Thanks for the reviews Y'all! Wow, if I'm not careful about making longer chapters, this might actually turn into a story ;) especially because I'm gonna do more than the heart events. Nah, ya know what, screw it. I'm gonna make this into a story if I feel like it and delete the 3-shot part from the summary ;) (Lazy me!)

Okay, thanks to: I'll Break Your Heart, umbreonix, and to CrimsonCrush. I love reading reviews! ^^

umbreonix: Yeah, I told you this already, but I'll be doing something like this for all the bachelors, not just Allen. I also have this plot bunny stuck in my head…

Oh yeah, also: DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN HARVEST MOON

Okay, on with the show!

They arrived at Clement's is about five minutes, and Allen had to admire Aelan's workmanship, even if he didn't say it out loud. She had really outdone herself with the restaurant, working hard through the day and on into the night. Some days, she even had to ask Rod, Neil, and Emma to take care of her crops and animals because she just kept on building.

And then, after the building, there was the painting. Aelan was a surprisingly good artist, and seemed specially gifted with paint. Clement's shop looked lively and happy, and it followed the blueprints to the T. In fact, the house was probably more than Clement had asked for!

Allen's smirk turned into a small smile as he remembered the time he'd found Aelan asleep on the floor of the unfinished house. After that, he'd caught her sleeping there several times, but those times, the house had been fully built, it just needed to be painted. This time, however, she'd fallen asleep on some planks of wood that were presumably going to be the roof.

It appeared she'd 'learned her lesson' since then, never falling asleep anywhere but her farmhouse until the actual building was done and all that remained was painting. He shook himself out of his reverie when Aelan ran up to him. She was panting, having run fast to keep up with Allen's long strides and huge lead.

In a race, she might beat him if she worked really hard, but with his kind of headstart, she had no chance. He chuckled.

"Finally caught up with me, huh?" he said, but before she could glare at him and get all offended, he smirked and said, "Come on, no use wasting breath talking out here."

Aelan blinked before reluctantly walking behind him into the restaurant. He noted her reluctance and briefly wondered why, before shrugging and going to sit in a booth. He gestured for her to take the chair across from him, and the pretty waitress Felicity came to take their order.

Allen shrugged and ordered tea and chocolate cake. When asked what she wanted, Aelan ordered the cheapest thing on the menu. Allen caught what she was trying to do, however, and chuckled. "Hey, what's up? It's my treat, so you don't have to hold back! Come on, eat!"

Aelan looked at him with wide eyes, before nodding slowly. "Thanks," she muttered, before calling Felicity to change her order. After she left, Allen smirked and tilted his head. "I invited you here, there's no need to thank me," he said with a shrug.

Aelan looked at him before cracking a smile as Allen went on. "Having a woman pay for anything, whether it be food, drink, clothes…it goes against everything I stand for as a man."

Aelan's smile grew slightly wider, before it disappeared and she looked away, off into the distance. Allen blinked in surprise. Was she…crying? Aelan turned away for a second and he heard a slight cough before she turned around. He furrowed his brow. What was that about? he wondered.

He shrugged it off and looked up as she said, "That's very kind of you." Allen blinked in surprise.

"You think that makes me kind?" he shrugged. "Well, it's nice of you to say, but I'm just doing what anyone else would do," he said with a smirk that contradicted his words and seemed to say, 'Yeah, what you said is true and I know it'.

Aelan's eyes widened further and she looked away yet again, but this time slight anger mixed with the tears in her eyes. However, the moment was gone as soon as it came and she looked back, slowly taking a bite of her cheesecake. She blinked, then smiled.

"Damn, am I glad I built this restaurant," she chuckled. Her sudden joke caught Allen off guard and he blinked, before chuckling with her. He shook his head as they finished their meal.

Allen smirked as they got up. "Phew, that was good," he said. "Anyway, that's it. We part ways here." He paused before looking a bit past her as he said, "Well, it was fun if nothing else…Seems like you had a good time too. I'll invite you out again sometime. Look forward to it!"

