One Mistake
Chapter 1
NOTICE: 6/6/2015 Chapter 1 has been revised.
Hai! It's nice to meet all of you guys reading this, although I'm not actually meeting you. Sorry that this might come out bad. I got sick for a couple of days, and I went to Universal Studios for 2 days straight, so I didn't have time to think of much ideas. So this might be rushed. Just so you guys know, if there will be a battle scene in this, I wouldn't be so good at it. Battle scenes aren't the best thing I'm good at, including romance, because uh… Well I do not own Fairy Tail! ^_^Wait, why did I think there was going to be a battle scene? O.o
WARNING: There will be OOCs in here
This is just responds to the guest comments on my last chapter
For RedMoonRose, the prologue was just the dialogue at the bottom. The rest was just character introdutions. Although, one of my reviews told me I should delete that part after I made this chapter.
For the person who said "I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT !" Thanks! ^_^
Knock, knock
"Who is it?" A man asked.
"It's me, Lucy,"
"Come in." Lucy opened the door and walked into the room. Then she froze.
Though the room was grand, there wasn't much in it. A few book shelves on the side, plants put on each corner of the room, a desk in the middle raised on a small platform, and a large window as high as the wall placed behind the desk. The window viewed the mountains, the walls surrounding their house along with the front gate, and the forest in which their house was made. But there was one thing out of place.
"Dad, what are you doing?" Lucy questioned, looking at him weirdly.
"Oh nothing. I'm just making a huge electric fence, so that you won't escape when I say that you can't to Fairy Tail Academy! I'm also putting some bodyguards there." Her dad smiled innocently while construction workers worked on the gate below the window. (Really doesn't want Lucy to go -_-)
Lucy came out of her shock and then glared at her dad. "What?! Why can't I go!" She yelled.
"Because, since we're the richest family in the country, people are going to come after you if people find out that you're the daughter of the Heartfilia family! They'll break into the academy and kidnap you and hold you hostage and torture you and maybe they'll even-"
Lucy stopped him. "Ok, I got it! But I've been kept inside this house for 10 years! I've haven't been able to see the outside world for 10 years! Do you know how long that is?" Lucy shouted, holding back tears. Staying in the same place for 10 years is no doubt boring and lonely. She may have had the employees there to talk to and as much as she thought of them as family, Lucy wanted to see the world.
"Of course I do Lucy, but I don't want the same thing to happen to you after what happened to Layla," He frowned.
There was a small silence as I looked down. "I thought we promised not to talk about the incident anymore." She said, darkly. There was an incident many years ago that had made Lucy's dad the overprotective dad he was now. Lucy understood that he didn't want it to happen again, but Lucy was confident that she would be able to protect herself. She wouldn't let herself be weak anymore. It wasn't going to happen again. Ever again.
Let's start a flashback!
"Mom! Dad!" A young Lucy grinned, running up to them.
"Lucy!" Her mom, Layla, smiled, opening her arms to her.
"Mom-" Lucy started. But then she was suddenly pulled back by someone.
"If you don't want your daughter to be hurt, give me all your money!" The person spoke, holding a knife near her face. It was a thief trying to take all their money. Usually their security was able to deal with them before it happened. But on that day, most of the guards were on vacation and though there were some guards still there, the thief was surprisingly smart enough to get past them.
Her mom's and dad's eyes widened. "Lucy!" They both shouted.
"M-mom, dad-!" I stuttered.
The man roughly pulled her. "Shut up! Now give me all your money. You don't want something to happen to your precious little daughter right?" He cut my cheek a little, causing me to flinch.
"Don't do anything to her!" Her dad yelled furiously.
"Then will you give me the money?" The thief smirked. He knew he would.
"Okay! Just leave her alone!"
The thief smirked again. "Good choice. Now, why don't you just g-" The thief started. Then he suddenly froze and dropped his knife. Lucy slightly moved her head to look at him and saw that he was shaking. She moved away from him and the thief fell to the floor. Not knowing what had happened, Lucy just stared at him for a bit. On his back was a knife.
"Lucy!" Recognizing the voice, Lucy turned to see her mom panting behind the thief.
"Mom!" Lucy ran up to her and hugged her mom tightly.
"Lucy! I'm so glad you're okay!" Layla smiled, crying happily. "You're not hurt anywhere, are you?"
"I'm fine! I was so scared!" Tears started coming out of Lucy's eyes.
"I'm so glad you're oka-" Layla stopped, her eyes widening. Behind Lucy was the man slowly coming up again, holding the knife, and swung it towards her.
"Lucy!" She pulled Lucy behind her, covering Lucy with her back, and shut her eyes. Lucy turned around and her eyes widened from what she saw.
"Mom!" But it was too late. She was already stabbed, right through her heart. "MOM!"
