Sleepover

Amy awoke in the middle of the night, feeling much better compared to when she had laid down. Her ears had finally stopped buzzing, her headache had lessened considerably, and, best of all, she no longer had the strong urge to vomit her guts out. In fact, she was actually rather hungry now.

Sitting up, the pink hedgehog stretched her arms over her head, her joints making a sastisfying crackling pop. With a contented sigh, she then let her body relax, her half-lidded eyes drifting to the muted television. She was immediately jolted fully awake.

Silver was asleep on her bedroom floor.

Shocked by the sight of him, for a moment Amy could only blink dumbly at the grey furred hedgehog. Having removed his shoes, socks, and gloves, he was curled up using his hooded sweatshirt as a pillow. Above his head was an open pizza box and, though the glow from the television screen was dim, Amy could see plenty of crumbs littering her normally spotless carpet. She felt a tinge of annoyance at this.

Her brow now slightly furrowed, she returned her gaze to Silver. She recalled how worried the boy had been after their little teleportation incident yesterday. He had even sat beside her and rubbed her back until she fell asleep. Was he so concerned about her health that he decided to stay the night? The thought made her expression soften. She didn't know Silver very well and wouldn't have thought bad of him if he had left after bringing her home, yet he had stayed. It was both odd and charming.

A smile played at the corner of Amy's lips. Perhaps she could forgive him for the mess of crumbs on the floor. He had saved her some pizza, after all.
