What do I remember?
I remember going outside to shop some chips, M&M, doritos and soda. It was only a walk of less than two blocks; a walk that I always did with my headphones on, listening things that could made my musical tastes go from "good" to "doubtful" easily.
Maybe that was the reason I didn't listen the beginning.
The screams must have come first. Second, the rush. And so…THE CHAOS.
I just noticed this because I almost fell to the ground, while looking around and running into a building, jumping to the fire stairs that need urgent maintenance.
Of course I wasn't the only one who had this idea, but I was the only one who keep climbing to reach the rooftop, ignoring the curious residents and all the screams.
We have a law in New York City.
A simple and important one: there's no safe place.
Not after Nordic Gods, Armored men and lunatics in uniform started to appear here.
-Shit- I cursed after noticing the dimension of the conflict.
Iron Man and Falcon were there.
While Falcon was flying and hitting the majority who attacked the museum, Iron Man faced a man with the double of his weight, in a red and black armor.
I sat on the floor and searched my laptop in my backpack. If they were doing a coordinated attack like that, a cryptographic communication line was essential.
And…I KNEW IT!
I opened a direct line with Mr. Stark and tried to don't look so nervous or excited.
I swallowed hard.
I was going to be kicked out.
- So, I found their communication line. I'm sending it to you, since I thought it could be useful...
- What are you doing here?
He seseemed angry.
Very angry.
- I've run out of snacks and…I get out to buy more and…now I'm stuck in the midst of this shit.
- Come back now! – He ordered, finishing the call.
I sighed.
I was in trouble...
…or not.
He was using what I sent to him.
I smiled, singing victory. I HELPED IRON MAN!
I helped him and…
I felt the world around me tear apart, even before understanding what was happening.
I was falling.
Falling with concrete and steel around me.
Falling toward the icy embrace of death.