End of Flashback
After that, the guards had rushed over to the scene. They were too late to do anything else other than follow their commands when my father told them to take the thief away. All they saw was a young girl crying over her dead mom's body and her father trying to hold in tears, clenching his fists to the point of bleeding. The day after that, Lucy swore to herself that it would never happen again. She was only 7.
"Can I just please go to Fairy Tail Academy?" Lucy pleaded in her cutest voice. Her dad was never able to go against that voice.
"No and don't say it like that." Her dad looked away.
"Come on. It's one of the best schools in the country, has a great reputation, and has great security too!"
"No."
"Pleaaaaase!"
"No."
"Pleeeeeaaaaaaase!"
"No."
"Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaase!"
"No and- where did you go?" Her dad looked around the room. Lucy was gone from her original spot. When he turned to look at his left, he jumped, seeing Lucy's face right next to him. " ! " He held his hands to his ears.
After 3 minutes of pleading, Lucy's dad finally gave in. "Nnnnnn... Okay! Fine! Just be quiet already!" He sighed, giving up.
Lucy smiled brightly. "Yay! Love you dad!" She hugged him tightly.
"Yeah, yeah, I love you too," Her dad grumbled, not returning the hug. "I'm only letting you go because of the great reputation. But promise me that you won't tell anyone that you're the sole daughter of the Heartfilia family, got that? Then no one will try to kidnap you."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever! I'm just so glad that you're letting me go! Lucy hugged him one more time before rushing out the door, hurrying to her room to pack.
"Shiro, get the suitcases! I'm going to school! Woohoo!" Lucy yelled, loud enough for everyone to hear.
Her dad, hearing this, sighed and sat down on his chair. He looked at the picture of Lucy's mother and picked it up, smiling sadly. "Guess it's finally time, huh Layla?"
Meanwhile, Lucy's Room
Lucy was excitedly jumping up and down, throwing all her clothes in a suitcase.
"I'm so excited!" Lucy grinned happily. "I can't wait for my new life at school! If I remember correctly, Levy said that she was going to that school in her e-mail. I'm sure she's going to be so surprised!" Lucy grinned wider and kept throwing stuff into her suitcase. Although, in the back of her mind, she had a feeling that something was going to happen. But Lucy brushed it off, thinking that it was just going to be a new chapter in her life.
"Shiro! Can you get another suitcase? I still have more clothes to pack!"
The Next Day
Dressed in her new uniform, Lucy was smiling widely. "I'm leaving now!" I said, exiting the gate.
At the gate was her dad and even all the employees standing there, sobbing. "Sniff, sniff I can't believe I'm not going to see you everyday anymore," Her dad cried, holding a tissue near his eyes to wipe his tears.
Lucy's sweat dropped at the sight. "Don't worry dad, the school lets parents visit their kids once in a while. Just make sure you're wearing a disguise when you're there."
"Lucy-sama! It's time to go!" Shiro yelled from the car.
"I'm coming!" Lucy yelled back. She turned back at her father and the employees, smiling. She hugged each of the employees tightly. Finally she reached her father and gave him a tight hug as well. Letting go, she said, "Well, it looks like its time." Lucy smiled and waved goodbye. "I'll miss you dad, everyone!"
"We'll miss you too!" The employees and her dad yelled back, waving. All of them were smiling while crying making Lucy laugh a little.
Waving one last time, Lucy entered the car. She nodded her head to Shiro. He nodded back and started to drive. She took a look behind her before looking forward, smiling happily.
"Let's go, to my new life!"
At Fairy Tail Academy
"Did you hear, Did you hear?" Someone said, running to her friend.
"What happened?" The friend asked.
"I heard that there's someone transferring to our school!"
"Really? In the middle of the semester? We rarely get new students too!"
"I know. I heard it's a girl."
"Do you know what kind of magic she has?"
"No, that's why I can't wait to meet her tomorrow!"
Riiiiingg! Riiingg!
"Oh no, we're going to be late!"
"We gotta hurry!"
As the 2 friends ran to their class, behind them was a group of people who was listening to their conversation.
"Hey, did you hear that?"
"Yeah."
"Hear what?"
"Looks like there's going to be someone new going to our school tomorrow. It's a girl too."
"Really? I wonder if she's nice?"
"Ke. That doesn't matter. It's not like she's going to get involved with us, she's just a normal girl. We're stronger, richer, and more popular than her. She won't get involved with us, not that we want her to."
"True huh. Well, I can't help but have a feeling that something's going to happen. Oh well."
"Time for class, we should hurry."
"Yeah let's go." All of them started to walk off, except for one person, lost in thoughts of the new student.
"New student, huh." He smirked. "I have a feeling that things are going to get more interesting."
"Natsu! Hurry up! We're going to be late!"
"Yeah, got it." And so the group walked down the hall.
Well, that's chapter one! Was it a little too short? I have a really good feeling about this story, but I can't be too sure. I know that some parts of this were bad, but I did try my best! Plus, I'm really excited about this story! Thanks for reading! ^_^ I could have sure used that excitement 3 years ago. -_-
