I do not own Hunter X Hunter. This story was written when I was in high school because I would write just about anything back then. I would like to thank my coauthor for the future chapters of this story called milosensei and I do not own Hunter X Hunter.

I was hungry to be like my father even though I never seen him my whole life. He was lured by a charming attraction, that he'd even willing to left the family.

I would be following in my father's shoes, dead or missing if I wasn't ready to pass the Hunter's. For the sake of the golden time, I would do anything, just like my father, to seek what I suppose to meet.

My aunt was serving at a restaurant called Blue Books and Diner. You get what you read from this. Every time she came back home from work I could interpret from her face that said, 'This is giving me a hard time, but I'll give out everything for my family.'

It was motivation like that which made me happy to have an aunt like her. But that doesn't mean that I should do nothing and just lazed on the couch.

I decided to go for a run with some jumping to help get my body ready for that exam. I was hiding my true purpose from her - to become a hunter. After training it seemed I would finally have the chance to show her my purpose. And I kept wondering myself, will she understand me?

"Hello Gon. Your almost responsible except you don't tell me when your leaving the town to go for a run," she said sweetly to me.

I felt horrible. Will she listen to what I'm got to say and accept in open arms?

" Aunt Milo, I want to become a Hunter. I'm taking the Hunter's Exam very soon."

I could sense a change in her emotion. My heart kept pumping hard all over the corner.

"Gon, it's not smart or safe to become a Hunter just because your father is one."

I pulled out a frown on my face, thinking hard about a fresh reason to tell her.

"If I become a Hunter think of all the ways I can help you."

Judging from her expression, I knew that she was thinking of the opposite. She nervously tapped her fingers on a table while imaging all the gruesome things that could happen to her nephew.

"Gon, I forbid you to become one. Don't you know what's the worst thing that could happen to you? It'll literally costs your life!"

I could see her face getting all smudgy from the tears dripping down her face. I faced the heaviest remorse and guilty situation in his life, as his most beloved figure broke down because of his wish. I wanted to become a Hunter though because it couldn't get out of his head.

I wanted to become like my father after all. And now he could only see a little hole to the greater world.

" Aunt Milo, if I were you and you were me would I be able to stop you from becoming a Hunter?"

Aunt Mito frozed. She gasped as she couldn't believe the words came out of her nephew, me. She was now biting her lip while tearing up. Aunt Mito frozed. She gasped as she couldn't believe the words came out of her nephew.

"Just leave. Leave and either go to your Hunter's Exam or come back and never mention it again." She said.

I gasped,

"Arigatou, Mito-san!"

She eyed me softly.

I made my decision and it was leaving the home and the family I cherished.

Mito curved a weak smile on her face. "You really are his son," she stated.

I went from my town to Austin to get on a ferry for the first stage of this exam.

Mito trailed him to the port and bid a farewell. Somehow the whole scene reminded her of his father, Mito just let out a light sigh. 'It's his fate after all.'

I found only two people in the whole ferry that I liked. And both of them had their own antics. Well, at least there are people who understood me.

"Hi." I said to the yellow haired man with strange clothes.

"Hi there." He greeted back with a monotous tone while reading a book.

" My name is Gon. I've been drawn to you because I like the book you read. I never was good in school but reading was a good lesson for me."

"I'm glad that you're one of the few people in the world who finds it interesting. Your future seems bright." He calmly responded to my expression in view.

Me and him were getting along well until a tall man wearing a blue suit came our way.

"Oh, looks like you kids managed to get along! Anyway, I'm Leorio. Nice to meet you."

l smiled to the man trying to talk to him while Kurapika just kept reading from his book. The clouds went heavy and dark. I sniffed the air attentively before I realized a disaster. I had to warn the captain about this.

"Captain san! There will be a heavy storm! This ship'll might be capsized!"

The captain had to act right now to protect the ship and the crew.

The ship started to tremble by the strong wind. "Everyone, go to the cabin immediately!" He ordered.
