Chapter 2: Hello Ozpin

Kevin walked out of his apartment locking the doors and ensureing that his most precious belongings would be safe until he returned for them, he did not think he would be living here for long. Kevin made it to the first floor before getting stoped by the Clerk.

"Mister Bradling, Mister Bradling. you are 2 months overdue and I need your money yesterday." He said with a stern face before Kevin put his face right in front of the clerks face and growled

"You will get you money soon I promises you, In fact i'm going on an enthusiastic walk right now." Kevin said menacingly to the clerk before turning around and walking through the glass doors into the streets.

Walking down the street Kevin noticed the resentful glares from all the people who would look at him. It wasn't his fault that the job went bad and he caused thousands of dollars of property damage to this city. But as long as they let him buy necessities he didn't really care. Kevin continued to walk past dimly lit apartments and quaint coffee shops until he came across a dust store and decided to acquire dust. Usually this was not a problem but lately there have been an increase of attacks on Dust stores from organizations after around 10:00 pm as there was less security at that time, many people said that is was those Organizations that were paying off the police to lighten security around said parts at the same of the attacks. Which is why Kevin was there, he had been tracking the routes that these so called organizations use and he came up with a pattern which had yet to lead him astray. He looked at his watch, it said 10:15 the usual time they attacked. They come in as a group with a stronger fighter in the front to intimidate the shop keeper and whether or not he complied, they would begin collecting the dust with tubes and boxes to carry the dust crystals out. Kevin already "convinced" the cashier to allow him to play his part in stopping these crooks. To bad for Kevin that a certain red head was also in the shop he was "looking after".

'10:45 hmm where could they be.' He thought to him self before a large group of people walked through the door which immediately put a dark smile onto Kevin's face, because he knew tonight would be great. Not only did one of the strongest of the group come but it was none other than Roman. The man who lives in the shadows, said to be a Grimm incarnate in a humans body, and that no one crosses him unless they had a death wish. Well Kevin was going to cross him and destroy his whole operation.

"Hello Sir, how can I help you today?" I asked, not at all scared of the men partially surrounding me.
"You have no idea how hard it is finding a Dust store open this late" Roman retorted with little regard to what I just said to him. I was slowly moving my hand towards my weapon before one of the guards pulled a gun out and pointed it at my head and shoved a box in front of me demanding that I put Dust crystals into it so I replied

"And if I dont comply?" I asked

"Then I have the liberty of shooting you" The henchmen retorted before laughing with his accomplices. I directed my stare at the offending henchmen and began slowly putting the crystals into the box until my hand was close enough to my weapon. I pretended to drop a crystal and slowly bent down to grab it while said henchmen had his pistol lazily pointed at me, probably thought because I was a clerk I couldn't do anything which was a terrible thing to do. I was about to grab my weapon but before I could one of Romans guys got kicked out of the building and through the window. Roman nodded to the other guys to see what happened which one did and the same thing happened to him but this time a little girl flew on his torso through the already broken window and jumped onto the ground with her weapon already being swung around her in a somewhat exhausting manner and she stuck it into the pavement. At first I was shocked that such a little girl could wield such an unwieldy weapon, but quickly pushed the thought away because this was the break I wasn't expecting but I would take what ever help I could get. Roman walked out of the store with the rest of his guards to confront this little girl. And when I got a better look at her she reminded me of my sister. I felt a pang of grief before I shoved it down to participate in the fight in front of me.

"Get her" Roman said before the rest of the guards ran after the young girl. She swung herself around the weapon while planting her feet in his face sending him somersaulting on the ground, landing on the ground she ripped the weapon out from the pavement and smashed it into the next guys chest embedding it and tearing through his organs effectively killing the poor bastard. She used her weapon to shoot her into the air which caught one of the guys off guard and impaled him into the ground but before she could get her weapon out of the ground for the third time I had my Spear Slyphrena out and shot the man in the back with him falling over dead Roman looked towards Kevin and exclaimed

"Who the hell are you?" to which I replied

"The Names Kevin, All you need to know is that I will be the person to kill you for your crimes."
"Boy I've been threatened by more intimidating pieces of Toast." he replied trying to get me riled up but I just continued to stare at him until it got awkward