Aelan looked after him as he walked out. She left a few moments later, pondering. Well, I'll be damned if he isn't a cocky bastard, but somehow…I find that…I enjoy his company? Why?

Fin. 2

It was a warm spring day, one of the warmer they'd had lately in Echo Village. Although, really, it shouldn't be called that anymore, because Aelan had done a marvelous job restoring the town, and was now on the fourth plan Dunhill had given her. Allen sighed as he realized that he had nothing much to do. After the spring rains when he'd been busy fixing people's hair and trying to tame frizz, he'd given them all products that should last another two weeks. He sighed as he checked his watch. 12:32, around lunchtime…He ignored the fact that his mind immediately jumped to Aelan.

He hadn't seen her for ages, and he was sure she probably didn't like him too much to begin with anyway. He closed his eyes, a huff coming out of his mouth.

'Come on Allen, pull your act together! If you DON'T WANT HER TO HATE YOU THEN JUST MAN UP AND GO OVER!' His mind screamed at him. He groaned as he closed his eyes, before speedwalking out of his door and running to her farm before he could change his mind.

Aelan sighed. She really didn't have much to do. Now that two of her cows were pregnant, and there were only two more, she didn't have much to do. Watering the crops didn't even take an hour thanks to the geyser in her East Farm, and she'd decided to keep all her crops there. Her West Farm was where she kept her animals, however, due to the fact that alpacas, sheep, and llamas didn't need to be sheared every day, on the days when she didn't have to, her animals only took about an hour and a half out of her day at most.

Sometimes, Neil came to check up on the two pregnant cows, and while he was there he helped her with the animals, so on those days it took even less time. She found herself growing to like the cold man, and she knew he just needed a friend. However, she would only ever think of him as a friend, that she knew, and she knew he did too. There would never be anything more than friendship between them.

So, because her farming tasks took so little time, she often went foraging. However, she was beginning to find she had a surplus of products, and even though she needed money for the Town Restoration Plans, that was about the only thing she ever used it for. As such, she found herself becoming more successful by the day, growing richer and richer.

She sighed. There was nothing to do anymore. If she was being truthful, the one thing that had brought her interest was talking to Allen. He wasn't like the other townspeople, he was…different. But ever since spring rolled around, he'd been very busy styling peoples' hair. She sighed. Darn…what is there to do now…she wondered.

At that moment, a knock was heard on the door. "Aelan, you're here, right? I'm coming in."

Aelan's eyes widened. She'd heard the phrase 'speak of the Devil' before, but never in such a literal sense. Allen's frame walked through the door to find her lying on the floor, scrambling to get up. A choking sound could be heard as Allen tried to cover his laughter with a few coughs, his fist in his mouth. Aelan scowled.

"You idiot!" she exclaimed. "Don't just walk into my house! I could've been changing for all you knew!"

Allen chuckled. "And what makes you think I'd mind that?" he asked bemusedly, watching her face turn from light pink because of the heat to a bright, tomato red. "A-Allen!" she exclaimed, covering her blushing face with her hands.

Allen laughed outright now. "Come on princess, lighten up! I was only joking ya know!" he said, finally holding out a hand to pull her up which she accepted. Her head was at an almost 90 degree angle because of their height difference, her at a pitiful 5'3" and him being almost 6'.

She sighed. "What do you want Allen?" she asked. He gave her his classic smirk as he said, "Well, if you've got some time then come out with me again. I'll make some time for you. Come on, let's go."

Allen bit his lip. This would tell him whether she was mad or not…Aelan ran her fingers through her hair. "Yeah, alright," she said. "To tell you the truth, I've been pretty bored lately, what with crop watering becoming so easy and Neil helping me out sometimes. Let's do it," she said, not noticing Allen tense up at the mention of Neil.

