I know it's been a while since I last updated this story and no I haven't forgotten about our favorite nymph. So without further ado. Here is the next chapter.
Calypso grew like a weed. There was no other way to put it. By the time she was six months old she looked like a one year old. She was already brilliant as Atlas knew she would be. She was after all his daughter. He smiled fondly as he watched her and her nursemaid Anna playing together.
"Can you say dada Calypso?" asked the woman who sat next to child on the floor.
Calypso just giggled and pointed her tiny hand at him.
At least she knew who he was Atlas thought to himself as he walked over to the pair. "Do you mind if I join you ladies?" he asked smiling down at them.
"Of course, sir," replied Anna. She turned towards Calypso with a smile on her face as the same image played through her mind. "Who is this Calypso?"
The little girl tilted her head in surprise. Hadn't Anna said that this was Calypso's father? Then why was she asking such a silly question?
"It's alright, little one," her father said as he patted her shoulder as gently as a Titan could, "you'll speak when your good and ready to. Won't you?"
Calypso smiled and nodded. She picked up a toy and went to work chewing on it. Calypso noticed a few minutes later neither adult was paying much attention to her. In her small pampered world that didn't settle to well. Getting up she stomped her tiny foot to get the much craved attention. But to no avail. The adults kept whispering.
"I see pain and sorrow for her, my lord," Anna said and then went into explaining what she had been seeing. How because of the Titan Calypso would be punished. She would find love with a man but he would leave her miserable. And then all would end in fire.
Atlas' laugh sounded off the walls drawing the attention of all the other servants. He continued to laugh as though this nursemaid/seer had just told him a joke. A very bad joke at that.
Calypso snorted in exasperation. "Daddy," she finally said folding her tiny arms over her chest.
"Did you hear that?" boomed Atlas. "My smart girl said her first word." He walked over and picked her up. "You are such a very smart girl. Let's go get you a treat."
Anna wrung her hands as she watched the father and child duo go off for whatever Calypso demanded today. She would have to get Atlas to take his responsibilities seriou.
I think I might make this a two parter. I hope you all enjoyed and I'll try to update this again soon.
