A/N – Alright so it took more than a year but I have finally come up with an ending for this story. I like it and I hope you do. Oh and since I haven't really commented on this yet. James Spader as Ultron, nice :).
For those who read the Daddy's Angel universe I will be hopefully uploading a new chapter to Many Milestones before the weekend. Fingers crossed.
Lots Of Love,

"Hello Darcy," Bruce breathed as someone slipped into the seat across from him. The woman in question just smiled as she took the coffee out of Bruce's grasp and took a sip. She then scrunched her face up at the beverage and set it back on the table.
"Tony is mumbling about time bombs and you got yourself crappy coffee, gonna tell me what's up?" She asked leaning her chest against the table to meet his eyes. He turned away in a second. The person of Darcy Lewis perplexed the scientist; she was a female Tony who studied politics rather than engineering. She was snarky and beautiful, intelligent and more dangerous than Tony Stark could ever hope to be, at least in the scientists mind. Tony was physically dangerous to most people; he was Ironman for crying out loud. But with the 'other guy' around very little made Bruce feel in physical danger. Darcy however was more psychological.
She also reminded Bruce too much of Betty. Even if her hair was a lighter color, her eyes a darker blue, but the most striking resemblance was there fact they were able to make him feel completely at ease. Having controlled the 'other guy' by always being angry the ease he felt around the two women made him feel uneasy every time he thought about it. Because Betty knew him too well before the transformation to ever have enough fear of him to keep herself safe by running away and staying away, and because though everyone at Avenger tower loved her Darcy was not as protected as the other woman. There was no demi-god, metal suited man, or master assassin with special 'romantic' interest in her safety. When it came down to it if the women were in trouble Darcy would be left at the hands of Cap. Who was perfectly able to keep her safe, but Bruce often wondered if he would. Keep Darcy safe rather than try and talk Bruce down.
"Nothing to worry over Darcy," He tried to brush her off.
"When fluffy scientists drink something other than Herb Tea with one sugar and one cream it is enough to make any secretary worried." He let out a smile at that.
"Is this about the serum you have in your right front pocket,"
"How do you?"
"I have learned more from Barton than how to navigate air vents you know." She said with a smile, he hid his grin this time. He remembered when Darcy first learned how to move in the air vents. He had almost lost control then; he twisted to see her dangling from a partially open vent in the hall with a goofy grin on her face after she had fallen though. Her scream had made him jump feet into the air as he looked for distress. Her scream was another thing that reminded him of Betty.
"Doc, you do know Tony was just being Tony right. It is your decision." She said her hand slipping to grab his wrist.
"A year ago I would have made the decision in a heartbeat. I spent years attempting to figure this out. I would have administered it after one test."
"That was before the team,"
"It was,"
"The team won't abandon you ya know, if you decide to shoot yourself up. They still will need you. If that is what you're worried about. I mean who else would help Jane explain all the science talk that goes on in the tower. Who would teach Cap how to cook?" She asked scandalized, "I am horrible at that, we discussed this," she said and he let out a hollow laugh. It was true, though Darcy was one of the better cooks in the tower she had little patience and her attempt to teach Steve ended with a smoky kitchen and take out for dinner.
"I am pretty sure Steve is quite efficient now." He whispered.
"Yes but you never know. Tony could invent a new stove and we would be back at square one." He said looking out of the glass windows at the front of the store.
"It's raining," He stated.
"It's been raining all day." She responded.
"I haven't noticed,"
"Apparently,"
"It is slowing down,"
"So,"
"So we should get back before we get stuck in the storm."
"Welcome back fluffy scientist."
"I haven't decided."
"No one said you had too yet." She said standing up as he pulled her chair back for her. It was practice now, he spent too much time around the team to not pull the chair out for his female companions. The only one who he did not move on his own accord of was Natasha, Clint was always close with Erin and they usually both had suction cup arrows ready to fire. Natasha would just wink as she slipped into her own chair waiting for her two birds to climb out of their nest and join the rest of civilization. He held his hand out for Darcy who smiled and slipped her arm around his.
When he reentered the lab Tony was perched on the edge his desk holding the framed photo. Bruce moved to sit and tucked the serum into his top drawer.
"I haven't decided." He told Tony who just smiled and nodded. The more time went on the less Bruce thought of the serum. Soon it became something that he moved around often and soon after that Darcy slipped it from the office and framed it in a shadow box. She placed it on his desk next to his coffee the bottom of the frame engraved.
'I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.'
