------Chapter 2------

Suddenly the man at the door gave out a low, guttural scream; as if he had seen a ghost, little did he know that he had seen a ghost. He ran down the front path got into his car and drove dangerously fast away. Miranda slowly shut the door, uncertain as to how to proceed. She slowly walked into the kitchen, "One foot in front of another", she told herself; picked up the phone and dialled the only number she could think of: 01626 332498, her mum, Sandra, but she wasn't at home; starting to panic she wandered out of the patio door and out into the garden, barely noticing that the cat had screeched at ran away from her, as if he was afraid of her.

"Brring, Brring", rang the telephone, "oh, well, better see who this is"........

The man on the other end of the telephone was her boss, Rhys Griffiths, ringing to find out how she was; concerned because she had run out of work 1 hour early. The Daily News had a very good Employer to Employee relationship, but this was different, normally when Rhys rings up they have a long, in-depth conversation about work and life in general, but today it was as if Miranda couldn't get off the telephone fast enough, when she had finally got rid of Rhys she went into the Living Room and sat on the sofa thinking about what had happened, and what on earth she could do next.
