The next day, a Pokemon inspector came to the Gym. Misty gulped. "This is it. My entire future as a Gym Leader is hanging by a thread." she said.
The inspector checked out every detail of the Gym. At last, he finished. "I'm done with my inspection." he said.
Misty ran forward. "Did I pass?" she asked anxiously.
The inspector sighed. "No. Aside from the heavy cabinet, which, by the way, is too close to the pool, the water's too fresh for the marine Pokemon. There's paint peeling in every room. But the most dangerous of all is the cracked glass in the aquarium windows. You're hereby banned from being a Leader of this Gym." he said before leaving the Gym.
Misty fell to her knees sobbing. "My life is over. I just lost the one thing that keeps me going." she cried.
Misty ran from the Gym, tears rolling down her cheeks. Ash ran after her. "Misty! Wait!" he cried.
Ash found Misty at the edge of a cliff. "Misty! What are you doing?" he cried.
Misty sobbed. "I just lost my status as a Gym Leader. I have nothing left to live for." she said tearfully.
Ash sighed. "That's not true, Misty. We'll restore your status. I promise you we will." he said.
Misty beamed. Then she ran to Ash and threw her arms around him. "Thank you so much!" she cried.