Darn, should've known she'd find someone else, Allen thought, cursing himself for not doing this sooner. He sighed when they got to the river and sat down on a log, with Aelan sitting next to him. He felt like he had to say something, anything, at least for the sake of conversation. So he simplybstarted saying whatever came into his head first.

"Wow, that breeze sure does feel good!" he said. "I've been worked to the bone recently thinking of new hairstyles! I do prefer being busy, but it's also nice to take a break sometimes!"

Aelan nodded. "That's true…Hey Allen?"

"Hmm?"

"Why did you become a stylist?"

"You want to know why I became a stylist? Let me see... if you ask me as cutely as you can, I might tell you!"

Aelan spluttered. "W-what?!" she asked him, her face going a bit darker in hue. Allen's eyes twinkled as he said, "You heard me. Ask me as cutely as you can, and maybe I'll tell you."

Aelan frowned, but then sighed. She looked up, fluttering her eyelashes. "Do you promise to tell me?"

Allen's eyes widened, she was pretty damn cute already! He nodded, and that seemed to be good enough for Aelan, because she gave him a small smile and said, "I'll give it a shot."

She then proceeded to get off the log and kneel down in front of him, clasping her hands together and giving him her best puppy dog face. "Allen?" she asked sweetly. "Will you please tell me how you became a stylist?"

Allen blinked. If he was being honest with himself, it was one of the cutest things he'd seen in his whole life, besides the puppy Rod gave him for his 22nd birthday. However, he decided to mess with her a little more, so, with his signature smirk he said, "Hmm... not quite there yet. Again. A little cuter."

Aelan's mouth opened for a second, before flushing as she rested her chin on his knee, fluttering her eyelashes, and said, "Pretty please?"

Allen coughed lightly to hide his surprise. He wished he had a camera. She was definitely cuter than the puppy now. However, he decided to try one more time. "You're almost there."

By now Aelan was blushing like mad, only adding to the act as she finally got up and laid down on the log. "Please, with a cherry on top?" she asked while pouting, her head on Allen's lap.

He'd had it, he couldn't take it anymore. He didn't care about messing with her at all, he actually wanted to tell her, of his own volition. So he said, "That's not bad, coming from you, Aelan. Pretty good overall, actually. I'll tell you everything."

He sighed as he started off. "My mother and sister both had really long hair, but didn't know what to do with it. So I started helping them out. As my skills increased other women in the neighborhood started to ask me to style their hair, too. Keeping them happy spread word of my talents further, and more and more women started to come for my help. That led to me opening my salon, and here we are."

He didn't realize it, but as he spoke, his eyes got more and more alive, his smirk turning into a genuine smile as he continued on, with Aelan watching him in awe, "I almost scare myself, having reached such a level of proficiency without being taught by anyone at all! Hairstyle, clothing, and makeup... your appearance has a far bigger impact on others than maybe you'd like to think. A stylist has the power to completely change the impression someone gives. It's quite a thrilling profession!"

Aelan smiled softly. Wow, he really does love being a stylist, doesn't he? she thought, smiling.

Allen smirked, his eyes widening. "Wow, look at all the info you plugged me for. I don't normally talk that much."

Aelan shrugged. "I like hearing about it," she said softly.

Allen nodded. "You enjoyed my back story? That's great, Aelan. Thank you. I'd better be getting back to the present, anyway! See you, Aelan. Let's talk again soon." He smiled, and was about to get up, when he realized her head was still on his lap. She continued looking at him, smiling softly, before realizing why he hadn't left yet.

Her eyes widened as she leapt off the log, her face burning. "B-bye Allen, Nice t-talking t-t-to you!" With that she fled, her face still a tomato color. Allen chuckled, before standing up and stretching. That Aelan really is something, isn't she…he thought, walking calmly away towards his house.

A/N: HAHAHA, okay, this will probably turn into more than a 3-shot, just lettin' y'all know ;)
