"A shattered world that's like an endless nightmare. An endless nightmare that's like a shattered world. But with hope we can end the nightmare. We can mend the pieces, and make the world anew.''
Chapter 1: The First of the Six
The wind howled and blew ferociously, as large waves crashed against a lone cliff. Low rumbles of thunder echoed through the dark grey skies. The cliff to stood along a vast sea in the world known simply as the World of Harmony. The cliff was just and extension as it led to a dismal cave. Suddenly out of nowhere, in a flash of green light, a creature of some kind appeared as if magically and stood at just a few feet from the edge. The creature was truly an enigma. It was shrouded in a dark, flowing cloak with the hood over its head and concealing its face. The only features that could be made out was that it stood on four legs and had hoofed feet, and had a dark cerulean, wisp like tail, like a horse of some kind.
The figure, the animal had a raven black coat with grotesque looking holes over its legs and tail. The creature also seemed to have a slender body, but the features gave if a distorted, twisted feeling about it. There it stood, tall, still, and patient staring at the cave as another large wave crashed into the cliff, causing water to spray gently over the enigmatic being. The equine like creature gave off a chilling low laugh and spoke.
"So this is where the first of the six is hmmm?'' it said.
The voice seemed to be a females. However, the voice was also unnaturally distorted and had an echo like quality to it, as if a second voice was also speaking, yet at the same time being oddly seductive. The creature started to trot casually towards the cave as another splash of wave sprayed the air.
Soon, the creature entered the mouth of the cave fearlessly, almost instantly enveloped by darkness. It wasn't long before the sounds of the wind blowing and the waves crashing outside died off, leaving now sound, except the soft clopping of her her hooves along the cave floor. The darkness inside the cave seemed to be denser than any regular darkness, but still the creature continued on.
The figure raised a hoof toward her head and slightly pulled back the hood covering her head, to reveal a black, twisted horn. The tip of the horn then, began to glow a greenish light as it helped her to see into the dense darkness.
"Hmm certainly a place this so deliciously dark must be hiding something,'' she laughed softly, almost mockingly as she continued to journey into the mysterious cave.
She had been walking for quite some time, scaling down crevices to her destination. Finally at what seemed like hours, she finally arrived at stone wall. However, this wall seemed to be different than the normal walls in the cave. Etched on the wall, was a carving of a large tree, the trunk's base started from the bottom of the wall and went up, high onto the wall. The tree had countless of branches the formed swirls. Also on the wall, mysterious symbols were embedded along the wall just as the branches were, giving off an ancient appearance to them.
"Finally!'' the female creature said softly, but happily, her voice giving an eerie echo. "At last, I have finally come to the resting place of the first of the six!''
She took a hoof and pulled back her hood to reveal her face. It was none other than Queen Chrysalis, the evil villainess that tried to destroy Princess Celestia, the Elements of Harmony, and Take over all of Equestia. She was an adult mare. Like the rest of her body, her coat was raven black and like her tail, her mane was long with a teal color and it ran down almost wildly, save for a long bang that ran down over her face. She had dark blue green eyes with elongated oval pupils and on her head was a small, black crown tipped with blue orbs. What separated Chrysalis form other mares was that she has a sharp pair of fangs that look like they could easily tear into flesh. Yes Chrysalis was gangly creature of sorts.
"Now let's see,'' Chrysalis said calm, examining the tree carefully. "It appears to resemble the Tree of Life,'' Chrysalis concluded, but than began to laugh darkly. "Life...HA when my plan comes to fruition, ''Life" will be irrelevant.''
Chrysalis ran her distorted hoof along the tree, in deep thought. "Now, how did that spell go again?'' Chrysalis pondered, the wicked grin came across her face.
"Ah, yes I remember.'' She dropped her hoof and took a step back, and in moments the tip of her horn started to glow an emerald green. "Reveal...your secrets!''
Chrysalis commanded and she gently pressed the tip of her horn between a crack on the wall. Almost instantly, the green light ran quickly along the lines of the tree. Up, down, left, right, around, and loop-de-loop until finally, the entire lining of the tree glowed with a wickedly greenish color. Chrysalis smiled malevolently as a low rumble began. The entire wall was beginning to shift, the branches beginning to reshape and slither downward as streaks of rocks an dirt's flowed down from above.
