Six days ago I challenged your friend to a little race.
You said that he was better than me.
It hurt a lot more than I was willing to admit,
Until I spotted you placing your money on me.
Five days ago you gave me stolen goods.
And you somehow managed to convince me to use it.
I stammered out a thank you before you left for a hot run.
But I still don't know why I haven't given Logan my number.
Four days ago, I caught you with a pretty blonde girl
And the jealously hit me like a government issue SUV.
Then I caught your friend with the same girl,
And the embarrassment was more like a Mack truck.
Three days ago you showed up at my apartment unannounced
And you bribed your way inside with a live fowl.
I made orange and cashew chicken
I surprised myself when I realised I wanted you to stay.
Two days ago I found myself waking up from the cold.
And somehow I couldn't bring myself to yell at you.
Not when you were looking so vulnerable.
So I made us breakfast instead.
