"Okay, Let me get this straight. Your friend, the one you were looking for, is a dragon?" Lucy asked.
Across from her a pink-haired mage was scarfing down his food down at a very fast rate, while Happy ate his fish slowly. Sipping her strawberry milkshake, Lucy watched them.
"Yeah!" Was the muffled reply she got from him.
That had Lucy raising her eyebrow and cause her lips to twitched upward. Her silver eyes shone with mirth.
"And you just thought a gigantic fire breathing dragon was stampeding through town?" She teased.
"Well yeah!" Natsu enthused with a wave of his hands. An impressive feat considering how he was currently engulfing enough food to feed a small army. How he didn't choke on the food he was scarfing down was truly beyond her.
"When you say it like that." Happy muttered catching Lucy's tone but his pink haired friend didn't even bat an eye.
"A friend said a Salamander was here. Well former friend. . . I swear when I see him . . ." Again, all while eating. Lucy actually paused her questions to stare, the little cat who shrugged sheepishly at his partner denseness.
Lucy could only blink. "And by Salamander, you took it to mean this Igneel was here?"
"That salamander creep was a fraud." Natsu grumbled.
"Yeah, I figured that much out."
"Then what were you doing then? Trying to get his autograph too?" Happy inquired.
"No, I was…leaving this town." She hesitantly told them. "Until I got dragged into the commotion."
"Huh?" Their heads snapped up.
She debated on how much she should tell them, they had been nice to her after all, and they deserved honesty.
Lucy sighed. "He asked it I wanted to join Fairy Tail. It was once been a dream of mine since I was a kid."
She didn't know why she was telling them all this. She knew she shouldn't get close. These two strangers didn't deserve her problems and her pain.
"Why did you want to join the Fairy Tail guild?" Natsu asked quietly. He was looking down at the table. His pink hair casting a shadow over his eyes.
She couldn't tell the truth. These kind, foolish strangers couldn't possibly understand. She wouldn't burden them with her problems.
"You seem like a nice person Natsu. You too Happy…But I given up on joining any guild."
Natsu snapped his head up and asked, "why would you give up, Lucy?"
She didn't answer. There was no need. As she internally cringed, remembering she had a date after all. Rising from her seat, Lucy placed her share of the dinner money next to her empty plate despite their protests.
"You asked why I wanted to join Fairy Tail?" She spoke over her shoulder.
"I want friends. Family. Someone to accept me. That's why. That was until...terrible things happened." She took a step. "It's time to meet this fake Salamander."
"Wait, what? You're going to meet that guy?" He asked
"It could be dangerous Lucy." Happy said.
Oh she planned on that. But keeping that thought to herself she smiled a true radiant smile gracing her lips at their concern. It had been so long since someone had cared about her well-being.
Lucy lips formed a breathtaking smile, yet her silver eyes shone with sadness.
Why do they look so sad. Thought Happy and Natsu.
"Lucy?" Happy asked.
"Goodbye Natsu. Goodbye Happy."
"Hey Lucy! we're friends."
She halted by a wooden table near the doors of the small restaurant, unprepared for the pink haired teen's voice. Her eyes widen. Turning back, Lucy noticed Natsu holding his hand out in her direction.
She eyed the strange boy a moment, his eyes they were so full of kindness and compassion she could barely meet his gaze. With a sigh, Lucy extended her own arm to meet Natsu's outstretched one.
"Sure Natsu, we're friends."
A five- year-old girl with golden blonde hair and silver eyes stared down at the burning remains of her home. The laughters around her made the girl clench her tiny fist.
'They're all dead.' She thought, her parents and friends, no one had survived; they were all dead. Closing her eyes, tears streamed down her face.
The chains around her body tighten. The bastards who made her watch her home burn. Made her watch the execution of her mother and father. They were smirking. They were laughing.
Traitorous Half-Breed! They yelled.
Then everything went black. Lucy found herself in darkness once again but she wasn't alone. She can feel that woman's eyes. Eyes that gleam like blood. Those crimson red eyes belonged to her. HER eyes. The clicking of her heels can be heard and they were moving towards her.
"Lucy…" said a feminine voice.
"My cute Lucy." The woman chuckled.
Her voice sent chills down Lucy's spine. She hated that woman's voice with a passion. Her voice is cruel and cold.
"We'll seal this special contract with my blood—-" she said.
Lucy doesn't need to see her. That woman's red eyes gleamed with glee. No she will not give her the satisfaction she wants.
