Christine could only stare at the Captain, "Captain Stottlemeyer, Erik couldn't have killed anyone. You must be joking!"

The Captain shifted around a bit, "No, ma'am, I'm sorry. We have physical evidence to incriminate your fiancé, and we have an anonymous letter stating that your fiancé was seen at the place Mr. Joseph Boquet was murdered in the middle of the night."

Christine frowned, "Who is Joseph Boquet?"

Erik placed his hand on Christine's shoulder, "He worked at my music company…"

Lt. Disher spoke up then, "Mr. Boquet owed you some money, Mr. Destler, we already checked it out."

"A few hundred dollars, that's nothing worth killing over." Erik protested.

"Officers, I am telling you there is no way Erik could have killed Joseph Boquet last night!" Christine exclaimed.

"Christine please, calm down. The Captain needs to investigate every suspect." Raoul said calmly.

Captain Stottlemeyer turned to Raoul, "Thank you, sir." He turned back to Christine. "You're going to have to come down to the station ma'am. We're going to have to question you, too."

At the station

"Alright, Miss Dione, tell me what happened last night." Stottlemeyer said.

"Last night was our anniversary, so-"

"I thought you weren't married." Randy interrupted.

"We aren't. Last night was the anniversary of the day we met."

"How long have you been engaged?" The captain asked.

"Six months."

"Miss Dione, is it true that Erik Destler teaches at your school?"

"Yes, but we didn't know that when we met."

"Alright, now, how long were you with Mr. Destler last night?"

"All day, except from 3-5 when I went shopping. Then we were together till 10:30 this morning."

Randy was writing everything in his notebook. "And what were you doing till 10:30?" He asked, still jotting things down. Christine turned bright red.

"Randy!" Stottlemeyer yelled, turning a little pink himself.

Randy looked up. "What?"

"Do I have to answer that?" Christine asked.

"No, ma'am you don't." After a moment of silence the captain spoke again.

"Miss Dione, are you absolutely 100% sure that, Mr. Destler was with you all night?"

Christine was about to say yes, but her words died on her lips. The color drained from her face.

"Ma'am your fiancé is a prime suspect in a murder case. You have to tell me where he was."

"It was about 2 in the morning," She started shakily. "I woke up and Erik was gone. I thought he just went to get a drink of something so I went back to sleep."

"Thank you ma'am." The captain said. "You can go now."
