Screams filled the night air as Stefan ripped himself away a body dropping from his hold blood all over his face, his hands he stared in horror at all the blood the smell was intoxicating brining forth his deep desire to feed to hunt to kill... What had he done?

Bewildered Stefan slowly stared down at the body horror coming over his features when he realized who exactly it was. There lying lifelessly on the floor with glassed over eyes and a ripped open neck was Elena Gilbert.

"No." Cried Stefan desperately sinking down by Elena cupping her face in his hands intense guilt coursing through his veins. "What have I done." He said. Quietly to himself listening hopefully for a heartbeat anything to tell him she was still alive. Nothing she was dead and it was all his fault.

"I'm so sorry." He croaked out weakly trying to breathe through his emotions his guilt at all the pain he's caused. Suddenly his attention is brought to his hands which are now dripping with blood as if there was an invisible fosette the blood running heavily like water over his hands he stared in horror not noticing Elena's body had now disappeared until it was too late.

Stefan stood up in alarm wondering where on earth she could have gone? What's happening? Spinning around startled when he hears the now hollow but familiar voice of Elena.

"You did this to me." She said staring at him with hate her appearance that of a ghost.. "I had my whole life ahead of me and you took it like it was nothing." She said with clear disdain.

"I didn't mean too." Stefan pleaded with her." I'm so sorry Elena I never wanted to hurt you."

"But you wanted to hurt me." A voice said from behind him spinning around he recognized the next ghostly figure to be that of the deceased Honoria Fell. She turned to Elena. "Don't be fooled by him he's a monster all he cares about is blood it will always come before everything even those he claims to care about."

"She's right." Said another figure one Stefan recognized to be Jonathan Gilbert. "His bloodlust is his only true love."

"That's right."

"He's a monster."

"He deserves to burn"

"Abomination."

"How dare he show his face in this town after everything he's done."

"Murderer."

More and more of his previous victims showed up all of them shouting until he was in the direct center of the angry mob.

"No please just listen." he cried as their presence suffocated him. "I'm sorry I never meant to cause so much devastation."

It fell on deaf ears and soon he was engulfed in flames the feeling was agonizing...

Stefan gasped awake looking around relief consumed him when he realized it was just a nightmare. Looking at his clock it was time to get ready for the day he promised Elena he'd meet her before school. Getting up he was greeted with the sight of his older sister sitting on his desk chair reading the newspaper a devious grin beginning to form on her lips. "Morning." She said tossing the paper to the side on the desk, looking over at him the glint she now had in her eyes he was familiar with and had already come to the realization on how he had such a devastatingly realistic and specific dream.

"Have a bad dream." She crooned at him. Tsking she snatched the paper back up and scolded him. "It's just to easy to get into your head."

Furious Stefan threw a knife at her she caught it easily before it impale her and threw it faster then anyone could blink back at him unlike his aim hers had struck it's target that of which now lay on the floor groaning in pain clutching the knife engorged in his stomach.

Damon stood up smirking at him she gracefully stalked over and patted him condescendingly on the head. "Nice throw too bad you weren't fast enough."

Stefan rose to his feet having finally extracted the knife through moments of glaring pain. He glanced at the newspaper's title.

"You're attracting attention Damon." Stefan told her through gritted teeth. "You should leave town before they start suspecting vampires."

"Oh how sweet Stefan thinks it that easy to get rid of her? Ha!" She thinks to herself before turning her attention to her brother.

"Really didn't you hear." She goaded with obvious faux excitement. "It was a mountain lion a really, really big one a couple hunters caught it this morning." "Oops sorry spoiler alert" She gasped dramatically. "Will catch it this morning." After I catch them she thought silently to herself.

Stefan stared at her with scrutiny. "Why are you here Damon?" He asked her finally. "You hate small towns especially this one."

She walked to the door shaking her head at him sarcastic smile in place. "Elena really seems to make you happy you two have that whole Romeo and Juliet or more accurately Edward and Bella thing going on." She told him scoffing internally at having been forced to reference that horrible book."How much longer do you think you can go on with keeping up this whole I'm a highschool human undercover vampire phase?"

"It's not a phase Damon." Stefan told her irritably.

"Sure it is!" "You know for a fact there's no way I'd let you stay so happy forever I do need to keep my word now don't I?" She said playfully a malicious glint in her eye.

"Wherever you go people die Damon." Stefan said like it was such a big revelation. This caused Damon to snort this was one of the most stupidest things she'd heard come out of her brothers mouth and boy had she heard a lot of dumb things come out of his mouth over the endless years.