She layed on a bed that wasn't her's. The scent was unmistakable. It was hers, that woman's. Lucy's upper body was left bare. her flawlessly smooth skin lay bare to HER immense pleasure.
"How about I dye your Brand Zess?"
Lucy grind her teeth, she knows what that means. A Blood Seal is the symbol...of "Control" and "Possession." If she ever breaks the blood contract, she will die. Simple as that.
Lucy could do nothing but glare at the woman, her silver eyes flashed with anger and rage.
She let out a chuckle, her red painted lips forming a seductive smirk. "Don't worry, you should be able to withstand the pain—" her smirk turned into a malicious grin, a slim finger dripping in blood glide across her seal.
"...ugh." Lucy grunted, her Zess seal burned with pain. Her seal turned red, a blood red.
"AWAYS REMEMBER...YOU ARE MINE..." The woman's voice became maliciously possessive. This made the half-breed shiver with disgust.
EVERY STRAND OF HAIR, EVERY DROP OF BLOOD. YOU BELONG TO ME!
"So your name's Lucy, huh?" Bora smiled. "That's a very nice name. It suits you."
The sound of his disgusting voice brought her back from the brink of her memories. Her head tilted to the side, blonde locks hanging over her eyes as she peered up at the criminal.
"I'll take that as a compliment." Lucy said. Her tone was cold, yet soft and alluring,
He chuckled and poured her a glass of wine. "Here you go, a festive drink for a festive party."
Lucy sighed, taking the glass and throwing it over her shoulder without even glancing at it. "I'll have another glass, without a sleeping drug this time. That okay with you?"
"I'm impressed." The poser raised an eyebrow. "You seem both very skilled at magic and extremely confident."
"I can smell the disgusting body odor of your grunts hiding behind the curtains."
Lucy let out another sigh. "Why not tell them to come out?"
Bora snapped his fingers. "You heard the lady. Come out!"
"Excellent." Lucy noted, springing up from the sofa and grabbing one thug, throwing him into two others and knocking all three out. "Now it's time for your punishment."
"You are a mage, aren't you?" He asked casually, hidden behind his small army of grunts. "Yes, I can see your keys. That makes you a Stellar Spirit mage. You really think you can beat my men without summoning anything?"
Lucy sighed again. "How arrogant." She held up a golden key. "Open, Gate of the Scorpion. Scorpio!"
"We are, yeah!" A tanned man with a large tail appeared, cheering. "What's up?"
"Get rid of these guys." Lucy told him, pointing at the thugs.
"We are!" Scorpio grinned and sent a blast of sand at them. "Sand Buster!"
Scorpio sighed as he looked the sand-covered weaklings groaning bodies. "That's it? Did someone trick you into taking a low-level mission or something, Lu?"
"Not really," Lucy smiled. "This is just a typical evening for me. These guys wanted to see a Spirit, so... I summoned you."
"Yeah!" Scorpio chuckled. "See ya, Lu!" He shouted, disappearing back to the Spirit World.
"Guess it's my turn." The leader observed, holding up a branding iron. Before he could act, however, Natsu crashed through the ceiling.
Lucy blinked. "What in the...?" Taking advantage of the distraction, a still conscious thug yanked her keys out of her hand and threw them out into the sea.
"Son of a Bitch!" Lucy exclaimed, tossing the same man at Natsu, who was rapidly turning green from motion sickness. "What are you doing here?"
"Never mind." She snapped before he could answer.
"Just deal with this guy, I'll go get my keys back." Before the fake Salamander could react, she ran up to the ship's rails and jumped over it.
Instead of falling into the water like a normal person would, Lucy instead landed on the water's surface. How was she doing it? Well she's constantly emitting a stream of magic to the bottom of her feet and using her magic to repel, and to stand on the water's surface.
Thanks to her very fast reflexes, Lucy was able to grab her keys before they hit the water. She let out a sigh of relief, it she hadn't caught them in time. She knew very well that a certain blue-haired mermaid spirit will not be happy that her key had been dropped.
"Hmm, Let's see." Lucy said. A hand on her hip while the other twirled a single gold key.
"Water + ship + a mage who can't handle moving vehicles + big wave = lots of fun and I have just the Spirit for it too." Her lips formed a smile.
Kneeling, Lucy plunged the tip of a key into the water. "Open, Gate of the Water Bearer. Aquarius."
A beautiful royal blue mermaid appeared next to Lucy. She has a long, blue fish-tail, light blue hair that reaches up to her waist, and a large bust. She has blue eyes that seem to have no pupils. She was wearing a revealing dark blue bikini top and on each arm, she has a golden armlet and bracelet. She also wore a headband, three piercings on her tail, and a golden belt at her waist and light blue crystal earrings. On her collarbone was a dark blue tattoo resembling the Aquarius zodiac symbol and in her arms is a urn that utilizes water magic.
"Tch." The mermaid spirit scoffed. "What did you do this time?"
"Nothing." Lucy said. Giving her spirit her signature angelic smile but the spirit knew better.
"Liar." She sighed dramatically.
Aquarius noticed silvers eyes seem to look forlorn. "What happened?"
Lucy frowned. "Just memories... I wish to forget."
Aquarius frowned, she knows that Lucy doesn't want to talk or remember about her past. All she need to knows it was THAT BITCH's fault. She was one that killed her former mater, Layla and took Lucy away.
She scoffed. "Tch, you should summon me more often than, I miss the time we had in Alvarez. Anyways, what do you need this time?"
Lucy pointed at the ship. "Just blast that back to shore."
Aquarius nodded and lifting her urn. "Damage limit?"
"Mediocre condition, none dead, no flooding the city streets."
"Ok."
Aquarius swung her urn and a huge whirlpool formed under the ship, swirling it around and around until the ship was sent hurling to the shore with a large wave bearing down on it.
"Did I mention I have a friend prone to motion sickness on that ship?" Lucy asked innocently. Her eyes on the other hand gleamed with mirth but what also gave the innocent act away was the smirk forming on her lips.
Aquarius burst out laughing. "That's just cruel, Lu."
She smirked. "We'll, I'm done here. Don't call on me for the next week, I'll be going on vacation with my boyfriend. You know, that thing you'll never have?"
A tick mark appeared on Lucy head and her eyebrow twitched with annoyance.
"Shut up." Was the only comeback her spirit got, which amused said spirit more.
Aquarius laughed again. "Take care, Lu." She told the girl as she disappeared.
"Ah, the rocking stopped." Natsu straightened up. "You. Are you a mage of Fairy Tail?"
Lucy sighed. "Really? Getting all riled up like that over one crook." She muttered.
The faker sneered. "And if I am, then what?"
Natsu scowled and threw a random thug at the man. "My name is Natsu and I'm a Fairy Tail wizard! and I've never seen your face before!"
"That mark." A badly beat-up grunt wheezed, staring at Natsu's bare shoulder. "He's the real deal, Bora-san."
"Don't call me that, you idiot!"
"Bora of Prominence." Lucy muttered. "He got kicked out of the Titan Nose guild because he used magic to steal."
"Aye." Happy agreed, floating next to her head.
"Huh." Lucy mused, staring at the blue cat. "You can fly. Somehow, that isn't the weirdest thing I've seen."
"Aye!"
"I don't care if you're a bastard or a damn hero." Natsu growled. "I won't forgive you for using our name!"
"Shut up, brat." Bora sneered and blasted Natsu with purple fire. "Heh, that showed him."
"That's just awful." Natsu announced as the flames were somehow sucked into his open mouth. "I've never eaten such disgusting flames before. Are you really a fire mage?"
"This still isn't the weirdest thing I've ever seen." Lucy commented.
"You've seen a lot of things, haven't you?" Happy asked. "What's the weirdest thing you've seen, Lucy?"
"It's best for you to not know." She said with a smile on her face.
Happy sweat-dropped and turned back to Natsu.
"Aah." The pink-haired boy wiped his mouth. "That hit the spot."
"What the hell?" Bora shouted in fear. "He just ate fire!"
"Fire won't work on Natsu." Happy commented.
"Now that I've eaten, I'm all fired up!" Natsu yelled, pounding his fists together and taking a deep breath.
"Bora-san, I've seen him before!" One of the thugs shouted. "That pink hair and the scaly-looking scarf... he's the real Salamander!"
Natsu roared as he blew out a gust of flame all over the battlefield, before jumping through it with a flaming fist and nailed Bora right in the face. "Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!"
Bora screamed in pain as he shot through several walls, bringing down an entire row of buildings.
"Natsu learned this from Igneel." Happy explained. "It's Dragon Slayer magic!"
"Hmmm, Interesting." Lucy remarked as Natsu spewed out more flames for some reason. "He took down half the city. This will be fun to explain."
"Aye!"
It didn't take long for her to find the pink haired boy. Rising out of the blazing inferno with a cheeky grin spread across his face. She couldn't help it but her mouth formed a small smile. You would think he hadn't engaged in an all out fight, destroying half a port in the process.
"So you're a wizard?" She questioned.
Raising an arm up he scratched at the back of his neck laughing lightly. "Did I not mention that?"
An eyebrow rose at his lapse of memory. "No." She dead panned. "You're a Fairy Tail Mage?"
Giving her a tooth filled grin he showed the mark across his shoulder proudly. "You got that right!"
"Hmm." Was he for real? Her eyes turned back to the barely conscious Bora.
"Mind if I have a few words with Mr. Casanova over there?"
Natsu blinked and shrugged. "Eh, sure."
Turning away from the confused mage she made sure she was well out of ear shot as she kneeled down to the fire wizard's level.
Picking the man ever so gently by the neck, Lucy cradled her hand around his neck. Pulling him close so only the two of them could hear she leaned in whispering lightly.
"You have no idea how lucky you are." She told him.
His eyes widened at the voice. The sound was contorted and sounded far too sinister for the innocent girl he had meet. Her demonic power was disrupting her voice patterns adding its own taint to it but there was something else there. It was her killer intent.
For a brief moment the charred man looked like he was going to shit himself. Or perhaps throw up. She didn't wait to find out. "Listen well, if we ever meet again...Natsu won't be there to save you."
Her grip closed around his neck earning a small wince of pain. "If I even hear that anymore girls are missing. Death may not be silent. But by my hands it will be swift. Do we understand each other? You will never harm another young girl again."
He nodded dumbly. Lucy smiled, its not her signature angelic one but instead it was a cold and cruel one. Bora realized if he didn't agree the end results won't be well for him.
"Good." Clapping his cheek lightly he fell on his back and released a relieved puff of air.
"Don't act so happy." She snorted.
"All that commotion that Natsu caused should have attracted their attention. The rune Knights might as well be on their way." Lucy smiled.
"They'll be here in a few minutes. In fact, I can see them now. Oh, and they don't look happy one bit." She chuckled at his defeated groan.
A contingent of soldiers rushed into the city. "What is the meaning of this?" The commander yelled at them. His eyes instantly locked onto her and a flash of recognition appeared on his face.
"Why do I get this feeling Aquarius and Loki are not going to be happy...again." Lucy murmured. But the next thing she knew she was grabbed by the arm and dragged her away.
"We gotta go!" Natsu yelled.
"What?" Was the only thing a very confused blonde could muster.
"You wanted to join Fairy Tail!" Natsu shouted, as he dragged her behind him. "I'll talk to the Master for you!"
"Aye!" Cheered Happy.
Lucy blinked. "Eh?"
Princess trust them. Said Loki.
The blonde just sighed. Alright.
Meanwhile at the Magic Council
"Those destructive fool of Fairy Tail have done it again! This time they destroyed half a port!" One man shouted out as he crushed the report in his hand.
"Honestly those fools…we should just disband them and be done with it." Org sighed as he rubbed his temple.
"I quite like hearing about their antics, its fools like them that make this world so interesting." Siegrain said with a smirk, earning himself glares from some of the more uptight members of the council.
"What Fairy Tail has done is the least of our concerns at the moment." Yajima said to bring the others back on track. "Look to the last page of the report, where it speaks of the descriptions of the guilty mages."
There was a pause as everyone turned to the final page to read, Siegrain included. A pink haired fire mage, a blue cat, a girl with golden blonde hair, and silver eyes, were seen escaping from the burning docks. What's so special about that? Siegrain scoffed to himself.
However, the other members of the Council seemed to find much more meaning in the descriptions than he did, as gasps escaped from a few lips and others looked even more stressed than normal.
Siegrain turned to look at Ultear, seeing an equally as befuddled face as he was likely wearing when hearing the top four wizard saints talk about a random girl.
"Oh…so The Bloody Cross really has decided to join Fairy Tail" Draco chuckled to himself. "I thought she was joking."
"Indeed, it seems she wasn't lying when she said so, at least we'll know where to look for her if we ever need her." Warren states before signing off.
Lucy, Natsu and Happy finally arrived at their destination, Magnolia Town. The home for the most strongest and destructive guild in the Kingdom of Fiore, Fairy Tail. After getting off the train, sadly in Lucy's case, carrying a very motion sick pink haired dragon slayer. After leaving the station. The blonde blinked in surprise when Natsu instantly returned to his cheery self and once again began dragging her by the arm.
Finally the pink haired dragon-slayer stopped dragging the amused blonde. Lucy tilted her head up, her expression of course staying the same as always, calm and serene. Yet if you look very closely her silver eyes shone with awe.
"Welcome to Fairy Tail!" Exclaimed Natsu.
"Aye!" Happy chipped in.
The blonde examined the imposing building. It consists of three floors and incorporating several architectonic styles: it took on a shape reminiscent of a pagoda, with each floor being smaller than the one below it and sitting on the latter's roof. The roofs also bore great resemblance to those of real pagoda, consisting of extremely long, arched tiles lined up one after the other and possessing simple curved protrusions jutting upwards on the building's angles. On the highest roof, topping the summit of the building, sat a simple, round and pointed dome, highly reminiscent of those seen on Arabian buildings, which bore a flag on its point. The roof below the one with the dome, the middle one, housed a large banner with Fairy Tail's symbol on it, held up by a pair of vertical poles. The building's large entrance was again Arabian in design, with its shape being reminiscent of that of the dome on the summit, and above it was the guild's name, topped by a protruding, stylized heart shape and flanked by a pair of carved fairies. Stylized heart shapes were also visible on the frames of the numerous, large pentagonal windows located on each floor, with the top floor housing smaller, arched windows partially covered by banners.
"Wow this place is big." Lucy muttered to herself, staring up at the Fairy Tail building.
Told you the building makes a good impression to newcomers, Loki said. She was able to noticed the change in his voice.
She smiled. This guild was Loki's home during his time in exile and ever since she saved him, he would always tell her stories about his former home. Natsu kicked the door open with toothy grin on his face and like a slap to the face, all of her senses were assaulted at once.
Blinking rapidly, Lucy sensitive senses became overloaded. She took an involuntary step back. Luckily for her, that single step came at the right time, smashing just inches from her face the pungent odor of alcohol stung her nose.
"Hey! Watch where you're throwing jackass!" Natsu yelled at the crowd. Looking back surprised at the violent outburst the smirk he had only confused her more. He gave her a wink.
"Natsu, what are you doing?"
"You should probably back up Lucy." Happy chirped.
Nodding her head in confusion she listened to his advice. At the moment she couldn't really argue, her head still swimming. Taking a single step aside she was up against the wall the exit to her left. Too much was going on. Too much noise. Too many people talking at the same time.
"I bet it was you wasn't it Gray?"
"What'd you say flame brain?" A man yelled in retaliation.
Rising up from a small table a dark haired teen roughly her own age scowled at Natsu. He was a lean build, average height, sporting an oversized white coat.
The scowl adorning his, admittedly handsome face was mirrored in Natsu's. Turning up his chin up the dark locks reaching over his eyes rose up just a fraction revealing a deep shade of blue. His stance was slanted, head looking over at them. It looked intimidating for sure.
Tossing his jacket aside in a fluent movement the wizard Gray rose, stalking over.
"Why do I get this feeling that this happens often?"
The cat just smiled nodding for her to continue watching. Even as the wizard stomped over, Lucy noticed he was pulling off his shirt . . . then his pants. . . .
"Why," She asked. "Is he stripping?"
Happy was desperately trying to hold back his giggles. "That's so inappropriate."
"So what's the deal?" Gray accused.
"It's nothing." Natsu fired back. Rising to meet the challenge their foreheads clashed violently. "Didn't think you needed a reason for a good fight. What's the matter? You scared?"
Natsu's eyes flared with challenge, practically daring the other man to make a move.
"Is that right?" He questioned. Bringing his hands back he cupped them together at his side. The air around him noticeable became cold. "Guess we still need to settle our score from earlier."
Natsu returned the gesture, both hands coming to his sides. Air steamed before shimmering against the rising temperature.
"That's fine by me you stripping freak!"
"Pretty confident for an overgrown gecko."
Both summoning their magic, the combined power contracting violently. To the left, the freezing cold causing ice to travel across everything, people falling and others nearby she found several disappointed drinkers finding solid blocks instead of their drink. To the right, guild members actively had to swat away flames spreading to the very flammable wooden tables.
"Gray your clothes!" Happy yelled.
"What?" Unbelievable looking down as if he hadn't been aware he was half naked Gray froze comically. "Not again!" He shouted.
Unfortunately for him, the moment he took his eyes off Natsu, the Dragon Slayer struck. Smashing a fire encased fist into his chin the other wizard literally went flying.
silver eyes watched as Gray flew across the guild until he landed against the back of a very tall white haired male. A pretty damn large man, she mentally corrected seeing the board muscled back tense visible even under a dark coat.
"Is he going to be alright?" She asked the hysterically laughing cat.
"He's fine." He spoke through his fits. "Gray's a lot stronger than he looks. He's an Ice Wizard. To get through the training to be an Ice make wizard you have to be pretty strong."
That cleared a few things up for her. Why for instance, the two were so eager to fight each other. "Fire and ice huh?"
"He and Natsu are rivals." Happy confirmed. "They're fighting all the time."
She humm'd in response, absorbing the information. Almost sulking toward the two, a grumbling Natsu narrowed his eyes at his partner. Hands in his pocket, head down, Natsu was the picture of a petulant child. "Hey Happy? Why'd you have to go and do that for? Things were just starting to heat up."
The cat shrugged. "You're the one who still hit him."
Natsu pouted like a kid who didn't get his favorite toy for Christmas. The childish wizard looked more the part as he stubbornly stuck his tongue out to his companion, which the cat returned in full. Lucy was about to interrupt their child like fit but someone else beat her too it. In the form of a chair bounced off the pink-haired teens skull.
"Hey Natsu! A real man fights his own battles."
Turning, Lucy was greeted by the massive white haired man from before. Her keen eyes had not done the wizard justice. Towering over her, the bulking tanned man and his gravity defying hair were flexing what looked to be an alligator arm, smirking down at the three of them. Tilting his head he revealed a Fairy Tail guild mark across his neck.
'What an odd place to put a guild mark.' She found herself thinking.
He raised a scared eye at her. The question was clear in his eyes but he didn't voice it. Oddly enough, Lucy was struck with how much he resembled a certain women, seen countless times across many magazines.
"That's Elfman Strauss." Happy stated matter of fact. "He's a takeover Mage. That's why his arms all scaly"
'Strauss?'
"Scaly?" Elfman questioned dubiously. "This is a real man's magic, cat." Opening his mouth to say more he was cut off as Gray made his reappearance.
Flying into the scene, his bare foot smacked Elfman off to the side. "Happy! Natsu!" He roared.
"Oh crap, Gray!" Lunging at her, tiny paws wrapped around her neck, the little creature cried out for her to save him. Lucy had little to no idea what was happening.
What happened next was such an amazing sequence of ridiculous events she could barely follow what was happening. The first being Natsu rising to launch at Gray (thankfully for Happy) the two engaging in a fist fight inside their own guild hall.
Rolling around, throwing anything and everything they could get their hands on the two quickly dragging others into the mix. When launching things, people, or oddly enough animals too, they would soar often missing the intended target entirely, hitting some unsuspecting bystander. Of course, the assaulted would retaliate repeating the process. Before long the entire guild was consumed in a massive free-for-all brawl.
Despite the carnage they all seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Subtly as possible Lucy took Happy, making her way over to the safety of the guild bar. Even from here, shielded by the chaos a few members could be seen seated along the bar stools content to just watch the madness. The guild bar seemed to be a safe zone.
With extreme caution Lucy and Happy shuffled past the fights trying their best not to jostle anyone, fear of being forced in. Having given time to relax and familiarize herself with her surroundings her natural adaptiveness kicked in. No longer bothered by the loud crowd or the intense smell Lucy moved with her usual nimbleness. Flowing through and about, Happy clutched tightly in place within her arms; Lucy made it through the masses without so much as a hair out of place.
Ignoring Happy who was looking up at her in awe. She neared the bar promptly pulling out a seat, the two non-combatants plopped down turning to stare amazed at the spectacular fight taking place.
A soft voice had her look back. A main of white hair resting across two generous breasts had Lucy blink rapidly. Leaning back against the counter Lucy was chest level to a (very open) bright blue dress.
Either obvious or willfully pushing past the awkward encounter the bar maid gave her a small wave occupied by a radiant smile. "Hello there, are you new?"
"Oh, no, I'm not a member. Not yet anyways..." Suddenly taking time to look up to her speaker, Lucy felt her eyes widen slightly. The white hair flowing down on either side framing the angelic face, trademark bangs pinned up, even the elegant smile. "Are you by any chance Mirajane?"
The woman paused, her smile faltering just a fraction. Heading turning to the side her expressional eyes glanced her over once then again. "Yes. Do I know you?"
Lucy shaking her head. "You don't know me. I've seen you on sorcerer weekly is all." She trailed off.
"Smooth Lucy."
Not giving the blue cat the satisfaction, Lucy crossed her arms and legs, and looked away. Tilting her head, Mira kindly asked her another question changing the topic. "So you want to join Fairy Tail?"
"...Yes." She hesitantly answers. "It would be a shame to just leave. Natsu brought me here and I don't want to make him sad."
