from her Kyoshi Warrior duties. Today would be different.

Today isn't going to waste.

Hopping up and out of bed she hurried to wash herself before getting dressed. Brushing her fingers slowly over the scar that had formed on her shoulder, she eyed herself in the mirror before slipping her shirt on and tying her hair up in it's usual fashion. She still wasn't accustomed to the Earth kingdom clothing, that gaudy green color still made her cringe every now and then.

Opening the front door, she inhaled the scent of the wind slowly, closing her eyes as she reminded herself to relax. Walking through town was a simple activity that she did not enjoy doing, though it had improved exponentially over time. When she'd first arrived at the island people would constantly stare and watch her every move, almost like they were just waiting for her to snap and start burning things to the ground. Nowadays people just ignored her completely, she walked along through the town like a ghost, no one bothered her and she did the same. Everyone seemed much happier that way.

It was just past the town, on the beaches near the Eastern side of the island, that she had been finding solitude and comfort lately. It was a woody region often left for the wildlife of the island, which made it perfect for avoiding unwanted company.

"Finally." Azula muttered quietly as she came to her usual space and dropped her bag near the trees. Stepping out onto the sand, immediately she broke into firebending form. Plumes of blue flame danced around her, whirled around her fists and burst forth from the soles of her feet. It was something she not only enjoyed, but something she was good at- it was the only time she felt normal. Her breathing quickened and her muscles tensed, but she never stopped, she would keep practicing until everything was in line, until she felt perfect again.

It wasn't until hours later when she stopped. Standing up straight her breath retreated quickly and emerged with new fierceness as she attempted to catch herself. Reaching up she wiped the sweat from her brow before suddenly she heard a voice.

"Wow! That was amazing!"

Whirling around, the Princess was surprised to see a child sitting on the beach. He was small and couldn't have been over the age of 5, with messy dark hair and icy grey eyes. As she moved toward him, he watched intently almost like he was studying her every move.

"You're a bit young to be all the way out here alone.." Azula commented with a quirk of her brow. Moving toward her bag she plopped down on the grass where the forest met the beach and rummaged through her things before finding her lunch.

"I come here all the time." The boy answered, standing and skipping over to sit beside her. Before she could even react, he was bouncing up and down in his seat, "How do you do all that fire-y stuff? It's so cool!"

Blinking a couple of times and clearing her throat to quell her annoyance, Azula took a bite of her bread before answering plainly, "Many years of intense training allows one to firebend to such a caliber."

Her curt reply didn't calm the child's excitement, he continued to jump around in his seat as he watched her eat with the same amount of interest as when he watched her firebending. Once Azula was thoroughly annoyed, she narrowed her eyes and reached over to put a hand on his head and hold him still.

"Where did you come from? Do your parents know you're out here?"

"I always come out here! I've been watching you all the time, you gotta teach me some of your moves!" Giggling the child jumped up and started punching and kicking, throwing sand up and all over the Princess before running out more toward the open waters to do the same.

Scowling, Azula dusted herself off quickly and gave a soft sigh of relief noticing that her food had not been damaged. Taking another bite, she glanced over to watch the boy for a moment before finally noticing what he was doing. He wasn't just throwing punches and kicks like some kind of uncoordinated lemur, but he was doing an actual firebending form- and not just anyone, but the one she had just finished practicing. Standing up quickly she moved over to him and put a hand on her hip.

"Again." She commanded quietly to which the boy automatically complied, "You said you were watching me all morning? That's actually pretty good, you must have a very advanced eidetic memory.."

Azula smiled slightly, tossing the last piece of bread into her mouth before reaching out to fix his hand and stance. Being a bit of a prodigy child herself she shared in the wonders of having a very photographic memory, but this boy was able to learn an advanced firebending form in only a matter of minutes. Of course there were small nuances and the actual usage of the form still left to be learned, but he caught the basic movements easier then kids three or four times his age.

"What's your name, boy?" Azula asked quickly, the harshness of her tone causing the boy to immediately flinch as he whirled around to face her. In the meantime, Azula had walked toward her bag once more and lifted it, rummaging through it as she awaited his answer.

"Jinzu. I-I'm Jinzu." He said with a wide toothy smile.

"Well, Jinzu." The Princess smirked softly, tossing a small bag of cookies in the boy's direction, "I'll be seeing you tomorrow then.." She raised an eyebrow in his direction before beginning her journey back home.

Jinzu's smile only widened as he caught the snack before shouting back eagerly, "Yes Ma'am!"

I can't wait to continue. No Ty Lee in this chapter, but be prepared for more (:
