limited 3rd Person Wally POV

He had messed up, he had messed up big time. What was he thinking, using his League training in front of Dick and Bruce like that! He was so dead. Maybe they didn't notice? No, they definitely noticed. He saw the way Batman narrowed his eyes at him before he left. What about Robin though? He didn't seem care about the move, or perhaps he just wasn't aware of that move from his training with Batman. Wally's thoughts were a jumbled mess as he sprinted through the busy streets of Keystone City. He had to get home, to tell Uncle Barry or Aunt Iris, they could help him.

Wally skid to a stop in front of a small, but welcoming house. Wally thought back to the countless times he and Uncle Barry had watched the Wizard of Oz (Barry had an odd thing for musicals) and smiled, there really was no place like home. His Kid Flash costume was compacted into a small golden ring that fit perfectly on his finger. Wally wore a light blue T-shirt and some grey cargo pants. Walking up the the entrance of his home, Wally pulled out his keys and unlocked the door.

"Aunt I, I'm home!" He called. Taking off his shoes he went straight to the kitchen. It came as no surprise to see Iris making dinner for the two speedsters and herself. Wally smiled at his motherly figure and embraced her in a tight hug. Aunt I smiled at him, her emerald eyes twinkling. "Welcome home Wally," She greeted him. "Hello to you too," He told his aunt. "How long do you think till Flash gets home?" He asked with a snigger. It had become a game between them, whoever could guess the closest to the time Barry came home wouldn't have to do the dishes. Wally lost, a lot, but he had won sometimes!

"10 minutes," Said Iris as she began to mash potatoes. Wally walked over and began to cut some of the carrots with super speed. "My money's on 30 minutes," Wally said, moving to put the carrots in a bowl, they were going to have stew for dinner. Barry and Wally, with help from friends at S.T.A.R. labs, had come up with 30,000 calorie bar that could give them enough nutrients to run all day and only eat slightly more that the average person. Iris had been infinitely grateful at this discovery, now she wouldn't have to buy enough food to feed two speedsters every other day. She hated the weird and judgmental looks she got from the cashiers.

After 10 minutes of talking, laughing, joking and cooking, a gust of wind rushed into the house. Iris sent a very smug smirk towards Wally, who responded by sticking his tongue out at her. Barry stood in the kitchen with them, a smile on his face at the childish antics of his wife and nephew. Of course, everyone in this household had at least one form of behavioral trait that could be considered childish, but none of them really cared, they were happy, and that's all that mattered. Barry was in his civvies without shoes, Aunt I was kinda strict about the no shoes in the house rule.

"So, how was training Wally?" Asked Barry, "Ow!" Iris had slapped Barry's hand away from the fresh out of the oven biscuits, "Those are for dinner!" Wally smirked at Barry, who was definitely pouting. "Fine, but I kindasortamaybeaccidentallyused amovethatRa'staughtmeonDickinfrontofBatmanandIreallymessedup, sopleasedon'tbemad, (I kinda sorta maybe accidentally used a move that Ra's taught me on Dick in front of Batman and I really messed up, so please don't be mad)" Wally said in one breath. Iris looked completely lost, but Barry looked alarmed at what his nephew had just revealed.

"What did he say?" Asked Iris, slightly concerned when she saw the worried look on her husband's face. Wally took a deep breath and repeated his previous sentence. Iris embraced Wally in a hug and started running her hands through his flaming ginger hair. "Let's go to the table, you can tell us what happened over dinner," Aunt I said. Wally nodded as he and Barry moved to set the plates and give themselves and Iris food. It was an unspoken rule, Aunt I cooked the food and he and/or Uncle Barry set the table and served the food she cooked.

Aunt I was the designated cook since Wally only knew how to cook small things like pasta, pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc... Barry on the other hand, was the worst cook in the history of the world. He couldn't cook to save his life. He once tried to make waffles; they turned green, green! Iris had banned Barry from cooking anything ever since. It was almost funny, Barry was one of the most powerful members of the Justice League to ever live, and Iris had him completely whipped. It was great that Iris had accepted them for their pasts, Wally and Barry were so sure that she would leave both of them for it. Barry for being the Flash and Wally for being an assassin.

They sat at the table and Wally began his story, "So we were training in a tournament style fighting contest and I was gonna throw it, make it look good, but lose, unfortunately, Batman made us wear inhibitor bracelets." Flash almost winced in sympathy for Wally, both of them hated wearing those things. Iris felt horrible for Wally, he had once told her that with his powers dampened he was more aggressive because his speed is what helped dull the need to kill that came with even the smallest amounts of exposure to the Lazarus Pits. He was mostly sane without his powers and had little urge to kill because Wally hadn't touched their cursed waters in decades, but the bloodlust will always linger underneath the skin, waiting to be let out.

