After the cameras went off, Dean marched to the back of the arena, his body stiff and ridged with rage. He was angry at Randy for striking Roman and Seth over and over again. They were defenseless but the son of a bitch kept hitting them. When he finally made it to the Authority locker room, he yanked the door open and slammed it hard behind him and started to kick and throw whatever was in his path.

Hunter was equally upset as he entered the Authority locker room and slammed the door behind him. Dean spun around to face Hunter, he stalked up to Hunter and got in his personal space. Hunter was not so easily intimidated and did not back down from Dean's advancement. They stood inches apart glaring at each other. "What the hell was that Dean?", Hunter snarled.

Dean ignored his question and growled back, "Why did you let your crony continue to beat the hell out of them, when it was obvious to everyone they had nothing left."

"Well at least someone can follow orders around here, unlike you.", Hunter said as he jabbed his finger into Dean's chest. "You were suppose to leave it to Randy to finish them off. There is a reason behind everything that I do and you nearly ruined it because of your pathetic attachment to two men who would have easily traded places with you to get the opportunity I am giving you.", Hunter shouted into Dean's face.

Dean gritted his teeth and balled his hands into fist at his sides trying not go give into his need to punch Hunter in the face, but how could he really hit him, he made the decision to join Hunter. He knew clearly what Hunter had intended to do, he just didn't expected it to be so hard to follow through. Dean did not trust many people but he had trusted Seth and Roman only to be disappointed, however he couldn't just switch is feelings off he still cared what happened to them. "You don't have to keep reminding me. I know that but it doesn't explain why you felt the need to beat them to a pulp. When they were nearly unconscious and could not defend themselves.", Dean said angrily his voice laced with remorse.

"Dean you are a smart guy it is one of the reasons I chose you but you need to start thinking with your head and not your heart. You know damn well why I did what I did. It wasn't just to jump start your singles career. You know why I did it. Tell me Dean, why did I do it?", Hunter demanded an answer, he was determined to stop Dean from being so damn relent about the whole situation and make him a active participant.

Dean looked away from Hunter, he knew why but he hated to admit that it was a clever move on Hunter's part.

Hunter grabbed Dean by the chin and made Dean look at him. "Tell me Dean.", Hunter asked firmly but patiently.

"To prove a everyone that if they cross you, there will be a price to pay.", Dean said in his raspy voice.

"That's right", Hunter said with a smug grin on his face. "You think I made it this far by being a goody-to-shoes, no Dean I got here with hard work and keeping myself focused on my objective. And yes there were things I had to do that I didn't want to do but I did them because if I hadn't there would be someone else standing in my place right now. Just like there will be someone else standing in your place right now if you don't start listening to what I am telling you. I have 20 years of experience in this business, I know what the fuck I am doing."

Dean yanked his chin out of Hunter's grasp. "I am the one taking all of the risk here Hunter. Not only have I turned Seth and Roman against me and some of the other superstars but entire WWE Universe will be reeling from this. I will undoubtedly have to watch my back from now on against Seth and Roman but you as well."

"Oh is that what you think, I am being watched by my father-in-law, Vince fucken McMahon and believe me he would love to tell me how wrong I am for taking this chance on you. So if you crash and burn what do you think will happened to me?"

Dean had not thought about that, he just assumed Hunter had all the control, but he had someone to answer to if he didn't keep the WWE on top. "You will be fired?", Dean whispered.

"Not only fired but a laughing stock for being stupid enough to give you this chance. I went from one fucken bully of a father to another, but I won't let that bastard beat me, you see Dean, you are not the only one with something to lose here." For some reason this made Dean feel better knowing that Hunter had as much vested into this as he did.

"You will become the future of the WWE but you will be the heel not the face. We already have enough of those, we have Daniel Bryan, John Cena, not to mention your buddies Roman and Seth. I have enough superstars with character and strength to carry that side, I don't need another face, I need a heel. But not just any heel, someone who is clever in and out of the ring. Someone who draws the fans and will make things interesting around here and keep the fans coming back for more. We are entertainers first, this is not just about wrestling, we have to entertain the crowds that come to our shows or they won't comeback and we won't exist. There are going to be things, you are going to have to do that you don't like, if you are going to take this company into the next decade. Just like I did and I like every other superstar that has made their mark on this business. If you are not up to this then you tell me now because I am not going to stand around here wasting my time and butting heads with you every time something comes around that you don't like. I will NOT let you drag me down with you." Hunter paused and calming his nerves before he continue in a softer tone. "I have faith in you Dean, you are not the loser your parents led you to think. I believe in you Dean, but you have to start believing in me."

Dean stood there in silence looking at Hunter contemplating what he had told him, letting his words sink in. If he wanted a future in the WWE it would be as the heel and to be honest he really didn't have a problem being the bad guy. Hunter was right they were entertains first, a lot of what he remembered about wrestling as a kid was not just the wrestling moves the superstars did but their attitude and some of the outrageous things they did outside of the ring. Roman and Seth understood that which is why Roman had accepted Hunter's offer and why they talk about the Shield coming to an end without his knowledge because he took it all to heart. He finally understood the Shield would not have lasted forever, eventually they would have went in different directions, but he had sped this up by taking Hunter's offer. Dean released a deep sigh, he could feel his anger also leaving his body.

Hunter could see that he had calmed down as Dean walked over to the bench in the locker room and sat down. Hunter followed him and stood in front of Dean placing his right hand on Dean's left shoulder and squeezed him lightly. Dean looked up at him with an exhausted expression.

"So now what?", Dean asked.

"We go to the hotel and sleep, we rest. We did a lot today and tomorrow we will do a lot more, but for now we rest.", Hunter replied.

"Where am I to stay Hunter? I can't go with Seth and Roman."

"You will be sharing a room with Randy."

Oh great Dean thought as he rolled his eyes.

Hunter didn't miss Dean's less than enthusiastic response. "He is the present and you are the future of the WWE. You can learn a lot from him.", Hunter said as he released Dean's shoulder and turn to exit the locker room but not before looking back at Dean. "Well come on."

"Ok", Dean grumbled as he got up from the bench and headed toward Hunter. Hunter put his arm around Dean's shoulder as they left the locker room.
