Writing Exercise 2
Prompt: Begin a story with "There was once a chance I didn't take..."
There was once a chance I didn't take...
It was with a girl named Sarah, beautiful and talented, most likely to succeed, yadda yadda...
She had just broken up with a boy, and decided to confide in me about it. Told me that boys were scum and why they shouldn't be trusted. Felt kinda uncomfortable, but I gotta be there for her.
Maybe if I had asked her out then, she would've said yes. Shown her a different perspective, shown her a way to happiness that didn't involve such sucky standards and expectations.
I chose against it, of course, why would I be writing about this otherwise?
Well, at the time I had thought of rejection and not being able to be near her anymore. Thought being friends was good enough for me, you know?
Oh well, now that I think back about it, I don't think she'd ever date another girl.