He had left the League of Assassins before gaining his speed, Wally wanted to try and live a normal life in the modern world. Ra's had been furious when he found out that his own son had deserted him. He sent his best men after him, but they never found anything. Wally had vanished from that life. When Wally got his speed, he wanted to make up for his sins, he became the Flash's partner, known to the public as Kid Flash. He thought that the lives he saved might help up for the lives he took. Being a hero helped fill the empty void inside of him. It helped heal his fractured soul.

Wally continued, "I beat Kaldur then I took out Artemis and it all went downhill when I fought Robin. He used a cheep shot move and I got pissed at him. After a bit of exchanging blows, I flipped him over my shoulder and almost broke his shoulder blade; I would have if I hadn't stopped myself," Wally said leaving out the specifics of the fight. Barry knew exactly what move he used and Iris could guess pretty well how it went down. Wally and Barry had taught her some self defense moves from the Justice League and Shadows, but Iris never fought anyone and she wouldn't be doing it much, so they just taught her some basic attack and defense moves.

"Wally, it's not your fault and I don't blame you. I have had my slip ups too," Barry said. Wally knew that Barry was once recruited by Ra's. The speedster agreed to work for the Shadows for a time after one of his friends was killed. Barry was in the Shadows for about five years. It was actually where they officially met. Ra's had asked Wally to train their newest recruit. Wally looked down and took a few bites of his soup. "I bet you never messed up in front of Batman and Robin," Wally said with hints of bitterness. "No, but I did mess up in front of Batman and the entire League." Wally looked up. "Oh ya?" He challenged, "When?" Barry, who had finished his meal, pushed his bowl away from him. The older speedster cleared his throat dramatically. "Get on with it drama princess." Surprisingly, that didn't come from Wally, it came from Iris. The two speedsters almost jumped, they had completely forgotten that she was there.

"We were fighting each other in a training drill that was designed to prepare the rest of the Justice League if one of our members went rouge or was otherwise influenced to turn from justice," Flash began, "It was Batman's turn to play villain, we were instructed not to hold back, but don't kill." Wally and Iris were staring intensely at Barry, but somehow still eating their food. Barry continued, "He tried to use the same move that you used on Dick today on me. I countered it in with a move only taught to those specifically training under Ra's Al Ghoul." Barry and Wally looked down sadly at the name. Barry started to touch his teardrop opal necklace. He did that when he was nervous or uncomfortable.

Wally whistled, "How did you get out of that one?" He asked. "I convinced him that I had seen I member of the League of Shadows do it when I tried to recreate the move that I 'saw' Batman do in previous fights." Wally stared at him stupefied. "And he believed that?!" Wally asked in surprise. He couldn't believe that Mearkastie Natte had believed that.* That explanation seemed just a little too far fetched, even for him. "It was a while before he stopped following me and researching my background, but eventually he stopped looking into it when crime spiked in Gotham," Barry replied.

Wally smirked before he went to collect everyones plates and bowls, seeing as they were all empty. Iris and Barry went into the living room and started to play a game of Catchphrase. Wally went to the kitchen and did the dishes. He was finished in under a minute, so he went upstairs to his room. Wally collapsed on his bed and turned his head to his clock, it was 7:49pm. Wally sighed and got up. The speedster reached under his bed and pulled out a wrapping of cloth. It was about 5 feet in length and more precious to Wally than anything else in his room.

Carefully, the speedster unwrapped the cloth and pulled out a long, silver haladie. The steel weapon was beautifully crafted, incredibly detailed engravings of mythical creatures littered the two blades in perfect symmetry. A dragon, two manticores, a great winged sphinx, the fearsome kelpie and many more. They were adapted from the stories to look more fearsome, but still recognizable as that myth. For example, the manticore and sphinx had the heads of lions and the thunder bird had 8 metallic wings and a coat of armored feathers. The handle had no guard and was wrapped in a dark red cloth. On the front of one blade was an inscription, Kimarahan Elam.

Wally looked down sadly at his old name. When he came of age, he had wanted a name that would be remembered for centuries. He had earned his name when he claimed his first kill. When Barry passed the League's trials he chose the name Neccare Savarga, meaning 'Nature's Fury'. However, after about a year after he joined the League as a full member, Ra's granted him a title, 'Zehiel Salkiya'. The name meant 'Soul Keeper'.

