It was a cold night. Quiet too. It seemed that the city of Monopole was sleeping. For once. Hell, traffic was nonexistent! The skyscrapers that were usually always lit up were now dark. All the blinds to every window were shut. It seemed that nobody wanted to be outside in the big city...
An abandoned warehouse sat just on the outskirts of Monopole. The sight was used to store furniture at one point. Now it was empty. The ceiling leaked every time it rained. And the wind outside seemed to always shake the walls. But beneath this warehouse was a hideout. The hideout of the Babylon Rogues. Yes, they had set up shop in the basement of the abandoned warehouse. It was awfully nice too. Great lighting, TV, a little lounge area, and of course, beds. All of this was thanks to Wave's handy work. She knew how to build. That's for sure...
Our familiar emerald colored hawk sat on his bed. Busy scrolling through his phone. Not a care in the world. Footsteps that approached him made him look up. That's when he saw the purple swallow. Wave. She had on a tied up T-Shirt and some comfy looking joggers. The outfit was topped off with some sporty shoes and her usual white bandanna.
"You. I need to talk to you."
Jet rolled his eyes and sighed. Great. Now what?
"What. What is it?" He looked up from his phone.
Wave huffed and yanked him away by his hand. Jet yelped in surprised as he was dragged away to the TV.
So that's why she wanted to talk. Looks like a jewelry store was robbed today in Monopole. Surveillance footage clearly showed that it was Jet.
"So?"
"So?! I thought you said you were done with crime, Jet!!" The swallow got in his face and yelled at him. Stupid idiot. That's what she thought of Jet. Always one to break a promise...
"I was drunk, Wave!! You should know better than to take me seriously when I'm drinking!-"
"You shouldn't even BE drinking! You're 18 Jet!"
"Oh who fucking cares? Honestly! Age doesn't mean a damn thing! I said a stupid thing while I was drunk. Like I'd ever actually give up the life of crime."
Wave growled and grabbed the hawk by his head feathers.
"Listen up you stupid turkey, I'm tired of you acting like a complete asshat. You do NOTHING but make us look like complete idiots! Constantly! Now is that what a leader should do? NO!! Keep your promise, idiot! I'm tired of you breaking them!"
"Get! Off!!" Jet pulled away from her and growled at her now. "I AM NOT A TURKEY!! Let me get that straight for you, Miss always-up-my-ass!! Maybe I should clarify myself, ANYTHING THAT I DO OR SAY WHILE I'M DRUNK IS ME BEING STUPID! I don't mean any of it! There! And stop telling ME how to lead! God!" Jet huffed and began to walk back towards his bed.
A silence fell over the room suddenly.
"...So those nights between me and you didn't mean anything because you were drinking?" Wave looked at the floor and shook her head.
Jet stopped and immediately turned around. "I...I didn't mean it like that..." Jet and Wave occasionally fooled around with each other. It always seemed to happen when Jet would drink. It was kinda like a friends with benefits.
"Yeah you did. Don't lie, Jet. Thanks. Now I feel real great. You used me..." Wave ran off to her secluded area.
Jet watched her go and sighed. Fuck. What a shitshow.
Storm came in and burped loudly.
"Hi boss. What uh. Why did Wave run off?"
"No reason, Storm. Just. Go to bed. It's late..."
"Oh...okay boss. Will do..."
The albatross yawned and headed off to his big bed. Jet still stood in the same place. Upset with himself yet again. He looked over at the TV and then where Wave had ran off to.
"Alright. I'll keep a promise. This time..."
Jet walked off to his bedroom. To sleep. Tomorrow was another day.

Yes. It's a short chapter that doesn't explain much of the plot. Chapter 2 will definitely go into detail about that. Anyways, hope y'all enjoyed it.
