Innocent seeming, darkness of being

A poem inspired by...something. I would appreciate any and all feedback so please review if you read this. It's all that I ask, really. This poem was previously published on it's own, however I'm going to be grouping my poems from now on by the characters or themes mentioned in the poem. So, expect to see more Bakura/Ryou poems in this collection.

Sincerely,
Singer, La Chanteuse

Innocent seeming, darkness of being

Innocent eyes look out on the world

And innocence they do see

But innocent eyes

Are just a disguise

And not reality

Darkness lurks beneath the guise

Of one who looks young,

Innocent seeming

Hides darkness of being

From which you now must run.

Darkness that one must hide from the world

For as evil it would be seen

Innocence perceived

And lies they believed

Who knows what might have been?

If darkness could walk free in the light

And could, as innocence, be known

No more confusion

No more delusion

Then the world we would own.

But Darkness is feared and cannot be known

By most peoples of this race

So we'll keep our guise

Of our innocent eyes

Until we find our time, our place.
