Chapter 2

"Not exactly but I should because it will make spells easier to do," Hermione said while Harry and Draco walked in and sat down across from Hermione.

So much for reading.

Hermione closes the book to give them her attention, "How was your summer?" she asked.

"Not much it was mostly boring still Dra came and I spent the rest of summer with him," Harry said.

"You mean mostly in bed," Hermione said, smiling.

Draco smirked, "Best place," Harry pushed him only made his laugh.

"How was yours?" Harry asked.

Hermione glanced at the book in her lap remembering the event of that mysterious girl. That didn't went unnoticed by Draco who stopped laughing to focus his grey eyes at her reminding her of the girl with similar eyes but just a shade darker.

"Hmm, something happened," Hermione frowned and Draco grinned like a cat who just got his bowl of milk.

" ." said Draco.

"Well when I was getting my books for this year I met this mysterious girl who handed me these two books after stamping them," She took out the second book and showed them the first page were the symbol was or supposed to be.

"What symbol?" Harry asked, leaning forward for a closer look while Draco shook his head, "Forget the symbol and focus on the girl because after your break up with Victor someone new can help," Draco said.

Hermione narrowed her gaze at him who lifted his hand in an 'I surrender' motion. "For starters my break up with Victor was mutual because he needed to focus on his quidditch career. I don't understand why I can see the symbol and you two can't."

"Did she say anything meaningful when she gave you the books?" Harry asked in detective mode. Hermione was sure he would be a great auror.

"No. Unless she asking me if I like books count,"

Harry frowned, "That's not much to go on,"

"Can we talk about something else like how we are going to get Mione a boyfriend or better girlfriend or technically anyone that can keep up amazing intelligence." Draco said.

"Dragon," Harry said, warningly.

"Alright, but I'm not giving up," Draco said. Hermione had already given up on telling him to stop trying to get her with someone.

"Well the owner would not accept the money for the books and just said that it was not necessary because it was check out," Hermione said.

"Huh that is a clue," Harry said and Hermione nodded. She picked up Runes: Magical Properties and unconsciously started reading it. While Harry and Draco continue on back to talking about who knows what.

She was so focused on the book that she doesn't even know how she even managed to get into the Great Hall. But she was sure it was because of Harry and Draco who oddly was sitting across from her in the Gryffindor table.

"Draco are sure you can be here?" Hermione asked.

"No, but I keeps him away," Draco said. Hermione followed his eye moment to Ron glaring at them.

"Is he still anger about me rejecting him?" she asked, glancing at Draco worriedly.

"I don't think so because he is dating Lavender Brown," Draco said.

Harry slips his pumpkin juice before he said, "It still amazes me how you know what goes on this place on who is dating who,"

Hermione smiled, "That's because Draco is an information broker," Harry ran a hand through his messy hair a few times. A clear sign that her words worried him that a small kick to Draco's leg got Draco calming him. Hermione admire their relationship that it was close to what she had with Victor but now her mind can't focus on her love life. Since that job was taken by Draco so that school and the weird symbol for her to figure out.

Hermione spent the rest of dinner reading which Harry didn't mind instead it started to worry him. Especially, when she left after she ate some dinner and went to the Gryffindor tower before they were even dismiss.

"Dragon, do you think she might get obsess with this symbol in books that a mysterious girl gave her?" Harry asked.

Draco grabbed his hand under the table and gave it a squeeze.

"We are not going to let that happen," he said.
