A/N: Wow! So much support for this story. To be honest, I really wasn't expecting a lot of views since this idea is pretty far out there, but I love how many people have viewed this story. Thank you to everyone who has viewed and reviewed this story! This chapter is pretty rough, and unedited from three years ago, but the chapters will get longer and more descriptive in the future.
"I just wanted to make sure you wouldn't go crazy..." She glared at him and he stopped walking for a minute.
"Why would you think that? Are you in love with her?"
"No. Of course not. That's exactly why I thought that way. Because I love you." He started walking again.
"Say it again."
He looked at her, confusion clear in his expression. "Say what?"
"I haven't seen you in three years. The least you could do for me is say it again."
"Say what?" He was only joking with her since he knew what she wanted him to tell her. Both their voices rose.
"Jayden Brian Black!" His instincts were telling him to shut up, say sorry, beg for forgiveness, back down, be a man, and say it already but his need to play the game took over his imprinted mind.
"Emily Grace Clearwater what do you want me to say?"
"I love you!" She screamed at him and he pulled her in for a hug. Tears streamed down her face as she buried her head into his chest and took in a big breath, smelling him for the first time in three years.
"I love you too." He gently released her and kissed away her tears when she stared up at him. "Emy, why are you crying?" He mumbled as he rested his forehead against hers.
"I...I really missed you." She hiccupped. He nodded and kissed the tip of her nose.
"Maybe when we get to the house I can show you a...proper way to help the loneliness fade away." He smirked and she laughed.
"Only if you're up for it."
They finally approached the house and Emily noticed two other scents circling the perimeter.
"Lauren's is the one that smells like flowers." He said, as if he knew what her question was going to be. She nodded and scrunched up her nose.
"She needs to lay off the perfume." He chuckled and opened the door. Because of how early it was in the morning, not a sound came from the entire house. "Which room is yours?"
"The one with our symbol on it. You and I are sharing a room. I've been away from you for too long." He shifted his arm from around her shoulders to holding her hand. He guided her to his room and opened the door. Just the amount of him in the room drove her wild. It was all him and only him, making her the only other scent in the room. He closed the door and turned around, only to be met with her lips on his and her body pressed tightly against his.
"I love you." He said as her lips parted from his for a moment.
"I love you." She responded as her lips attacked his once more.
He woke up to a warmness radiating off of his chest. Opening his eyes, he saw Emily's head on his chest, sleeping soundly. Turning his head, the time emitted from the clock on his nightstand read 11:30. He knew Lauren would kill him for being three-and-a-half hours late for training but he had a perfectly reasonable excuse for sleeping in, especially being reunited with Emily last night. Speaking of Emily, how was he supposed to tell Ji and Lauren his girlfriend has come to help extinguish a coven of angry, upset, red-eyed bloodthirsty vampires that he keeps losing track of. Stroking her blonde curly hair, his other hand traced her tattoo delicately. She sighed contentedly in her sleep and burrowed her head into his chest. He kissed the top of her head and tightened his hold around her. He decided to get more sleep against his better judgment but he couldn't help the fact it was warm under the covers and he was still sleepy. Closing his eyes, he let her breathing lull him to sleep.
Emily's eyes fluttered open as she rolled over. Or at least tried to roll over. Key word-tried. Jayden's arms around her waist tightened as she rolled over, a smile graced his lips. His eyes flashed open.
"Morning." His voice was laced with gruffness of sleep.
"What time is it?"
"It doesn't matter." He saw the look she gave him. "Its almost one." She nodded.
"We should probably head out soon then." He pouted.
"Emy, I just got you back. Can't this wait until tomorrow?"
"Jay, honey, of course it can't. If you had been able to kill them off when you were supposed to, we wouldn't be in this situation."
"Keep your voice down, they don't know about our kind. Or the other for that matter." She got up and made her way to the bathroom.
"I'll be out in ten." The door slammed shut and he winced. "I know you flinched." Her muffled voice came through the door.
"Damn it." He muttered under his breath.
"Did you just say-"
"No. Love you!" He recovered and threw on his pajama bottoms and a tank-top. He heard the water running in the bathroom so he opened the bedroom door and closed it. Walking towards the kitchen he realized Emily was right about Lauren's perfume. It always was a little bit on the stronger side.
"Hi." Lauren's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
"Oh, hey Lauren. Sorry I couldn't come to training...something came up I had to deal with." He started fidgeting with his hands. "Actually, Lauren...is it alright if I ask you something?" She nodded and mentally prepared herself for what he was about to ask her.
"Yes?"
"Is it alright if my girlfriend stayed here as well? It's just for a few days...we need to take care of a few things before she leaves." Lauren's heart broke in her chest. He had a girlfriend...well two could play this game.
"Only if she beats me in a sparring match."
"Lauren I don't think-"
She cut him off. "In one hour. The outdoor training mat." She started to walk away.
"You really shouldn't do this."
"Why not? I'm a samurai ranger. She can't beat me. I have more power than she'll ever have." Jayden clenched his eyes shut, not wanting to tick her off. When he opened them, she was gone. All of a sudden a blaring high pitched sound came from the dojo, making him groan. Emily was by his side in a flash and on high alert.
"It's just a GAP sensor. It tells Lauren when a monster attacks the city. I usually hide in the shadows just in case." She nodded. "Do you want to help her out?"
"Sure. Lead the way, Alpha." He rolled his eyes and the two of them took off running.
