Kim's learned alot from Duncan. Witchery and Technology, How to make computers and Thaumcraft items.
But the Most important thing she's learned is how to cage herself.
It started harmless enough a few purple stains here a weird comment there.
Then the dreams started, weird dreams. She didn't remember much of the dreams at first but slowly it came to her bit by bit Explosions, and nagas, and PurpleEverywhereonherinherchangingher.
She woke up screaming most nights. Screaming and crying and clawing at the purple bits that shouldntbethere!tatintedtaintedtainted!
Duncan was there. He'd hold her down until the screaming and clawing stopped, until the tears dried and she fell asleep again.
It didn't take long for Kim to begin watching him. After all He knew just what to do to keep her calm, to stop her fits.
So she watched and she learned.
she saw how sometimes he'd twitch towards the swords with a strange gleam in his eye, she saw the gleam again when they began messing with the darker arts of magic. When they found the caged villagers she finally put a name to the gleam.
Madness.
As he looked at the notes on demented experiments and saw the dying villagers she saw it. He tried to hide it, even worked against it if the tightening of his muscles as he freed the villagers was anything to go by.
But it was still there.
All this Kim saw and copied, as all good apprentices do.
