Chapter 2 : Settling In

Rose followed Scorpius through the City and to a home that had a brownstone front and large bay windows in the front. "Ready to come home?" Scorpius asked and Rose gave a nod and he pulled out his key and opened the door, and let the two kids go running through the home.

"You didn't leave anything dangerous where they could reach it, right?" Rose asked as she entered the home before Scorpius, due to him waving her in before him.

"If I did, I think you would have tried to kill me already." Scorpius smirked as he headed past her, through the doorway to her right was the living room and an open doorway that led towards where she could see a dinning room table with a green and silver table cloth on it and entering through another open doorway to a kitchen.

Rose realized the floors were wood, similar to the Burrow's but the way he decorated the walls she realized he took some ways of decorating from the Burrow, with plain walls with paintings and red drapes covered the large front window of the living room which was to her right. But she could tell that the way how it was scarce to see anything out of place, he had taken that from the Manor, along with the way the Dinning Room Table was. The Kitchen Table reminded her of Hogwarts, with a wooden bench on either side. She walked through each room, admiring how he had set up the home.

She entered the Kitchen to find Scorpius putting somethings away. "Come on, Rosie. I want to show you your room." Scorpius said taking her hand as he finished drying the last cup before putting it away in a cabinet. He then led her back the way she came and over to the steps and up them. She could hear Grace and Jake laughing in the room at the top of the steps, but Scorpius gently pulled her along. The next room was the bathroom. Then another room, Scorpius opened the door and let go of Rose's hand. She entered the room and looked around. It was plain white walls and white sheets on the bed. There was a bookcase next to the closet, where she noticed that held no books at all. She looked at Scorpius slightly confused.

"I didn't put any books on the shelves, because I wasn't sure if you had books that you wanted there or you wanted to get new books, or what you wanted to do with the shelves. We can always paint the room a different color and get you new Bed Spread and Sheets if you want." Scorpius replied. Rose saw his pleading look. He didn't want her to be unhappy, and she could tell. She smiled at him and rushed forward wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Thank you, Scorpius." She whispered.

"Your welcome, Rosie." He whispered back, and she felt him wrap his arms around her tightly. She couldn't describe how she felt so much comfort and how she had missed him giving her a hug.

"What are you doing, Grace?" Scorpius asked finding the little girl climbing onto a dinning room chair after Rose ran out to go get groceries, which Scorpius insisted he would do but she refused to let him.

"I get apple." She said pointing to the bowl of fruit he had on the dinning room table. He smiled and picked her up.

"You know what I hear was your favorite?" He said as he walked with her in his arms to the kitchen, where he set her onto the counter and he opened the fridge.

"What?" She asked with a big grin.

"Blueberries." He smiled and pulled out the small box of blueberries before getting her a hard plastic red bowl and he put a handful in the bowl and asked, "Good?" She he handed the bowl to her and she pick up a blueberry and put on in her mouth.

"Yes!" She beamed up at him. "Jake say we no see Grandmum no more." She looked at him as if she was trying to figure out if her brother had told her the truth.

"I plan on your mother wanting to return to the Burrow to visit."

"We stay?"

"Yes, you're going to live here with me."

"Is Dad... going to get us?" Scorpius heard Jacob ask from behind him he turned to see Jacob standing in the doorway to the kitchen from the Dinning Room.

"No and I promise you, Jacob and Grace, that I won't let him hurt you, okay?" Scorpius replied looking at the two kids. Jacob looked hesitant but Grace nodded happily. Jacob asked for juice and Scorpius gave him apple juice and then the two kids disappeared up stairs to play some game with their toys. Scorpius waited for Rose return but when it got to late afternoon he decided he should start dinner. So he called the kids downstairs and they started making mac'n'cheese and oven baked chicken and Scorpius talked them into picking a vegetable and they chose green beans so he made those as well.

Scorpius finished dinner with the kids by seven... and Rose was now gone for almost five hours. He watched some Disney with the kids until eight before sending them off to bed and he laid on the couch waiting for Rose to return.
