The campsite
Hello everyone before we get to the story I just would like to say that I know I didn't write very good but I will fix anything you dislike please review and tell me how I did, any comments are useful even if its negative. Please read on and stay put.
By the bridge
Eureka and Renton finally joined the crew on the bridge where everyone was waiting to have a meeting. As they walk in Holland already started to report to everyone what they all must do.
"Holland ,you called?" Eureka asks while still holding Renton's hand.
"Well I was just about to announce that we will be camping on this side. So bring bags ,tents and all. Once you got everything, Meet us by the hanger." Holland replied but to the entire crew.
Hap smiled "Okay everyone, lets get to it! I don't want to wait any longer to ride those waves."
Matthieu and Hilda nods and went to collect everyone's bags while Moondoggie, who was in the background of the meeting, was crawling through a tight storage area and got stuck trying to grab out the tents.
Gidget tries to pull him and finally managed. Moondoggie smiles at Gidget, feeling pretty stupid for getting stuck in the first place and then in a silly gesture says to Holland, "I have the tents Holland. Gidget and I will take it to the bridge so long." Holland nods and dismisses them.
"And me leader?" Talho sarcastically says, folding her arms but looking quite ambitious.
Holland looks at Talho, he opened his mouth to give an order, but then rather he thinks again and then replies. "You have already packed all our things and you have gone through a lot today. How about you just sit down for abit and rest?"
Talho, feeling insulted, folds her arms and stubbornly says " Oh no, I am not just going to sit here and be like those lazy ass girls from tv shows. I am going to help."
"No, You might get hurt. There is a lot that could happen while carrying and moving stuff and I would like to avoid that." Holland looks at Talho's stomach and lifts his eyebrow at her. Talho knew that she could probably persist, but knowing Holland and him being just as stubborn as her. She decided to give in and just sits down grouchily while watching everyone run around doing stuff.
"Leader I have found the perfect spot to place down camp." Matthieu runs in breathlessly and really happily.
"Really? Great, show us." Holland grabs the basket of food with one hand, and takes his stubborn wife's hand with his other.
"Can I at least carry some food with as well? I don't want to look completely useless." Talho says with a pout. Holland nods and let her grab a bag full of drinks and snacks.
Renton and Eureka was busy packing their own picnic basket with a picnic blanket.
"Eureka ... why are we packing the basket if we are going camping?"
"Because Renton, I hoping to find a spot for us to have a small picnic. But one just for me and you."
Renton smiles sweetly and thinks " Is this her way of saying she is taking me out on a date? Can Eureka really be so cute and romantic? I wonder if Gidget put her up to this... hmmm no maybe Eureka really just wants to go on a date... Maybe... Just maybe we can... we... hmm " Renton gets lost in his overthinking thoughts with a slight naughty grin on his face.
"Renton...Renton!" Eureka calls out to him noticing he is doing that odd face again.
Renton snaps back to reality"huh...What Eureka?"
"Would you like peanut butter or cheese?" Eureka asked holding the peanut butter jar and a packet of cheese.
"With what Eureka" Renton would feel flustered realizing he was thinking all these things with her right there.
"syrup of cause"
"Oh I like peanut butter please"
After Eureka and Renton finished making their sandwiches and packing their own little picnic basket. They grabbed what else they could and went to the hanger as ordered.
By the hanger
Once everyone has grouped up and got all the camping gear placed in the hanger, they awaited on Holland's next order.
"Okay everyone, Matthieu has found us a place to camp. So grab something to carry and let's go" Holland ordered his crew
Everyone grab their things and more and went to go set up camp.
Eureka and Renton decided to take Nervash with them, after all, strange things always seems to happen to them, so why not?
"Renton do you have everything?" Eureka asks as she tries to get into Nervash.
Renton, who is already sitting in Nervash, replies "Yes Eureka its already packed...here Eureka let me help you" Renton holds out his hand and helps Eureka up.
"Thanks Renton"
Once settled, Nervash spins its wheels and drives out, without the couple even asking so.
