Sometimes I have dreams of a frozen wasteland. But this time it's a memory.

Snow is cold. I don't like the cold. The frozen flakes gently, slowly drifted down. I can see my breath when I breathe. My family recently moved here, so I'm sitting on a bench at kindergarten, pouting, when a girl with blue eyes and pigtails walks up to me.

"You're not going to play?" she asked.

"I don't need to." She was so naive to talk to me. "… No one to play with anyway… Why are you talking to me?" The other kids were scared; apparently I have an icy stare.

"Well, you look lonely, and I don't have anyone to play with either." She smiled so brightly she could light a room.

My eyes widen in surprise. She looked like the kind of girl with so many friends, a guy like me would never be able to get close to her. Even on the first day…

"What would we play?" I tilt my head to the side. She's serious?

A stunned look crossed her face. "Eh-heh. You know, I don't know. We could sit her and talk. My name's Hana by the way," she giggled.

"Hiroshi."

I had never really thought about it then, but now I know that that day, her smile had warmed me from the cold. Subconsciously, I likely knew education wasn't the only reason I went to school. I would occasionally see her in town, too, and sometimes we'd meet tin the local park and pick flowers. We were kids, and it's not like that now. We're 14, so it'd be kind of awkward…

Once, still in kindergarten, we met Youhei, and we hung out with him, too. He was stumped about something but now is pretty cheery. Her smile helped him and I was jealous, but not like I knew. But what's to come of a cheerful boy and girl? I'm no match.

I sat up. A dream like that, huh? Dreams are always realistic, like watching a movie, but this was like reliving it… I blush thinking about my dream and Hana.

I sigh and look off my bed. On the desk is a Pokéball with a Pokémon I raised from an egg. Soon, I want to go on a journey with Hana and Yohei and become strong. I'm going to use this journey to my advantage. Two years ago, my sister's Pokémon was stolen by Team Plasma and it suddenly got cold here and Ishuu's slowly freezing… And I'm going to find out why.

A/N: I've been messaged that their names have been released, but I wrote this before then. I like these names better, and besides, you can choose their names in the games. Sorry if that's a pet peeve for any of you. I don't think Hiroshi's much of a tsundere character, but it comes off a little like that in the beginning I guess, but he's actually quite clueless! From now on, chapters will be longer!. I'll update as soon as I can, but wait a while, okay? Anyway, my writing style has changed a little since this was written, but I edited some bits just now to make it flow better with the story! It'll be a little different from the game but also retain important stuff.
