Flashing lights, humans and other birds were the first things that Evelyn saw. Her head throbbed as she sat up. The first thing she realized was that she was bandaged up. Over on the far side of the wall was a piece of paper. She read it and realized it was a piece of document. All of the cages had them. The documents contained a whole bunch of information about them like their name, height, weight etc.
Evelyn looked at her little sister Vanessa cage across the room. Vanessa was wrapped in blankets and had a cool washer on her head. Evelyn took a peek at her youngest sister's cage, which was next to Vanessa's. Zoe was connected to wires of all sorts. Evelyn hated seeing her sisters like this, Especially Zoe who was only 3 years of age.
The next few months were hard. Evelyn had to go through numerous amounts of operations to cure her injuries. Vanessa had to take a sort of disgusting medicine that made Evelyn want to throw up. And Zoe, little Zoe, went through things that Evelyn couldn't even explain. Oh, how the three sisters wanted to leave this place.
Then that day came. The vets at the bird sanctuary took them into the middle of the forest and released them there. At first they thought that they would be fine. But that changed when they met most of the dangers around the place. Evelyn, Vanessa and Zoe eventually found a nice, empty hollow to live in. The neighbours around the place were kind and very helpful with the renovation. Vanessa had made a lot of new friends even though she was a mute.
~Months later~
Evelyn was woken up to the sound of Zoe crying in her cot. Walking into the room, she picked up her baby sister and took her down stairs, put her in her high chair and made her breakfast. Evelyn then made herself some toast. Vanessa waddled downstairs drowsily not too long after. The 8 year old didn't say a word as she grabbed a box of coco-pops and poured them into a bowl with milk. After breakfast, Evelyn tied Vanessa's hair back into a high pony tail, ready for school. At 8:00am, Evelyn and Zoe walked Vanessa into the school grounds. Vanessa turned around happily, gave Evelyn a kiss and a hug before flying into her class room. On the way home, Evelyn and Zoe bumped into Raphael.
"Beautiful morning ain't it Ralphy!" She said. "Yes it is, Evie!" Raphael replied. "Evelyn, there's a big party going on tonight at the branch and Me, Blu and Jewel were wondering if you wanted to come with us" He said. "Can I bring my sisters?" Evie asked. "Sure, as long as they don't cause any trouble!" Raphael said.
"See you there then!" Evelyn said and walked back to their hollow. 'This is Gonna be one heck of a night!' She thought.