Mira smiled again erasing all her previous nerves. Mirajane just as she protrude in her cover shoots was the poster child of grace and kindness. She was so welcoming, so warm it reminded her of her beloved mother.
"Alright, well the master handles all new recruits. Now where is he. . . There he is!" She suddenly exclaimed in an eccentric manner. It was enough to surprise Lucy, who flinched at bar maiden action.
Following the outstretched finger, silver eyes settled on a small old man. A VERY small old man. Humming lightly to himself, he was chuckling at the action behind him, actively whooping and cheering on the fight sipping at his oversized mugs. Yes, mugs. The way his cheeks were flushed the beer in his hand wasn't the first either.
He donned a white shirt that Lucy summarized a child could wear, the Fairy Tail symbol was stamped across proud for all to see. There was an orange hoodie over his shirt even matching orange shorts but that wasn't really what caught her eye, it was his hat. An orange and blue jester's hat with bells attached was jingling with each bob of his head.
"He's the master?" She hadn't meant any disrespect but the image she had in her mind just didn't quite comply with the kooky, oddly dressed man. This would certainly explain why there were never any pictures.
"That's him." Mira confirmed, laughing at his antics. "Don't let his size fool you; Master Makarov is a very powerful man. He's even a ten wizard saint."
"You don't say." That was certainly disturbing. Lucy frowned. With his grandfatherly appearance, his choice of drink, especially his attire; She had completely underestimated this man.
"Hey mostner! Some-" *hiccup* "Someone's here too sees youz."
Curiously Lucy turned her head, to yet again have another pair of generous breasts in her line of vision and they were barely covered by a blue bikini, this time hovering over her.
'Why does that keep happening?' She thought.
On the bar stool adjacent her, a drunk brunette was looking at her, cheeks flushed as she clutched a comically oversized 'barrel' filled with alcohol. Judging by the very strong smell of Alcohol.
Lucy tilted her head to the left and a single brow rose.
"Cana." Mira greeted. "My, you're drunk already?"
"Bah!" The brunette snorted. "I haven't even started yet."
As if the girls honor had been called into question she surprised everyone by swiftly hopping to her feet hardly affected by her alcohol induced state. Grabbing the barrel of booze she balanced it in one hand leaning back chugging.
"Is she drunk or is she sober?" Lucy asked. Happy who was sitting on the bar table eating fish, just shrugged.
She continued to watch Cana drink her barrel wondering how this human can drink so much. Her body stiffens when she sensed a massive object approaching at high speed. Without even thinking about it Lucy reaches out and wraps a her arm around Mira's waist who was in the said objects sight, pulling the older woman out of the path of Elfman's flying form.
Mirajane blinked in surprise, not expecting someone to grab her waist, but when she saw her brothers form crash land in the spot, she had just been occupying she smiled at Lucy. "Oh my, thank you for that Lucy, he may not look it, but Elfman is quite heavy."
What are you talking about, he does look heavy, Lucy sweat drops, but then smiles.
"It's no problem." Lucy said before feeling yet another body flying at them causing the blonde to dodge and exert herself as she once again ended up grabbing bar maiden around the waist. In a quick blink of an eye, Mira noticed that she ended up bridal style in the blondes arms.
The object this time turned out to be the dark-haired boy who had been fighting with Natsu. Although now the boy was missing his boxers, which Lucy could see that Natsu was twirling it in his hand. Grinning down at his fallen foe.
The boy grumbled as he extracted himself from the pile of bar stools and upon seeing Lucy, smiled arrogantly as he held out his hand. "Excuse me miss, but would you please lend me your underwear?"
Lucy blinked in surprise and could hear Mirajane make a disapproving huff in her arms.
'Loke, does this happen often?' Lucy thinks confused on whether this is a normal thing to do as she hasn't had much human interaction in a long time.
"Relax princess, this is just how everyone is, you're gonna love this place in no time" Loke says telepathically.
"I see." Deciding to ignore the ice mages antics. She send him away with one of her signature finger flicks. Which Aquarius, Loki and Scorpio jokingly calls it, The Death Flick much to her dismay and embarrassment.
"What the hell! Did she's just finger flick me?!" Gray breathed out. Rubbing the single red mark that formed on his forehead. A strange look on his face, after getting up from where he landed. He prepared to retaliate with one of his own attacks.
"Damn, girl packs a flick," Cana said.
"Shut it Cana!" Gray cursed, looking at the blonde who was still holding Mirajane.
