"Yuri and me, alone?" in Athena's mind, the more she thought about it, the more nervous she got.

After the training session, Athena and Yuri agreed to meet by the Park nearby.
This proposition was made by Yuri since she didn't want Athena to wait by herself in the locker room.
Yuri knew that Athena's hotel was nearby, so she'll not have any trouble going back with her team, and joining her later.
A gesture appreciated by Athena, it will at least give her some time alone to prepare herself.
In the hotel, each girl got her personal room.
That means she had her whole intimacy and took a quick, yet, relaxing shower, since it was not the case in the gym, she didn't train after all. Busy checking the Karate girl out…
Wait, was she checking her out?
Well, no, her eyes landed on her haphazardly…watching her legs bend all the way in uncomfortable positions…her long legs…
Something was strange about this whole situation, and Athena was really lost right now, it's not like it was the first time she set her eyes on Yuri. she always thought there was something nice about her. This time, it was different…
She got out of the shower stall, dried her body, before applying her Jasmin scented light body lotion made especially for her, and then dressed.
She also dried her hair quickly with a towel, didn't want to use a blow drier since it was hot outside, besides, she liked keeping it all natural, something she got used to a while back in summers when her hair was shorter.
Her look was on point as usual; her outfit consisted of a long sleeved wraparound red crop top showing a beautiful cleavage but not too much, with the strings of the top tied around her back, and blue denim shorts with a belt, her hair was still damp and she was not wearing her usual headband. A pair of simple white sneakers adorned her feet.
She looked at herself in the mirror; she wanted the look to stay casual, no heels, no makeup, and no jewelry.
All dressed and ready, the tingling sensations remained on her tummy area.

The park was calm in the evening and the sun was still high in the sky, but not too much, the days were always longer in the summer after all.
The breeze was hot, yet, the park's ambient environment balanced everything nicely.
It was a nice walk from her hotel to the park, even fifteen minutes earlier, better to be early than late right?
By the bench, Athena was reading a light novel, and waiting for Yuri to show up.
"You really like school and books don't you?"
Hearing a familiar feminine voice, Athena lowered her book and smiled at Yuri, who smiled back at her.
As expected, her outfit was casual, yet, still matched her personality, much like Athena's top, hers was long sleeved as well, but still made in a light cotton fabric, not too warm for the weather.
A simple baby blue oversized crop-top that stopped around her waist, the only thing that surprised the Purplenette was the darker blue denim "not too short" mini skirt Yuri was wearing fitting like a glove and highlighting her figure beautifully.
Surprising, since it was the first time she ever saw her dressed in a skirt, well, to be fair, most of the time, they were only meeting in tournaments and locker rooms, rarely outside, but it happened.
Another interesting detail was her hair free of any headband or braids, only tied with a ribbon in the bottom, still a little bit damp as well since she had to shower earlier.
As for her shoes, it was simple red sneakers.
Everything about this outfit was simple, yet so appealing, unlike so many girls, Yuri's simplicity was what made her stand out.
Athena's heart was beating faster suddenly, and her cheeks got redder, again having weird thoughts about the situation.
"Hey…well, I was waiting for you, while reading this novel"
"Well, I am sorry for the wait, and…a novel? Which kind?"
"Light novel"
She handed the book to Yuri, which she took quizzically. The book was full of images, and Japanese written all over.
"Well…seems interesting, too bad I can't read Japanese that well"
"You still use it surprisingly well" and that was not a compliment, it was the truth.
"It's easy since my dad's only speaking Japanese to us from our early childhood"
"We can communicate better this way"
They started laughing, and talked for few minutes on the bench, Athena's flushed face still on.
Suddenly their eyes met swiftly, but Athena's reflex was to look away, still feeling awkward.
"Also, you look great today…without your headband, we can concentrate more on your pretty face"
Athena's eyes widened, feeling so embarrassed by the compliment, Yuri surely spotted that, and the psycho soldier sensed it.
She was only complimenting her as a friend right? It's normal to complement each other's, so why is she acting as if it was a big deal?
She was a little bit shy, but not that much usually.
"Thank you…well…yours look even nicer without your braid and with the ribbon in the bottom"
"They are getting in the way this is really why they are braided, and the ribbon now is because of the wind, plus I don't braid them when they are still wet"
"Still with your hair down, you are another girl"
It was the Kyokugen disciple's turn to be embarrassed by Athena's compliment.
"As childish as it may sound, my family is against me cutting them, I would like to" answered the girl simply, a mega blush on her cheeks.
"Even if I think they are right, short hair would suit you too you know"
An awkward silence fell between them, before one of them decided to break it.
"So, do you have any idea of what you want to see first?"
"I got a map with me…Chinatown seems to be a good idea if you are okay with it"
"You really like china don't you?"
"Yeah…I do like to visit every Chinatown in all the countries I visit"
"You are my guest today, so you ask and we do"
Both of them were smiling once again. Athena was heart warmed by Yuri's optimistic nature, and she was eager to know her better, even more than visiting the town.

"The breeze here is nice"
"Thanks to the beach nearby, you can spot Joe training here sometimes"
"Joe Higashi?"
"Yeah, it's not hard to see him since my brother's working here as well"
"Your brother likes to take care of animals is that right?"
"That's right, how do you know that?"
"It was only an intuition…I said it like that… I am sorry"
Athena's senses were not always shut, and sometimes she was unable to control it, especially while getting emotional. she keeps everything to herself, not wanting to freak out anybody.
"It's okay… it was actually amazing…you are amazing"
The school girl was embarrassed, yet pleased by Yuri's compliments, she was not the kind to listen to compliments, used to hear journalists complimenting her all the time in Japan, but not really meaning any word.
The Karate girl's sincerity was not hard to feel, and only that was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