"Well its been fun Kids but I gotta fly" Roman mused before shooting the ground and causing a huge cloud of smoke to rise from the crater and envelope himself and the girl before making his escape. I ran through the smoke trying to catch up to him but he seemed to disappear.
"Dammit where did he go" Screamed a frustrated Kevin before he noticed the girl who was also looking at the roof where said villain was climbing up to.
"Want to go af- but before he could finish his sentence the girl was already running towards the wall and shooting the ground to fly over and get to Roman before he got away.
"Well" he said before running at the wall. Kevin activated his boot which allowed him to glide to the wall, before he hit the wall Kevin jumped and used the momentum and the ice dust to glide up the wall where he pulled himself up with one hand to see Rudy being blown up by a crystal that Roman shot with his weapon

"NOOOO" shouted Kevin before realizing that another person was there to help the girl out. Kevin stayed back and found a comfortable spot on the ledge watching the fight proceed. Glenda Goodwitch was using Dust to control the rubble another Huntress in the ship was making with her fire attacks. It was a pretty even battle even with that little girls help but I knew that those two were going to get away so I decided to step it up. Throwing myself over the ledge and onto my feet I was already switching my weapon to the spear and taking aim against the ship, running faster than humanly possible I dropped onto my legs coating them with ice I began to slide and shot at the Plane with my 50 Cal. rounds putting golf sized holes in the hull. The other Huntress did not appreciate this fact and tried to throw fire at me but I shot her before she could do anything to harm me, the bullet connected with her hand and while it didn't do any real damage it pushed her back to the wall as I neared the edge I used the momentum to vault towards the ship sticking my spear into the ship. Roman shouted

"What do you want from me!"

"I want you dead!" I screamed before Roman leveled his gun towards Kevin and fired. I took the shot to my chest and was forced to fly towards the ground, Luckily I still had my weapon but I hit the ground hard which caused myself to black out.

Kevin woke up in a daze Unsure of his surroundings or situation. He began to prod his muscles to see if they were in working order. When ever he tried to move a muscle he would get a searing pain through out his body so he decided that his body was in bad shape and he still had no idea of where he was due to the blindfold and could not see a thing.

"Hes awake, should I call the head Mistress"
Hearing a voice Kevin began to formulate a plan of escape hoping against hope that Roman didn't pick him up to torture or humiliate him. But Kevin did not expect to be lectured from Glenda Goodwitch of all people.

"How stupid can one single person be, Of all the idiotic things one person could do. You not only managed to almost kill yourself and for what? Revenge because that's the only thing that comes to mind after what I saw out there."
She kept yammering on about the things I was doing like she was my mother. This kept up until she decided that she was done and ended with

"Professor Ozpin wanted to see you since we brought you to the hospital to patch you up."

"I see." Kevin mumbled, she stared at him for a good ten minutes before Ozpin came into the room.

"Ahh good to see that your awake, I'm Ozpin. How are you young man."

"I would be a lot better if I could see" I retorted.

Ozpin leaned over and pulled the blindfold on rather gently and took a long look at him until Kevin snaped

"Why do you want to talk to me, you must have something more important than meeting with a guy who fell 6 stories onto the ground." Ozpin laughed lightly at his observation

"Indeed I do but I wanted to offer you a choice. You see i'm beginning to think this whole dust ordeal is getting rather big and you seem to know quite a bit about Romans targets and how often he strikes. I could use your help." Kevin looked away from the man but Ozpin persisted

"The only thing I request from you is to come to Beacon academy for training where I can give you the resources to help bring Roman to Justice. You will answer to me and the teachers at beacon can help you to refine your abilities and your talents." Ozpin continued to look at Kevin for his answer, Kevin slowly looked towards Ozpin

"If I do this I need to get my stuff from my apartment."
"Already done" Ozpin explained

"OF course" Kevin retorted

"So its a yes?" Ozpin asked

"Fine..." Kevin replied

"Perfect well be near Beacon in 3 hours" He said before slipping out of the room

"Great. Now ill have to be in a team." Kevin said Gumpily.
