Chapter 2

"Your MOTHER?!" cried Jessica as Tony and Ziva filled the rest of the team in on what they had uncovered in Henson's house.

"Yes," said Ziva as the team stood in Henson's home. "But she's been dead for years. This picture was taken three years ago. How is she-"

Ziva continued to stare at the picture of Henson and Rivka David.

"We'll find her Ziva," said Tony. "Don't worry." Ducky and Palmer had been long gone with Henson's body, and the team packed up their belongings to head back to D.C.

Tony and Ziva climbed back into the Charger and buckled in.

"You okay?" asked Tony as he looked at Ziva, who was still staring at the picture.

"I thought I was the only one left," whispered Ziva. "She was here, with Henson when my father was killed. And now, I do not know where she is." Tony took her face in his hands and kissed her.

"We'll find her, Baby, I promise," said Tony. "I can't wait to meet her."

"What do ya got Abs?" asked Tony as he, Ziva, and McGee walked into the lab, where Abby was playing with Tali and T.J on a spread out blanket, toys scattered everywhere.

"Major Mass Spec is still running the samples from the crime scene, and I'm running an AFIS scan on the fingerprints we found, so for right now, nothing," said Abby.

"Ima!" said Tali, holding her arms out to Ziva.

"Hello Tatelah, I'm back and so is Abba," smiled Ziva as she picked up Tali. Tony leaned over and kissed Tali's cheek.

"Any luck on Ziva's mom?" asked McGee as he picked up T.J. and set him on his hip.

"Yes," said Abby, going to the computer. "I've checked bank accounts and cell phone records. Your mother is alive Ziva. Her last location known is the Adams Hotel, here in DC."

"Mr. DiNozzo, it's nice to see you again," said the manager of the Adams. "How can I help you today?"

"We are looking for Rivka David," said Tony, holding up a photo of Ziva's mother to the clerk.

"She may be checked in under an alias," said Ziva as she held Tali on her hip.

"Yes, she is here," said the manager. "Room 305. Paid for a month in advance."

"Thank you," said Ziva and they hurried to the elevator. They got off at the third floor and stood in front of Rivka's hotel room. Tony banged on the door.

"Ima! I know you're in there!" cried Ziva. "Open up!" The door flung open and Ziva came face-to-face with her mother.

"Hello Tatelah, I was wondering when you would find me," said Rivka as she ushered them in. "We have much to talk about, yes?"

"Oh you have no idea," muttered Tony as Ziva passed Tali to Rivka.

"Ima, allow me to introduce you to your future son-in-law, Anthony DiNozzo, and your granddaughter, Tali Caitlin DiNozzo."

"Oh she is precious," said Rivka. "You named her after your sister?"

"And after Kate, the woman that Ari killed," said Tony. "She was my partner before Ziva came to NCIS."

"I'm so very sorry, my son," said Rivka. "Ari was a bastard of a step-son. So where do I start?"

"First things first, tell us about Walter Henson, and your relationship with him," said Tony.

"How did you know about Walter?" asked Rivka.

"That is how I knew you were alive, Ima," said Ziva. "We saw your picture with him in his office. Ima, Henson is dead."

Rivka's eyes widened in horror and her hand came up to her mouth in shock.

Meanwhile, across town, Jessica was at her apartment making dinner for herself and her fiance, who was going to be home any minute.

"Momma? I have snack?" asked a little blonde three-year old girl as she rushed into the room.

"Of course, Maddie, but something healthy so you don't spoil your dinner," said Jessica. "Have a banana."

As Madison grabbed a banana out of the fruit bowl, and Jessica peeled and cut it up for her, there was a knock at the door.

"Be right back, baby girl," said Jessica, turning the stove down. "Stay away from the stove."

Jessica walked to the door and peered through the peephole.

"It's Gibbs, Jess, open the door," said one Former Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

"Oh hey boss," said Jessica, opening the door. "What can I do for you?"

"It's about that case you and the team are working on, and I'm not your boss anymore," said Gibbs as he entered the apartment.

"Gibbs!" cried Madison, rushing over.

"Hi Maddie, look how big you got!" said Gibbs, picking her up and hugging her.

"Maddie, Gibbs and Mommy need to talk NCIS, can you be a good girl and go play in your room until dinner's ready?"

"Okay, Mommy," said Madison as Gibbs set her down and ran off to her room to play.

"Are you hungry? I can set another place. Josh should be home soon," said Jessica as she continued to cook.

"Sounds great," said Gibbs. "I hear Ziva's back in town and Rivka David's alive."

"You talked to Tony I presume?" asked Jessica as she set an extra place at the dining room table.

"Mother and daughter reunited at the Adams Hotel this afternoon," said Gibbs as Jessica set a beer in front of him.

"But that's not why you are here," said Jessica.

"Henson was in charge of aiding the Witness Protection Program by being a go-to person," said Gibbs. "Rivka was put into Witness Protection when she saw several U.S. Marines killed in Israel in a sting gone bad. The team thinks Henson was killed because he knew too much. And Rivka wasn't the only person we know that Henson helped."

"How long have you known?" asked Jessica with a sigh. She knew what was coming next.

"A while, actually," said Gibbs. "Why didn't you tell me it was you?"

"Because you had moved on, and I was happy with my new life, and Josh and Madison," said Jessica. "You didn't come looking for me. I came looking for you. That's why I joined NCIS. When the Reynosas were caught, I was able to come out of hiding and return to DC."

Just then, the door opened and Josh, Jessica's fiance walked in.

"Hi honey, I'm home," said Josh. "Oh hey, Gibbs. What brings you here?"

"Josh, there's something I need to confess," said Jessica as Gibbs took over cooking. "I'm not who you think I am."

"Jess?" asked Josh confused.

"You know I was adopted right?" asked Jessica, receiving a nod from Josh. "Well, the truth is, that's only part true. Josh, twenty-four years ago, when I was seven, I was placed into the Witness Protection Program. My mother and I witnessed a murder. We were in a bad car accident that was caused by the man who we saw kill a Marine. I was the only survivor. At that time, NCIS was called NIS. They arranged it all and faked my death while my father was stationed overseas. He had no idea I was still alive. Josh, my name is not Jessica Marie Black. It's Kelly Ann Gibbs."

Josh just stared back and forth between her and Gibbs as father and daughter reunited in a hug.

"I missed you Kel," whispered Gibbs.

"I missed you too, Dad," replied Jessica/Kelly.
