Chapter 2: Passing The Barrier

SPOV

"Beep, beep, beep", I woke up startled to see my alarm clock flinging all over the place. I quickly placed my hand on top to shut it and got up. I saw the time, it was 9:13. "Perfect," I said. I had enough time to take a shower, have a normal breakfast, and look up Haryana Boldo. I was kind of angry that I had to sleep while a different color was on my skin, but it was too late to take a shower last night.

I grabbed my undergarments, shorts and a green t-shirt, and a towel. Then I headed straight to the shower. I came back and it was 9:26. I went down and made myself a toasted bagel with butter (I hope.)Then I went on the computer and looked up, "Haryana Boldo." I really hoped she wasn't evil.

I quickly clicked on the first article and read to myself, "Once, in a small town in Hawaii, right next to the ocean, a young girl named Haryana Boldo was sitting on the curb and looking at the ocean. She quietly told herself, 'if only I can control the ocean.' What she did not know was that her wish had come true. One day while playing a hand game with a friend, she brought up her hand and at the same time the waves started to rise. She then noticed that she can control the ocean. She was always playing around with it, until one day while on a boat with her family, the boat was stuck between two huge rocks and the family couldn't get out. She thought 'all I have to do is raise the water so we won't be trapped, but it may cause a humongous tsunami back home.' She decided that she had to get her family home or else they would be trapped. She lifted up her hand and thought about the ocean rising and it did. The family was soon home and thankful for the miracle. As soon as they were at the docks, everything was a disaster and almost everybody was dead. Help came soon and rescued the safe ones. Haryana never meant to hurt anyone, but she couldn't die either."

"Wow this girl is tough to take on a decision like that. Guess she is a good person since she never meant to hurt anyone," I muttered to myself. I got off the computer in the living room and went to the dining room. Everybody was awake and eating eggs and blue ham. I was surprised. I checked the time, 10:35. Wow, 1 hour on the computer and everybody's awake.

"Good morning Sabrina, how was your sleep," Granny Relda asked.

"It was okay," I told her," How was everyone else's."

"Good," everyone said. Red and Daphne were talking about Hawaii, Mr. Canis and granny Relda were discussing matters, Uncle Jake was listening and staring to Daphne speak, and Puck was eating like a pig as always. I looked at him disgusted and when he looked up he just stuck his tongue out showing all of the food mixed together. I was going to throw up, but Granny Relda interrupted me.

"Liebling's, I have some bad news. Apparently someone has to stay in Ferryport Landing because of the barrier. Since I have to stay with everyone to make sure everything is suited well, and none of the children can stay, I was think if Jacob can stay," Granny said as nicely as possible. The look on Uncle Jakes face was furious.

"But mom, why do I have to stay. I want to go to Hawaii, it's not fair," Uncle Jake pouted.

"Well Jacob, I can trust you staying in the house and the rest of us need a trip out of town, we all need to bond. Oh, please Jacob, please, please, please," Granny whined.

"Fine, but bring me back souvenirs and pictures." And with that Granny smiled.

"Okay everyone we will be leaving at 12:30. I need everyone to make sure they have everything. Remember just bring clothing and nothing else. We can buy extras in Hawaii. Red, Mr. Canis and Puck, come with me to give you a potion to pass the barrier," Granny said.

"Wait we have a potion that lets us pass the barrier and no one ever told me," Puck shouted.

"We only use it for absolute emergencies, Puck," Granny calmly said and a little stunned at the boys tone. Then she, Uncle Jake, Mr. Canis, Red and Daphne left, leaving me and Puck alone.

"Never thought you would get so excited over leaving the town," I said and it did startle me when he screamed it.

"Well, it does get boring staying in the same place forever, Grimm," he said with a frown and then he left. I didn't want to be alone so I went to see where everyone was- Mirrors room. Granny was showing everybody a very tiny bottle. It must have been the potion. I sat down next to mom and dad-they're still sleeping- on the bed and listened to Granny.

"Okay everyone, its 11:45. I need everyone who's going on the trip, to get their bags and come back," Granny said. Daphne and I went to our rooms, while Puck, Mr. Canis, Red and Granny Relda went to theirs. We all came back with 2 bags each.

"Thank you everybody, now is everyone ready?" we all nodded. Granny smiled and turned to Uncle Jake who was sadly sitting in a corner, and then Granny got a little sad. "Oh Jacob, I'm sorry that you have to stay here." Uncle Jake looked up and in a minute of trying to collect himself he was smiling.

"Oh its fine mom, don't worry about me. Now come on. Ill drive all of you to the barrier." We all picked up our bags, went down the stairs and out of the house, and then piled into the car with our suit cases in the back. I could barely see who was next to me, but I knew Red and Daphne were sitting on somebody's laps. When we got to the barrier we all piled out and made Puck fly around on top of us to see if anybody was looking. When everything was clear, Mr. Canis, Red, and Puck drank a little bit of the potion and they were all glowing purple. We all laughed at them, even Mr. Canis laughed at himself.

Uncle Jake had to get out of the car and leave them to go to the airport, since he had to stay. Mr. Canis then went into the driver's seat and drove.

"Good luck, and call me when you get there. Remember girls, look out for clues. You are trying to solve a mystery," Uncle Jack shouted.

"We will. Bye Uncle

Me and Puck were sitting next to each other and Granny said that it would take an hour to drive there. So we could sleep. I took the advice and went to sleep, falling on somebody's shoulder, but I didn't care who it was. I was tired.