Out on land
Matthieu trotted proudly as he was showing the crew the same place that he showed Talho and Holland. It was very lush and covered in all kinds of flowers." This is it!" Matthieu happily shows off, gesturing with his arms out wide.
Everyone sighs out of relief, placing down all their baggage and starts unpacking.
Gidget and Moondoggy decided to fix their tent first. The tent had a lovely mixture of blue and pink splash patterns. Holland wanted to do his and Talho's tent by himself, making Talho just stand there in annoyance, their light brown tent had almost a military look to it. Matthieu and Hilda agreed to sharing the dark red tent, near the equipment and valuables. Jobs and Waz decided to stayed on the ship. Hap was setting up the camp fire and Stoner was taking pictures for his blog and the new memory album he was making for the crew. The kids had their own colorful kiddies tent which was set up right next to Eureka and Renton's Blue and red tent.
"Mommy! Why can't we just all share a tent? Why do I always have to share a tent alone with the stinky boys?" Maeter stomps her feet and whines, crossing her arms.
"Because our tent is only big enough for 2 people and yours is large enough for 3 beautiful young little people." Eureka says smiling motherly at her grouchy blond haired angel.
"But then why doesn't Renton stay with the boys and I sleep in there with you mommy? Surely Renton can fit with them"
"Uh... b..because ... hmm.." Eureka flusters, she would be struggling to figure out how to appropriately explain to her child that Renton and her need private times too.
"Come on Maeter. Mommy and Daddy always sleep together. Hey how about this? I can quickly go and get you, your very own tent and have it placed on the other side of our tent. Would you like that?" Renton calmly asks Maeter, knowing by now, exactly how to father them.
"Really? Oh wow! Can it be pink? or yellow?" Maeter asks excitedly.
"Well how about you go tell Matthieu that you want your own tent and that I asked you to tell him that he must... And don't take no for an answer" Renton would say manipulatively.
"You got it Daddy!" Maeter runs off to pester Matthieu.
While the children were distracted, Eureka took the picnic basket and walks over to Renton.
"Renton, let's go find a place so we can have our picnic alone" Eureka whispers as she pulls on Renton's sleeve.
"I think we should maybe ask Holland first to make sure he doesn't need anything else from us." Eureka nods and the two walks hand in hand to where Holland is now sitting enjoying his beer in his holiday boxers laughing with Hap at the pictures Stoner took of Moondoggie struggling with the tent and Gidget trying to free him from the strings.
"How do you even manage to get that right is beyond me." Holland laughs.
"Um Holland..." Renton walks up to Holland abit shyly. Holland looks at Renton with a smile. "Holland has been a lot more happier today" Renton thinks to himself.
"Well? What is it Renton?" Holland asks getting slightly impatient.
"I want to go on a picnic with Renton please Holland." Says Eureka.
"So you want to go for a picnic?" Looks at the couple and then at Talho, who just sweetly smiles and nods." ... alright but don't come back too late okay? I would like everyone at the campsite during the night." Holland made sure the young couple understood. Renton and Eureka nodded and excitedly walked off.
"I tell you, those two need to get laid." Holland says loudly enough to make the guys around him chuckle. Talho smacks him over the head. " Maybe you should take me on a picnic sometime and be romantic for once."
"Oh come on. We're doing this together aren't we?" Holland defensively says, getting slightly embarrassed as he hears his friends chuckling at him.
" Yeah, but making fun of Moondoggie isn't exactly romantic for me." Talho says crossing her arms.
"Okay fine. I will make a plan alright?" Knowing he has lost, Holland stands up from the guys and takes Talho to go enough some campfire food.
Sunset
"How much further must we go" Renton whines.
"There is a hill just up head Renton, we are going to sit there." Eureka points towards a hill covered in flowers. As they reach the top of the hill, they could see in the distance, nothing but flowers and beautiful hills. The sunset just touching the ground made the whole scenery look almost like a painting.
"WOW!... its so beautiful up here Eureka!"Renton looks stunned at the view and then excitedly starts unpacking the picnic set.
Once the picnic blanket was laid down, Eureka's eyes widen and gasped.
"Wow... Renton, it's an Eurose" Eureka pick the flower, with amazement, the flower looked similar to a rose but with various colors all over it. Eureka had picked an Eurose with its main color being blue.