Wally remembered how he got that title, it was an unusual story. Something wet slid down his cheek. And that's when he realized... he had been crying. He didn't miss the League of Shadows, but he did miss his father and his sisters. Ra's may not have been the best parent, but he was the only one Wally had ever known. He had taught him how to fight and how to kill. He had trained him to be the best and to one day take his place. And in some part of his mind, Wally knew that Ra's had loved him and that he had loved his father. His mother, Mehira, died giving birth to him and Nyssa's and Talia's mothers both died giving birth their daughters many years later.

Wally sighed and wrapped his blade back in the cloth. "You'll always be there for me, right?" Wally flinched at the memory of his little sister. "Yes, Young One, I'll always be there to protect you, I'll never let anyone hurt you." It was an empty promise, an unkeepable vow. "Promise?" Her voice haunted him. "Yes my little flower, I promise." Wally almost laughed bitterly at how badly he had broken that promise. He missed Talia so much, but she had chosen her path... and he had chosen his. She chose to leave him, and he needed to move on.

Nyssa too would always hold a place in his heart. "Big Brother?" He remembered her calling him one night, well after the moon had reached its peek. "Yes?" He had replied. "Can you sleep with me?" He had looked at her questioningly. "I had a nightmare," She mumbled. Wally's eyes had softened. That night, he cradled his sister in his arms and swore to protect her. She was his first sister, his first real friend. She was always looking on the bright side, even when things were dark. Nyssa was his light, but Ra's only saw her as a distraction. Wally raised his sister more than her own father! He supposed that was when he started to harbor bitter resentment for the man who had raised him. One night, Father told him to kill her. Another tear slid down his cheek. When Wally refused, Ra's slit Nyssa's throat in front of him. He hadn't been able to keep his oath.

Still... Oh how he wished he could spend one more day with his little sisters. One day with the people who had first brought light into his then cold heart. He wondered if Talia hated him, for breaking his promise. He wandered if she hated him for not finding her. He wondered if she even wanted to be found, or if she was even alive anymore. He could still see the hurt and betrayal in her beautiful blue eyes when Father told Wally to kill her like Nyssa, when he had almost ended her life. She was only a child at the time. Wally sighed, why can't I just forget her. She probably hates me because of what I did, so why can I not just let her go? He had been asking himself that question for a while now.

Then, Wally thought about her son. The speedster had helped raise the child in the Shadows, long before Wally had thought of leaving her Father. When Wally left, he considered offering to take Damian, but decided against it. He had needed to leave and Damian was loyal to his grandfather, through and through. At least, he was then. Still, Wally found her son years later and offered training to the boy, as well as guidance. He supposed that he was just making himself feel better, training his sister's child so that he may relieve some of the guilt for not being there for Talia.

He left with her when her son came of age, he was well over a hundred, but stuck in the body of a teenager from his use of the Lazarus Pit's. Sometimes, Wally regretted leaving the Shadows. He had lost both of his sisters. When he got his powers, it slowed down his aging even more than it already was and made him appear to be fifteen to seventeen. Wally punched his wall, nothing happened, it was reinforced by Barry to handle punches of a speedster after Wally punched a hole in the wall. Why does her memory haunt me so? Why can't I forget her eyes, her heartbroken and tear filled blue eyes.

Wally glanced at the clock 10:03. He pushed his cloth wrapped blade back in its proper place before he climbed up onto his bed. Wally wiped the tears from his eyes and got into a comfortable position in bed. He could faintly hear Aunt I snoring and he felt a twinge of pity for Uncle Barry, but it was gone as soon as it came. Wally closed his eyes and went to sleep. His dreams were filled with a girl who had long brown hair, pale skin and piercing ice blue eyes.

* Mearkastie Natte is Batman's League name. It means Darkest Night (Not exactly in any language, I changed a few letters) Every member in the League of Assassins has a name they use in the League. Those born into the League chose their name when their training is complete and those inducted into the League chose their name upon entering and completing the trials that Ra's assigns them. When one born into the League hasn't gotten their name, they are referred to as 'Young One' or in groups, 'Young Ones'. It is possible for a name to change, if a member is granted a title by Ra's. To get a title, you must either have a certain personality trait, or complete some sort of task or mission. For example of the first scenario, one could be renamed Blood Moon, because they only killed under the moon. For example of the second scenario, one could be renamed Hunter, because they killed someone or something they had to track for a while.
