Chapter 2

Usagi sat munching happily on her birthday cake Makoto had made for her. Everyone of her friends were there. "Mmmm! Mako this delicious!" She said giggling she always loved when Makoto cooked. No matter what it was it was always delicious, and there was always plenty for thirds. Which for Usagi was a plus.

"Well it is your big 18. i'm just glad everyone's here." She gasped and slapped her hand over her mouth as Usagi's mood darkened. "Oh Usagi! I'm so sorry! I didnt mean it!" She had forgotten about Usagi's ex.

Just as fast as her mood had darkened did it brighten. " I'ts fine Mako. I'm 18 its time to let it go. Mamoru moved on. So should I. I mean the future isn't set in stone. It never was." She smiled brightly though it didnt quite reach her eyes.

Haruka and Michiru had been watching their princess' faceand knew damn well she was hurting.

Serena stood and rinsed her dish checking her phone's screen. "Crap. Iv'e gotta run home for my pajamas. I'll be back ok?" She says grabbing her jacket and hugging her friends while heading towards the door.

"Serena hold on, I'll take you home." Haruka called to her as she grabbed her keys and phone while Michiru all but pushed her out.

"Oh thank you Haruka." Serena said as haruka held the door for her.

"No problem. Can't let asweet little kitten walk around all alone at night now can I?" Haruka responded nonchalantly holding open the car door for Serena. "Milady." She said with a bow

Serena laughed and blushed getting in."Thanks."

Haruka pulled up to Serena's house and walked upto the door with her. Serena knocked on the door and looked up to Haruka and blushes a bit. "I left my key. Sorry."

Haruka smiled and tousled Serena's hair. "It's ok Kitten. I can break a window if you'd like." She chuckled.

Serena stared for a moment trying to decide if Haruka was just teasing. Her thoughts were cut short by the front door swinging open to reveal her mom."Oh hey mom. Umm I just forgot some stuff and Haruka offered to bring me." She smiled up to her mom.

"Oh Serena honey thats fine." Mrs. Tsukino smiled to her daughter and looked to Haruka seriously. "I trust you are taking good care of her young man."

Serena's eyes popped open wide as Haruka bowed deeply taking Mrs. Tsukino's hand and looking into her eyes. "Yes ma'am. I would lay my life down for Serena. Please pardon my intrusion."

As Serena's mom blushed quite furiously, Serena dragged Haruka in and up to her room before Haruka coulld charm anyone else in her family. "Seriously Haruka? My mom?" She said exasperatedly closing the door and slumping into the wooden frame.

"Sorry Kitten. I wasn't trying to." Haruke apologized earnestly. She stepped towards Serena when She got no reply. "Princess?"

"haruka?. How long can a heart ache before it heals?"Serena finally spoke up sadly.

Haruka could hear the tears in Serena's voice as she pulled her Princess into her arms. "Forever if yuh let it eat at you." She answered honestly earning a soft sniffle and a glare from the smaller girl. "Ok Ok, come on Kitten." She pulled Serena gentl to her bad and sat her down."Let's see here, He's a dumbass. and it is entirely his loss. You're better than this. You'll find someone who loves you. And not just for your tiara Princess."

Serena sniffled once more and looked up at Haruka with watery hopeful eyes, "really Haruka?"

Haruka smiled and plated a soft kiss on Serena's forehead. "Of course, What's not to love?"

Serena blushed softly and laid her head on Harukas chest crying herself out. soon she was out like a light with Haruka still holding her. "Please let your heart mend Princess."