"Holy shit, she sent Gray flying with a flick to the forehead?"
"Nice one Luce!" Natsu exclaimed, running towards the very confused blonde.
"Wow, that was awesome Lushe!" Cheered Happy.
"She must be crazy strong!" a guild member shouts staring at the blonde who went back to ignoring the shouts.
"Wow," Levy says. For a moment she could felt a spike of magical power that the blonde emitted.
"Hey, where are you from?!" Another guild member shouts.
Out of all the questions being shouted at her, that was the one that hit a nerve. Lucy's body stiffened and Mirajane who was still in her arms felt it. She frowned. Tilting her head, she noticed that the blonde no longer had her angelic smile but in its place was frown. She couldn't see the blonde eyes. Her bangs were casting a shadow over her eyes. Even Natsu who is considered dense in most cases, noticed something was wrong with his new friend.
"Luce/Lucy?" Both He and Mira hesitantly called her name.
Hearing the worried tone of their voice. Lifting her head up and she gave them a breathtaking smile that made everyone in the guild hearts skip a beat.
A single thought went through their heads. What a beautiful smile.
"Yes. Everything's fine." Her golden blonde hair no longer casting a shadow over her beautiful silver eyes.
Mira who was close enough was able to see the sadness shine in them. Which made her frown even more. A single went through her. Her eyes. They look so sad.
Noticing the tension in the guild towards her power, Lucy ignores her future fellow guild mates in favor of getting the beautiful bar maiden safely back to the bar.
The white-haired mage smiled and thanked her. 'Naive, protective and caring. How sweet. Eh?! What am I thinking! Mira just realized what went through her mind, her cheeks became tinge with red. Lucy tilted her head in confusion wondering why Mira's face was becoming red.
Is she sick? Thought Lucy.
Spirit World
"Damn brat its called blushing!" Yelled Aquarius.
"No need to get railed up." Loki said. "She's still learning human emotions remember."
The mermaid spirit sighed, leaning against Scorpio who in turn warped his arms around her. Even though she doesn't show it but everyone knows Aquarius dearly missed Lucy. They know she feels guilty. She couldn't protect Layla or Lucy.
Every spirit knows that their beloved master wants to forget her bloody past. Her pain. They want to protect her.
"Its the reason why I want her to come to Fairy Tail." said Loki, with a grin on his face. "I know Fairy Tail will help her. her pain. her loneliness. her anger. her hate. Fairy Tail will heal it all."
"Is she even listening?" Cana asks, taking notice that their resident barmaid were turning red. Shaking her head, the former S-class mage grabbed the blondes hand.
"Master!" Mira yelled. "We have a new member." Pulling her along by hand, Lucy followed the white haired wizard over to the master.
Sensing their presence, Master Makarov Dreyar turned, his jester hat's bells jingling slightly.
"Master one of Natsu and Happy's friends would like to join the guild." Said a smiling Mira.
The blonde look surprised as Mira nudged her towards him.
"Oh? And who's this?" Eyeing her, he grinned. "She sure is a pretty thing."
Studying the man his act just seemed so, practiced. The way his oddly perfect teeth shined with a gleam, his wrinkled face scrunched up, old seeing eyes watching her under a hooded expression. Somehow, Lucy didn't quite believe this man was being serious. If anything, she felt exposed, all her secrets laid before this very powerful but little old man.
He was far too good to give anything away but that in itself was telling. There was no surprise.
"Master." Mira warned, a dangerous glint shined in her blue eyes. "She's here to join the guild. It wouldn't do to have you scare her away now would it?" Just as the look appeared, it quickly vanished.
Lucy found her respect for Mira grow in that short display. Not only that but she also made a note to never anger the bar maiden. With a nervous chuckle, the small man waved off his guilds posture child. Scratching absently at his cheek, he finally addressed her.
"So you wish to join my guild eh, what was your name?"
"Davy!" Happy suddenly appeared across her shoulder. Three different women eyed the cat with various degrees of agitation.
Lucy in particular narrowed her silver eyes at him. "It's Lucy." She drawled. He got her name mixed up? After days of traveling together?
Raising a single paw to her Happy laughed. "Sorry, Ginny."
"That wasn't even close." Mira muttered.
Still eyeing the cat, Lucy turned her attention back to the master, "Yes, sir."
"Pssht." The man grumbled. "None of that. Master will do just fine."
The blondes eyes widen in disbelief. "Wait . . . So you mean?"
A smirk formed on a his face. "Where would you like your guild mark eh?" He asked brandishing a small stamp.
