Okay here it is… better late than never right? But here is something better… TWO chapters for the price of one!
Okay so here is a recap. Buffy moved out of the room with Spike and in with Willow. Spike was (as usual) dumped by Drusilla and decided to "drown" his sorrows in alcohol. He got too drunk and had to have the bouncers call Buffy to take him "home", where is almost "rapes" her, but finds out before it is too late and is now sitting on the floor of his dorm room crying. Everyone clear on that?
Okay On with the show:
Buffy sat staring at the guy who she had known her whole life never to cry, but here he was crying about what he NEARLY had done to her. He had nearly raped her. Why wasn't she the one crying like a baby on the floor? Why was he upset about the situation and not her? She was still in shock, maybe? With the situation still eluding her grasp, she was in a dilemma. Run from him? Tell someone and have the authorities deal with it? she continued to stare at Spike as he was curled up in the fetal position crying and shaking from what he nearly did to her. Comfort him? Is that what I really want to do? I mean the guy is so drunk he didn't even know it was me he was about to… she didn't really want to think about it. She wanted to run away and cry to her friends but here was someone she had known her entire life, someone she, yes, hated, but also felt sorry for, someone who right now was needing her to make things "okay".
Not knowing what to do, she just sat there stunned on the bed that belonged to her just that morning. She watched him cry until she heard her phone chirp saying she received a text message. It was from Willow checking in on her. She replied and put her phone on the bed. She had decided in that moment to be there for him, but the question was how? Should she hold him? Should she even try to touch him? She didn't know. Spike had stopped crying now and was just shaking. She decided to help him to get back on his bed. He obliged her but wasn't really "there". So there he lay, on his bed, shaking.
They sat in silence for what seemed like hours but was probably only minutes. She was shocked to hear him speak even in such a whisper.
"I'm so sorry, Buff."
She didn't know what to reply to that.
"Do you hate me?"
She still didn't know how to reply so only kept quiet, feeling the tears finally start to run down her cheeks.
"You have every right to hate me. I know I would, and I do"
Still, no reply from the other bed.
He rolled over to look at her. What he saw made his heart wrench. Sitting on the bed that once belonged to her this morning, sat Buffy with her hands covering her face hiding her tears. He had caused her to cry. He had caused her pain, yes he had done so many times in the past but this was different. This was pure unfettered pain. Looking at her appearance only made it worse. Her clothes were rumpled, her hair was a mess, her whole look was one of complete disarray, and he had caused it. He felt like an animal. How could he have done this to her? Why did he not just leave the whole mess alone if he was blacking out so badly? He was such an idiot.
He wanted to reach out, to comfort her, but he realized she probably would never want to talk to him again, see him again for that matter. He never felt so lost in his entire life. It was then that he got angry, not at himself, but at Dru. If it wasn't for Dru, he never would have gone out to get drunk; if he never went out he probably would not have done this to Buffy. He tried to make himself believe his circular reasoning, but he didn't/couldn't truly convince himself. It wasn't Dru who wore skin tight pants and a sexy top. It wasn't Dru who brought him home; he would have preferred to stay at the bar! He started to blame Buffy, but really couldn't believe that either. He tried to blame everyone and anyone he could, but he knew the only one who was at fault. It was his own fault, he made the mistake he had done the "deed".
He was so angry at himself he wanted to scream, kick, yell, throw stuff, anything. He wanted her to leave so he could be alone. So he told her to leave in a very gruff manner.
She continued to sit on the bed barely comprehending what he says. When it does register she rises and walks to the door but decides to go back to the side of his bed. "I'm sorry if I hurt you, but I guess it was just inevitable."
What did she say? Was she apologizing? Utterly confused he rolls over to look at her in the face, "what in the hell are YOU talking about? What do you have to apologize for?"