"Eurose?" "I never heard of it..."Renton picked a red one and looked at it curiously. "Looks almost like an odd rose to me."
"Oh it's a rare rose breed. They are rarely seen and the only time you can find them is here." Eureka puts the flower into the basket.
Renton and Eureka spent a few minutes gazing at the sunset, feeling like this moment was just made for them. Eureka leans towards Renton and shares a passionate kiss with him. When Eureka breaks the kiss, Renton noticed tears in her eyes.
"Eureka..whats wro..."
"Oh Renton I ...I'm sorry." Eureka looks at him with these teary lavender eyes.
"For what Eureka?"Renton places his hand on her shoulders. "Why are you crying?"
" You do so much for me and I just sometimes feel like I don't deserve you... or that I am just so different and it causes me to wander how long we can actually be together before you start wondering ...if I am not human.. what can't I do that a human can? and what if..." Eureka cries a bit more.
"Oh Renton I am sorry" She hugs him and places her sobbing face against his chest ,soaking it with her tears.
Renton lifts her head and he gently kisses her. At this moment, it would feel like all the struggles that happened 2 years back has suddenly left Eureka's mind.
Renton breaks the kiss first and looks at Eureka, shaking his head.
"Eureka I am glad that you have brought me into this. If you haven't I wouldn't be here. With you, I would still be probably stuck at that boring old garage. I will never regret the good and the bad days either because they all are part of today and the future, they are all memories, and believe me. I will not just suddenly stop loving you because you are not human. Eureka I think it is pretty awesome to be loving you." Renton tries to comfort Eureka and holds her closely. "So stop being so silly."
"Renton...you would have died for me and you do so much for me..."
"That was 2 years ago Eureka, and I would do it all again. I would do that because I love you and I would rather be dead than to live on knowing I could have had you. Also... what possibly more could you want to do for me? There is nothing a human can do that you can't do. So do worry."
Eureka smiles, feeling like now would be the right time, she has always had it on her mind but as always and now, she could not find herself to say something so embarrassing. "Renton I want to ...ne..ver mind". Eureka blushes and finds herself that she can't say it. "Urgh, why is it so hard to say it?" Eureka thinks to herself.
"What Eureka?"
"hmmm." Eureka shakes her head. "It's nothing, nevermind."Eureka quickly goes through the basket to find something to change the subject with and takes out all the sandwiches.
"Want one?" Eureka picks up a peanut butter and syrup sandwich and hands it to him.
"Thanks" Renton takes a big bite out of it, realizing how hungry he actually was.
While eating, they realised that they must have had more sandwiches. Eureka counted the amount that they had and how much is left and realized...
"Renton we are missing 3 sandwiches" Eureka worriedly looks at Renton.
Renton looks up and noticed ahead, nearly choking on his bread he says "Look Eureka that wild cat has our sandwiches!." Renton points at a cat that appears to have wings.
"No Renton, that's not a cat, its a Danfly,it's related to the cat family but isn't exactly a cat. It's more like a racoon cat thing with wings.."
"Oh well whatever it is it has our bread!" Renton stands up to get it but once another two danflies flew past he just stood there and watched. Motherlike Danfly took the food to her younglings and the little ones started nibbling on the sandwiches making adorable roar like sounds.
"Oh Renton look, it has a family." Eureka smiles.
"Oh shit! Look how late it is Eureka, we must be heading back to the camp"
"Yeah you're right. Holland will be mad if we don't hurry." Eureka starts packing the basket and Renton helps.
When they were done packing the basket. Renton picked up a camera he borrowed from Hap and took a picture of the place they were sitting. While Eureka was taking one last look at view, Renton took a picture which came out so beautiful. Eureka standing on the hill and her wings glowing just like the moon which says R+E
Renton and Eureka gazed one more time and then finally left.
"Renton.." Eureka says sweetly.
"yeah, Eureka?"
"Thank you for this memorie" Eureka looks at Renton with these soft loving eyes.
Renton smiles at her and takes her hand. " Let's do this again one day."
