We've been together
For quite a while now -
You've been charming and helpful,
I was broken and freaked out.
You'd put up with my moods
My insecurities, my pain,
While I was there to
Hold your hand when it was bad.
I knew you didn't want much,
You were happy enough with me only,
And now I know that by helping me
You've been healing yourself, too, just slowly.
And it's sad that I have to move on
From this perfect year and a half,
It's so sad to see my first love go,
Since I know it's my last.
But I hope you know that
I'll keep my promise forever,
That it's certainly not a "Goodbye",
It's more of a "See you later".