"I'm saying that at some point I knew we would push one another too far. I guess this is it. Good-bye William." She never called him William anymore. She always called him Spike because he had asked her to when he first received the nickname. As she turns for the door he grabs her hand. "Um, Luv, shouldn't I be saying all that? I mean I'm the one who… I'm… shit. Dammit, I'm sorry, I hurt you! I did the damage, you idiot, not you!" he was utterly bewildered by this girl. She irritated the crap out of him yet she was his only friend, sort of.
She stood there staring at his hand holding her's. He was just about to say more, when the door burst open. Both jumped in surprise as a shadow loomed in the doorway.
Great, just who he least wanted to see for the rest of his life, His lying, cheating, backstabbing, no-good, whore of an ex, Dru. Really, could he day not get any better? He's been going so great on the shittiness of life for this day that it would only be better if his ex, who only until this morning was his ex, was standing there in his doorway like a looming angel of death. Spike's inner monologue was only one of contempt for the person in the doorway.
Buffy's on the other hand was not so "chatty". Still in shock from previous events, her currently interrupted berating from Spike, and now the she-devil who ruined most of her life barging in the door. She was just about ready to leave and call this night, DONE.
As Dru sashayed in, followed quickly by, whom he assumed, her new boy toy. Her eyebrows could have flown off her face at how abruptly they went up at seeing "Her Spike" holding another woman's hand. "I see it didn't take you long to find solace with another woman and from the looks of her, she didn't get what she expected from you. Couldn't get it up?" Her casual air did not negate the hint of irritation at knowing another woman had taken her place. How dare she! He was her dark prince, who did this other woman think she was moving in on her territory… she would have continued on that train of thought until she realized who it was. BUFFY! He slept with Buffy! It was laughable. In fact, she did laugh, causing Spike's eyebrow to raise. "What is the nature of your appearance this evening, Dru?" She was still in her own world which revolved around the phrase He messed around with Buffy? She just couldn't believe it. Her Spike went and pity fucked the girl, who she and Spike had teased, taunted, bullied, and everything and anything else they could have done?!"Well, well, look who my prince decided to slum it with. Buffy." she pouted as she said Buffy's name, then laughed a crazed laugh, turning so her boy toy would be encouraged to laugh to join her, he did so for a brief time.
Continuing to laugh, "I had heard from some "friends" that my prince was hurt." Mocking his pain obviously was not the best way to make Spike happy, but by the way she went all dreamy on the word "friends"; Spike knew she meant fuck buddies and being in such a haze of rage, he didn't care. Dru, continued to mock him and Buffy, smiling as she spoke. "So, I came to check on him at the Bronze, but left empty handed." Pouting, showing her empty hands." I then find out that some "blonde chick" took him home. As the ever loving person I am, I wanted to know who "She" was." She smiled at Buffy with a smile that was nowhere close to warm. "It was so good of you to take care of MY Spike for me, but I am back for him now. And I will take care of him. Go Away!" Obviously not liking the fact that another woman was in "her" way, Dru tried to grab Buffy and drag her to the door.
At her dismissal of Buffy, Spike became furious. Jumping up from where he was, he blocked her path to Buffy. "Who the hell do you think you are telling people to get out of MY dorm room?" Dru was attempting to answer when he cut her off. "You are no one. You broke up with me this morning. For goodness sake woman, YOU broke up with me! And by process of elimination that means you have NO rights to ME, or even the right to be in my dorm any more! So if anyone needs to leave, it is YOU and your boy toy too! So in your own words, Go Away!" he made a shooing motion, which didn't go over well with Dru. "Dru, I said Leave." cocking his eyebrow at her standing there not leaving. "Now."
Pouting, she said,"I'm not leaving until SHE leaves" pointing towards Buffy. Dru's eyes could have bored a hole into Buffy's head if she could have. Buffy was just sitting there staring at the entire situation.
