Hey everyone!

I know I haven't updated in like... three years, but I've gone through 6 computers and keep losing everything. I can't promise I'll have this done as fast as I like, but I can promise a chapter a day for the next two days! Woot!

Anywho, sorry and on with the show!

Disclaimer- Nope, not mine.

Chapter 2

She searched her bag the next morning and nearly screamed when the teacher looked at her, frowning. "I'm sorry! I must have-"

"Sorry!" She heard and turned, seeing Shinah in the door way of the room.

"You! You're not a student here!"

"I'm Jang Shinah! Ida! You forgot your book yesterday!" He gasped for air, surprised when a few of the girls started into fits.

"It's the student president! Jang Shinah! Wait, how does he know Choi Ida?!"

He walked over, handing her the book while gasping. "Did you run the whole way here?! Let me get you a drink!" She stood and ran over to the door, headed to the nearest vending machine.

He had just caught his breath when she ran in with a bottle of Aloe drink and he took it with a smile.

"Thank you." He took a swig before headed to the door. "And Mimi, I need to speak to you."

Mimi stood and walked to the hall, where there were a few utterances, none of which could be heard in the room.

Mimi came in shortly after, her cheeks white, her mouth a set frown.

'Oh, hell..." Ida frowned, knowing that Mimi would find some way to make her life miserable.

It was nearly immediately at the end of the day that Ida felt the familiar tap of a notebook against the back of her head and turned to see Shinah smiling at her.

It creeped her out.

"Is everything alright?" She murmured, worried about what he'd have her do today, seeing as she wasn't even originally supposed to be here.

"What? Can't I just be glad to see you?" He smiled and she frowned, her eyes widening, her cheeks brightening before she could think enough to stop it.

"Shinah, are you feeling alright?" She frowned and his response was a fast nod. He pulled her in for a hug, catching her so badly off guard that she dropped her bag.

"You're free. From now on you don't have to follow Mimi anymore. If she tries anything all you have to do is let me know. From now on, no matter what, I'll protect you." He whispered, and her muscles tensed.

Those words, did he even know what he was saying? Did he realize what he'd just done?

Before she could ask she found tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Don't pick on me! Not like that!" She jumped back, fury and tears, a blur in her own eyes. "You can tell me to learn to cook, I'll help you as much as I can with studying, but don't you dare tease me like that!" She nearly sobbed and Shinah shook his head, knowing how hard it would be to believe, it would make her that much more happy when she realized it was true.

"It's not a tease. You're free of her."

"And what about you?!" She nearly screamed, and Shinah laughed, seeing Yodah's face so clearly.

"I'm hoping you'll choose never to be free of me. I'd meant everything I'd said yesterday." He grinned at her, knowing that his last second decision to tell her what he'd felt was a great thing. "I love you, Choi Ida. Ever since you saved me all those years ago, I knew that I loved you."

"All those-" Realization set in. Her eyes widened and her pulse seemed to stop. For a moment she believed herself dead. "I don't-"

"But you do. You never would have paused like that, had shown that much fear if you didn't know. But now you don't have to worry about it. I already know who you are. I know what you're capable of. I know, and I still love you!" He laughed and she felt her throat tighten.

"Then you don't love me! You love him, you homo!" She screamed and turned, running away.

Shinah laughed as she ran, knowing two things. Number one, all of the student body at her school knew better than to believe he was homo. He knew his reputation for having no interest in women, yet detest for any man who dare hit on him left this in his field. Besides, why would he care if they believed it?

Second, she'd have to come back eventually to get her book bag.

He ordered out, finding a restaurant that had good food and ate quietly, typing at his computer. He'd spent so much time studying that no one ever noticed what he'd been doing WHILE studying. He'd go over to the computer and type in words, numbers and such every once in a great while. He smiled as he saw the new figures in his email and sighed, logging out of the system.

Things were going great. He had to admit that he never would have had the guts to do this a month ago, but now...

He laughed even more, looking over to the computer.

Now everything was set.

OooooOOOOOXXXXXOOOOOooooo

Ida ran from the school with tears in her eyes. He was such a cold bastard! How could he say such things!? It was insane! She didn't have to worry about Mimi? She was free? He loved her... She frowned as her run turned into a walk.

She turned a corner to run into Mimi and her group. "Oh, Look, Mimi. It's your maid." She heard a snigger before Mimi's voice chirped in.

"Not anymore. Now she's Shinah's maid, or whatever. She has nothing to do with me anymore." Mimi started to walk away before one of the kids chirped.