Finally, the branches had retreated back in the trunk and the wall began to part, shaking the ground, but Chrysalis just stood there, a wicked grin on her face as secret, arched passageway appeared. Chrysalis trotted onward, deeper in to the cave.
"I am almost there, I can feel it...I can taste it,'' Chrysalis slurred, grossly licking her lips with her tongue as she continued.
Not long, she came into a large cavern. It was cold, damp, and dismal, but that didn't matter to Chrysalis. She'd gladly live there. Pointed rock formations came up from the ground and down from the ceiling. However, the pathway before her was neat and cobbled, as if somebody had made them themselves. With her fangs showing from the wide, deranged smile she had, Chrysalis walked along the path into the cavern.
Along the ground, walls, sealing, a low, eerie red light shone between the cracks and making the cavern a truly unearthly place. After walking the path deeper into the cavern, Chrysalis finally came a large, gem pillar the seemed to go up at least twenty feet. With excitement, Chrysalis climbed the stone stairs up and up until finally, she came to the top and walked along the round surface. In the middle of the pillar was a small, stone slab of rock with unearthly symbols and inscriptions running along the sides.
"Finally, I've arrived!'' Chrysalis cackled. "And now, for the finally step.''
Chrysalis raise her front leg to her mouth, opened it and bit down hard onto her flesh. Immediately, dark blood ran between her teeth and leg and dropped down onto the face of the slab. After about five drops of blood, Chrysalis dropped her leg back on the floor, unfazed by the self-infliction.
"The blood of the one who so dare beckons the first,'' Chrysalis explained, a trickle of blood running down her mouth.
She opened her mouth again and let out a mysterious incantation. Chrysalis repeated again and again, getting louder with each repeat. The cavern began to shake. A few rocks fell from the ceiling and crashed onto the ground in millions of pieces. With one final shout of Chrysalis's incantation, the pillar began to rumble fiercely. Outside, the winds blew harder and the waves crashed bigger as a loud boom of thunder cracked the skies. At last the rumbling stooped, all was still...quiet until the surface of the slab opened in the center.
Another slab of rock rose up to fill it, with a gem laying on top of it. The gem was polished and was blood red with a smooth texture as well as in the shape of an oval. The gem was about the same size as a medium sized stone that could fit in one's hand and gave off a crimson glow.
Chrysalis laughed gleefully, darkly, evilly. "At last...the first of the six...I found it!'' Chrysalis cackled triumphantly.
Wither her magic, she levitated the gem with her horn and brought it to her face.
"Finally after months of searching and research, I have finally found the first of the Cosmic Gems!''
The gem glowed in her eyes, causing a red reflection to appear on them. A pair of tattered, insectoid wings ripped through the cloak and began to beat, lifting her high into the air.
''And when I have found the other five gems...then ultimate power with be mine. Power that NO PONY...not even Celestia and her precious Elements of Harmony could ever possibly defeat. And when those fools falls by the awesome power of my might, dark shall reign forever as I take my place as supreme ruler of Equestria!''
Chrysalis gave off a spine-tingling evil laugh the gem glowed even more brilliantly. Chrysalis laughed as the gem unexpectedly fired a large, red lighntingbolt to the ceiling. The strike rebounded off the ceiling and back to the gem and caused a crimson-red wave of energy to quickly expand throughout the cavern. So much destruction...and with a final crack of thunder and a flash of red lightning. Far away deep in the forgotten part of the sands of time, red eyes opened and glowed briefly and Celestia awoke with a jolt, far away in her castle in Canterlot.
Celestia was sweating, panting like she just awoke from a bad dream.
"Again with these dreams. These nightmares...these visions, what do they mean?!'' Celestial said forcibly as she got out of large bed and walked toward the window and onto the balcony.
There was a cool breeze as Celestia overlooked her kingdom. The kingdom slept peacefully, but Celestia head was filled with a whirlwind of thoughts, Chrysalis' evil laughter echoing in her head.
"That laugh, those eyes, and this...feeling I sense.'' Celestia look onto her kingdom, a look of worry on her face.
"I sense something wicked is going to befall on my beloved kingdom,'' Celestia confessed sadly.