"Um, Dru, Are you really that stupid? She's my roommate." The look on Dru's face was priceless as she remembered that they were in fact roommates at last she remembered. As for Spike, he had paused remembering that she had also moved out of his life, and this room, this morning. He turned, unobserved by Dru, who was in her own world, and gave her an "I'm sorry" look. "Now, she was being nice, something you don't know ANYTHING about." When he turned to look at Dru, he noticed she wasn't staring at him anymore. She was looking straight at Buffy. She had this fierce look on her face like she wanted to scratch Buffy's eyes out. Moving to block her view of Buffy, he motioned for them to leave again.
"Alright, well that's enough, Goodbye Dru, Good-Bye "whoever you are", Get out!" He made to put his hand on their shoulders to guide them towards the door. But as it seems, Boy toy was not going to have any of it. He grabs Spike's wrist and says in a very nasal-y voice, "don't touch her."
Calm, cool eyes met Icy flames, "Mate, you might want to let me go. So far, I have only ASKED that the two of you leave. SO, Like I've been saying and I have asked twice, relatively nicely might I add, Please leave. Don't make me ask again." But, boy toy still had a grip on Spike's wrist, Spike looked towards Dru and with a look, says, "you know what I will do if he doesn't, Doll". He sneared the last word. The connotations of Spike's meanings were understood, Dru turned her back to Spike, harumphing as she did.
"Let him go, I'm tired of his games anyway." Sighing, she walked towards the door, and there was Spike holding the door open… WIDE. Presenting his hand in a grand gesture for them as they vacate the room.
"Bye, Bye, Now. Oh and Dru, don't come back." his last remark was said as he slammed the door. There were three knocks. Spike opened it with a rush and yelled "WHAT?"
"Spike, I was rude in not introducing you two, this is Jesse. My baby's father." She said the second part as a child would describe her imaginary friend to her parents, exceedingly chipper.
He felt like he was going to kill her. He wanted to wrap his hands around her neck and squeeze the life from her body. Breathing to stay calm, Spike leaned up against the door. he was truely fed up with her, "knowing" who the father of her "baby" was, and the guy named "Jesse" standing in his doorway. He had this exasperated look on his face to match his tone, "Oh and how is it you know just WHO the father of this "baby" is when it seems you slept with the ENTIRE TOWN? Did the doctor do a blood test?" he stated the last with mock excitement then continued in a condescending tone, "No it's too early to tell. He's the only one you went bareback with?" again he starts the question asked with mock excitement, then ends with condescending defeat continuing the pattern as he asks questions and then answers them," No, because, as I saw earlier today, you were with Angel bareback, so that can't be it. Did you forget your Birth control that day? No, you don't take birth control. Okay, so please explain to me how you know HE is the father?" Pointing at Jesse on the "he". He was going to continue his rant to her when he realized, if she knew the baby wasn't his then great! He didn't have to care anymore. Fuck that bitch! He thought joyously, "You know what, never mind. I don't care. Have fun with Jesse, Angel, and all your other blokes, may you all have thousands of brats. Good Luck and Get the fuck out!" He corralled them back out of the door jam with his arm; slamming the door in Dru's shocked face. He knew she was going to be pissed at him, but he honestly didn't give a fuck right then.
Resting against the door, Spike let out a sigh. "That, was WAY too much drama. And so ends that chapter of my life." He wanted to laugh. He wanted to hit something. When he slammed his fist against the door, making Buffy jump, he shocked himself back to the heart of the matter.
He regretted her having to see what happened. He regretted everything he had done to her. He only wanted to make things better. "I'm sorry, Buff."
He turned around to see her shocked and stunned. "You okay?"
All he got was a meek, yeah.
What the hell was he going to do? He couldn't just let her sit there in shock. Food?
"You hungry?" eating helps shock, right? He felt like a complete idiot.
"I'm hungry for a burger from the caf, wanna come and get one with me?" I hope this will work.
She only sat there and stared at him.
"Do you want me to get your roomie to come fetch ya?" she shook her head "no". Well that was something.
"So it's your choice, either come along with me for food, I drop you at your room, or I get your roomie to come get ya. Take ya pick?"
now you have the end of chapter 2!
Chap. 3 will be soon to follow due to me writing all of these chapters in one big bundle.