"Either way, I'm thirsty! Should we send her out to get drinks?"

"You ask her, I'm not dealing with the consequences." Mimi turned, walking away without giving another look to her.

"Wait!" Ida called and the group turned to her, save Mimi. "Is it true then? Did Shinah do something?"

"Ask him. You're safe from me, I won't ask Mommy to throw them out. You're his now, not mine."

Ida just stared as Mimi walked away, her group surrounding her.

Her hands flew up to her mouth, tears even more in her eyes now than they were before. Nothing could have prepared her for this.

"Shinah..." She turned to the school to find him gone. She couldn't face him now anyway. Not after the way she yelled at him after what he'd just done for her...

She turned and walked home, her mother at first angry by her refusal to speak, then worried when she realized the girl was in shock. "Ida, I've made you something good for dinner. Come and eat?"

"I can't... I don't feel so well..." She frowned and laid down on the living room floor, panic washing over her again, for the millionth time in the last hour.

"Mommy, what if he fires me?" She sobbed and her mother ran out, starting to panic herself.

"He? What are you talking about?"

"Mimi sold me! I was supposed to be her maid, but she sold me to her cousin! I yelled at him! I'm such a fool!"

She was surprised to feel a smack at her cheek and looked up to see her mother's eyes shining like fire at her.

"Then you go apologize! You can't make them angry! If we get thrown out, it'll be your fault!"

"Thrown out..." She stood and frowned, looking around.

"On second thought, go to bed. Think about it in the morning. You don't seem to be thinking right." Her mother growled and Ida just slid up the stairs.

As she closed her eyes for the night she heard her cell go off.

She looked up to see a message from Shinah.

"You left me in care of your book bag. I'll bring it to school for you in the morning."

She looked at the message, her eyes wide, her throat tensing again.

She grabbed the phone and her fingers flew over the numbers, a message slowly taking form.

"I'm so sorry I didn't believe you! Please don't be angry with me!"

It was only a second till she got a response.

"Never. Goodnight, Ida."

Her throat eased and she smiled slightly as she typed back.

"Goodnight, Shinah."

She closed her eyes, falling quickly to sleep.

The next morning was odd for her. She was excited. She hadn't felt like this in so many years! Like today may be a great day! She giggled as she ate breakfast and ran for the door. Her mother frowned and tried to yell after her as she ran, but Ida was in too much of a hurry to hear what she'd said.

She reached the school and was surprised when Shinah's eyes widened at the sight of her.

"Stupid!" He yelled, grabbing her by the arm and dragging her behind one wing of the school.

"Hey! What was-" She looked into the reflection of the class and saw Choi Yodah looking back at her. "Oh, my hair! My glasses!" She gasped as she started trying to pull her hair down.

"I have some rubber bands! They'll be usable for now! If you're discovered now then there will be gangs coming to look for you!" He handed her the bands as she started to pull her hair up.

"Thank you!" She sighed and he looked at her with a smile.

"It's just a few rubber bands."

"Not that! For Mimi! For watching out for me like this! For years I haven't been allowed to have an opinion! For the first time in years I got to just sit for an evening! I didn't do anything! I just sat there!"

"That's not very-"

"But that's it! She left me alone! When I ran into her she ignored me! She didn't boss me around or try and embarrass me! She just left! She told me it was because of you! Thank you!" She threw her arms over his shoulders and was surprised to find him instantly reach for her, an embrace she was NOT prepared for.

"Anytime, princess." He smiled and she stepped back, looking at him, the smile on his face.

Her heart skipped a beat, knowing that he could be like this. He was him, and she was totally different, but he didn't care.

"Shinah..."

"I have to get back to school! You be careful today, alright?"

"Alright." She watched him, still surprised.

"I'll come by to pick you up today." He smiled and she watched, following him back out to the main area.

"What are you doing back there alone?!" She heard a group of fangirls yelling and was surprised to hear Shinah's response.

"I'm asking out the most wonderful girl in the school." He smiled and turned as Ida walked out.

"YOU'RE GOING OUT WITH THAT BOMB?!"

"No, she didn't say yes." He smiled and looked at her.

"Please take care of her for me." Shinah smiled at them and they nodded as he walked through.

"You didn't say yes?!"

Ida wasn't even sure she heard who'd said it, but she wasn't really paying much attention anyway.

"Of course I didn't. If I do, I'll wake up. I'd rather live in this dream." She grinned, leaving a few of the girls gnashing their teeth.

"Jang Shinah, you're just too much sometimes!" She laughed.