"Of coarse people die Stefan we're vampires, vampires eat people it's the circle of life." She said slowly like she thought he'd lost all function in his brain. "You might have forgotten these facts but I sure as hell haven't and never will."

"Not here Damon I won't allow it." He told her looking at her with renewed determination.

Laughing to herself she walked out of his room calling over her shoulder. "Since when have you ever been able to stop me from going after what I want?"

Damon's POV

I walked into the grill still fuming over my little brothers words. Did he really think he could stop me? Why was I always the villain in every one of his stories? Then again he's always been a spoiled little brat.

I sat myself down at the bar and ordered a drink while listening in on a conversation from behind me after all it was rude to talk about people behind their backs and I had a pretty good feeling this conversation was about me if the eyes drilling into the back of my head wasn't indication enough.

She was used to people staring at her especially the male population.

"Come on you should talk to her." A male voice said. Glancing descreetly she gazed over in the direction of the voice instantly I recognized his features and similarity to a family I knew all too well the Lockwood's this must be one of their resent descendants as he appeared to be a teen. Lockwood was talking to a man who was sitting in the same booth as him staring at me. He had blond hair and blue eyes not as sharp as mine but still beautiful none the less he was being pressured by Lockwood to go talk to me much to my amusement.

"Come on Matt staring at her won't do you any good go for it man it might be a nice distraction from Elena." Lockwood said encouragingly to his friend.

Elena? They knew each other? Taking a closer look I noticed him starting to shift uncomfortably. Ah they must have dated and by the looks of it things didn't end well. This could work tremendously in my favor however, as I needed fresh blood and now not only that but someone to dangle over my brother it was just to tempting to pass up.

The lockwood kid seemed to get through to him slowly he approached my place at the bar I smirked in satisfaction this was just too easy.

I felt a light tap on my shoulder and turned around to lock onto the now sheepish gaze of the blond haired blue eyed boy.

"Mind if I buy you a drink." He asked awkwardly running his hands through his hair probably already second guessing himself.

"I would love it." I told him gesturing to the seat next to me before turning back to my almost finished drink seeming to not pay him as much mind as he was now paying to me. Eyes sweeping over my body a blush already forming on his face when he noticed he'd been caught reddening even more I winked at him." Oh this would be a fun night." I thought to myself as Matt sat down next to me and ordered both of us a drink as I had just now finished off mine all the while he was ignoring the envious eyes of other male patrons around him.

Damon and Matt were now in his bedroom of his house on his bed and things were getting quite heated. Damon felt her vampire side growling at her when he began kissing her neck knowing it was only time before her hunger took over her mind she needed to act fast diving in and kissing him passionately she inhumanly fast switched their positions on the bed but luckily he was too caught up in the moment to notice.

Breaking the kiss she now had him in the perfect position to get what she craved most at this moment vampire features coming forward veins popping underneath her eyes gums giving out a dull ache as the fangs unsheathed themselves.

Matt's eyes turned from pure lust to pure fear and utter horror as she plunged her fangs into his tender neck roughly drinking but gently enough that it wouldn't leave as deadly and scarring of a mark.

She drank as he choked on the air having been fast enough to begin feeding on him before his cry of terror could pierce the night.

Once satisfied having had her fill she watched as he desperately fought to keep his eyes open adrenaline wanting to do nothing more then escape the predator above him, rolling her eyes at this she locked hers with his. "Ssh sleep." She cooed at him knuckles caressing his temple her strong compulsion instantly taking hold and rendering him unconscious.

Sighing she looked over his wound. Ouch. "Got you good didn't I?" She mused to herself out loud.

Settling herself down she wondered why it was so damn hard for Stefan to come to grips with reality the same reality she had come to terms with long ago.

They were a predatory species they have to eat a living being to survive sure they could still leave them breathing but it wasn't their obligation to do so only when the situation called for it really. She felt no guilt whatsoever to the ones she had eaten and didn't survive for there where three billion people on this planet way to many so in her eyes she was keeping population control they were prey she was the predator. Don't mistake this philosophy for being that she has no control far from it actually she just rather not repress the vampire within her as her brother so stupidly does on a daily basis.

Looking over at the unconscious human she crossed her arms behind her head eyes sparkling roaming over the still bleeding wound she shook her head sleep now calling to her whispering. "Don't worry I've got plans for you."

So you'll live just a little longer then tonight...
