The girl was falling, so I caught her. Simple as that. No, actually, not that simple. This was so, so much more complex, more complex than any of your puny little human minds could possibly comprehend, so I won't go deep into it. Anywho, as I steered my TARDIS closer towards the bridge, angling it just right so that the girl would fall into my arms.
